Personally, I also find their Western-style sweets delicious. I don't often visit the main store, but I occasionally use it when shopping at the department store. The prices are not high, and there are many varieties, so I end up buying too much.

My mother bought three desserts: strawberry shortcake, muscat grape shortcake, and whole strawberry crepe. The strawberry shortcake had a simple and gentle taste, with a balance of cream and sponge. It was a bit too much sponge for my liking, but the sweetness was just right. The muscat grape shortcake was similar in taste to the strawberry one. The whole strawberry crepe was a cake with sponge, cream, and a whole strawberry wrapped in crepe. The taste was reminiscent of tiramisu, with a good balance of sweetness. Overall, they were all delicious, but not necessarily something I would crave to have again.

Popular choice priced in the 600 yen range. It is a small hall-shaped dessert. The taste is like castella cake, with a fluffy souffle-like texture. It can last for 2 days at room temperature. When stored in the refrigerator, it becomes a little firm, which is also delicious. Next time, I want to try baking it in the oven or fish grill.

At Daimaru Umeda, I got a cute Halloween-themed cake for a snack today. It was a ghost cake made with rice cakes, very cute! The filling was pumpkin cream, light and just the right amount of sweetness. There was also pumpkin cream in the middle, so I got to enjoy two different creams.

I bought the seasonal watermelon panna cotta (430 yen) which has chunks of watermelon on top, watermelon jelly underneath, and panna cotta at the bottom. The sweet and juicy watermelon is delicious, and the refreshing watermelon jelly paired with the sweet panna cotta is perfect. The Special Shortcake (530 yen) has a fluffy sponge with a gentle sweetness of cream. It is generously topped with large strawberries and is definitely delicious.

In August 2021, after work, I stopped by Daimaru Umeda store to get some sweets. This time, I checked out "Shoutani" from Amagasaki. They had a variety of colorful jellies and mousses that looked perfect for summer. I thought, "These seem light, so I could probably have about three of them." I chose three items: - Peach Melba for 470 yen - Melon Mousse for 390 yen - Ramune Jelly for 330 yen The Ramune Jelly had what looked like fruit tomatoes on top, but I'm not sure what they were. Maybe it's a fruit-based jelly? The blue Ramune Jelly had a refreshing taste and was perfect for summer. The Melon Mousse and Peach Melba were simple but had juicy melon and peach on top. They were all delicious and enjoyable to look at. Thanks for the meal!

In my imagination, it's like a cream puff with diplomat cream inside. The cream is easy to eat, so I really recommend it! The choux pastry is not dry, but moist. Surprisingly, it has sesame toppings! I tried SHOTANI's "Mochi Mochi Choux" for the first time in late March this year, when a friend gave it to me. My impression was that it was incredibly delicious! I wanted to recommend it to everyone. Since then, I used it as a gift last month. This time, I bought just one for my mother to taste (I have too many snacks at home to buy more). I bought a cake from Shoutani located in the basement of Daimaru Umeda store. The colorful cakes displayed in the showcase were not too expensive and had a reachable price. This cake shop mainly focuses on fruit-topped cakes. The cakes are sold for around 300 yen each. The chocolate cake is 360 yen, chestnut roll is 320 yen, and chestnut tart is 470 yen. There is also a large fruit-filled sweets box for 790 yen, which is about 15cm on each side. It can be cut into 4 or even 6 pieces. It is a very affordable cake that I could buy without hesitation and enjoy fully.

It's the beginning of the Obon holiday, so there were many customers lining up in front of the store. I waited in line for about 5 minutes and made my purchase. The cakes are all reasonably priced and filled with plenty of fruit, which is very satisfying. We shared them among us. My favorite is the "Whole Melon" cake. It's a hearty cake made mostly of melon, so you can finish it all by yourself. I also love Shoutani's cookie "Wa no Kokoro," especially the Kinako flavor. Once you start eating it, you can't stop because it's so delicious! It's a great gift item that will be appreciated. Please give it a try. I was comforted by the delicious cakes and snacks. No matter which cake you choose, they are delicious and reasonably priced! I ordered the "Melon Special Cake," which is topped with a large amount of half melon balls. Underneath, there is cream and sponge cake. Shoutani's cream is not too sweet, so it won't make you feel heavy. Besides cakes, their cookies with Japanese brown sugar are also incredibly delicious.
