Open for just over a year, this shop is located on the second basement floor of the Hankyu Department Store Umeda Main Store, next to Hankyu Bar Alley. It is located at the far end from Hankyu's Umeda station platform, so if you walk towards Diamor Osaka from Osaka Umeda station or JR Osaka station, you will see the entrance on your left. Despite being in the bar alley, it is in a gourmet zone, so all the shops here, including this one, are welcoming for solo diners. This bakery originated in Kyoto and is the third branch in Osaka. The style is to pick up a tray and tongs and head to the cash register, but perhaps due to the aftermath of the pandemic, everything is now in showcases. The main store in Imadegawa is affectionately known as "Red Mech", but this one could be called "Black Mech". Some parts of the walls and trays are in black. The eat-in area is open and spacious, but there is also a counter for solo diners, which is nice. Personally, I have only been to the store in Hibiya, but here they offer a special morning service, which is not available at the other store. However, there is no specific morning set, just free refills for coffee. So, I came here excitedly, but unfortunately, the staff did not inform me about this at all, even though it was not particularly busy. The coffee brewed by the machine costs 250 yen. It was hot, had a nice aroma, and was quite delicious. And since I came here, I had to try the limited edition item. So, I got the Brioche a la Creme for 260 yen (eat-in price, tax included), which was released to commemorate the opening. It's their number one popular item. It features custard cream with a subtle sweetness and an egg flavor on their brioche dough. Topped with almond slices and pistachio dice. The overall balance is good, and it's so tasty. I also got the Sosison Morne for 489 yen. It's made with levain dough with a large sausage sandwiched in it, generously topped with Morne sauce. It's very substantial! The Morne sauce is a bit spicy, and although it is well packaged, it's not ideal for carrying around, so it's best to eat it quickly or handle it carefully. It has a chewy texture, a good wheat flavor in the dough, a delicious sausage, and fresh rosemary. If you spend over 800 yen, you get a Posca as a gift. This month, it was a Vietnamese-style sandwich illustrated by Yuko Sasahara. That looked delicious too. It's interesting to give out Poscas at a bakery, something you don't see often elsewhere. If you collect them, you can create a Le Petit Mech collection. I definitely want to visit again. Thank you for the meal!
