Visited a Sri Lankan curry restaurant in Nishishin. Arrived around 4 pm on a Sunday, just missing the lunch hours, but luckily they still served the lunch menu until 5 pm. Ordered the Sri Lankan curry lunch set for 1,000 yen with an extra 50 yen for spiciness level +2. The curry was made with authentic spices, rich coconut milk, and a perfect balance of flavors. The ingredients were potatoes and chicken, nothing extraordinary but both tasted good. I opted for the spiciness level two steps up from the default, and it was just right for me, not too spicy. The rice was similar to Japonica rice, with a slightly sticky yet fluffy texture that paired well with the curry. The sweet and sour cabbage salad and yogurt ice cream dessert complemented the curry perfectly. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and finished every last bit. Found a great restaurant with delicious curry, good value for money, and exceptional service. Despite some language barriers, the staff's warmth and attentiveness made the dining experience even better. Highly recommend this place for those who enjoy light and flavorful curries. I will definitely be returning soon. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I will make sure not to make the same mistake next time! Today, I compared the taste of chicken croquette and tuna croquette. Both are equally delicious. The spiciness of the flavors is different, so it depends on personal preference. The round chicken croquette seems to be more popular with everyone. The breadcrumbs on the croquettes here are crispy and delicious. I had the usual noodle curry, but I forgot to take a picture. I will definitely go back.

I went to Sri Lanka Curry Nishishin. The restaurant is located on the second floor and was quite clean. The curry had a lot of spices in addition to coconut, and I ended up sweating quite a bit while eating! It was a curry that seems addictive, and I feel like I want to go there occasionally.

I went again with my daughter to our favorite restaurant. Today we had omelette and spicy croquettes. Not only is the curry delicious here, but the place is also clean, bright, and all the staff including the cooks are kind and friendly, making it very comfortable. Lunch is a good deal.

Second floor of Nishi-Shin's shopping street. The sign is clearly displayed on the first floor, so it stands out. The interior is spacious, with a cafe-like atmosphere. In the midst of many suspicious-looking Sri Lankan restaurants, this place is easy to relax in and enjoy the food slowly. The service is also very polite and good. This time, I ordered the Nishijin Special for lunch. It's a greedy menu where you can enjoy both dry curry and noodles in a half-and-half style. The taste is consistently good thanks to the local chef. The spiciness is mild and easy to eat. The salad and ice cream are also good. A Sri Lankan restaurant where you can eat with peace of mind.

I had lunch at Oukagai. Lion Stout. Dry curry. No potatoes, less rice. Comes with salad. Ice cream. Black tea for 1000 yen. 200 yen cheaper than Tuna Paha. The rice is crispy. The curry has a lot of coconut milk. It's not just spicy, but also has a mild flavor. This is delicious.

It's a relatively new restaurant that recently opened. Today, I came with my daughter because my husband had a drinking party. The menu is similar to Sri Lankan something and Tuna something. We ordered a set that came with curry, rice and noodles, chicken cutlet, omelette, salad, and dessert. My daughter had mutton curry and something like mixed rice. The omelette had cheese on top and was eaten with ketchup. The chicken cutlet was crispy and delicious. The curry arrived. Lately, I've been loving the noodle curry at this Sri Lankan curry place. I enjoyed every bite. The spiciness was moderate, but it felt like the spiciest among similar restaurants. The staff were very kind, and the lunch price was reasonable at 1000 yen, so I will definitely go back. Thank you for the meal.

The Sri Lankan curry at level 3 is slightly spicier than Nissin's Miyazaki Spicy Noodles or Samyang's Extremely Spicy Buldak. Level 2 is similar to Nissin's Miyazaki Spicy Noodles. Level 1 is about as spicy as Jawa Curry's spicy version. For children or those who are not good with spicy food, level 1 might be a safe choice. The Keema Curry has a milky flavor to it. Even at level 2, the spiciness is quite mild. The menu indicates levels of spiciness with stars, but it is also possible to request a reduction in the number of stars.

At my husband's request, we came to our favorite restaurant on a Friday night where we could relax and enjoy our meal. The salad and tandoori chicken were as delicious as always! We finished with a small Sri Lankan curry, which seemed spicier than usual, but still delicious. I always crave Sri Lankan curry after eating here. Thank you for the wonderful meal. Located on the second floor of the long-established Chinese medicine pharmacy "Baba Yakkyoku" on the west side of Nishijin Central Shopping Street in Nishijin, Sawara-ku, Fukuoka City, is a Sri Lankan restaurant called "Sri Lanka Nishijin." The restaurant was opened in August of Reiwa 4th year as a sister restaurant to "Sri Lanka Kumamoto," which was founded in Kumamoto City by Edirisinghe Lakshika Suduwakumara, who came to Japan as a student from Sri Lanka and worked as a part-time worker at the famous Sri Lankan restaurant in Hakata, "Fushigikousai Tsunahapa," eventually becoming the manager. The restaurant offers authentic Sri Lankan cuisine prepared by veteran chefs with over 10 years of experience in Sri Lanka and abroad, and has been gaining popularity rapidly. The restaurant's signature dish is the rice curry, where rice or vermicelli is placed in the center of a round plate and surrounded by curry roux, with chicken and potatoes on the side. This style of rice curry is common among Sri Lankan restaurants in Kyushu, which were opened by chefs who used to work at "Nuwareliya" and "Tsunapaha," Sri Lankan restaurants in Hakata. The menu includes Sri Lankan curry made with coconut milk and over 30 types of spices, noodle curry, and dry curry, among others. In addition to rice curry, the restaurant also offers devil dishes with spicy stir-fried dishes, as well as other Sri Lankan specialties such as Giza, Kankun Pork, Kataris, Sri Lanka Rolls, and Roti with chicken curry. I finally had the opportunity to visit Sri Lanka Nishijin, a restaurant that I had been wanting to visit but couldn't due to the pandemic. I visited for lunch with a friend, and we were warmly welcomed by the staff, including the owner and chef, who are also from Sri Lanka. The restaurant has a spacious interior with counter seats, table seats, and a cozy atmosphere. We ordered the dry curry and Sri Lankan curry lunch sets, which came with salad, ice cream, and Ceylon tea for 1,000 yen. The green salad with citrus dressing was a refreshing start to our meal.

This place opened in August 2022, and I finally visited after thinking for a long time that I would eat here. As far as I remember, the owner of this place trained at Tsunapaha, opened three branches of Sri Lankan Kumamoto, and now made a triumphant return to Nishijin, Fukuoka, like a boomerang! It was a holiday when I visited, and I hadn't eaten lunch at home, so I went to Nishijin for shopping. It was just before 3 PM, but I was hungry, so I went up the stairs and entered the second-floor restaurant. There were 2 customers already at that time. A few more people came in after me, so maybe they have continuous business hours. The restaurant had 2 female and 3 male staff members, and I could hear the sound coming from the kitchen, maybe from stirring the pot. One of the female staff members spoke fluent Japanese on that day, but I wonder how it usually is. The lunch menu seemed to be available until 5 PM, with options like Sri Lankan curry, noodle curry, dry curry, vegetable curry, keema curry, and even England curry. After some consideration, I chose the noodle curry, which I hadn't had in a while! Since it was this time of day, I also decided to have a Sri Lankan whiskey arrack highball. Oh, they have the weekend-only egg katakuris, so I'll have that too! First, the salad and highball were served. The highball was a bit weak but had a refreshing sharpness, which I liked. The salad dressing had a moderate acidity, which I enjoyed. Next was the egg katakuris, which were like potato croquettes with eggs. I don't know why, but they were good with ketchup and a nice snack. The noodle curry had the typical Kyushu Lanka-chic visual, reminiscent of Tsunapaha, with two pieces of chicken and potato each. I chose level 5 spiciness, so it was quite spicy. Another highball, please! After the meal, you get a drink and ice cream, so I'll have an iced tea. Yeah, Kyushu Lanka is nice once in a while! I chose the "Dry Curry" from the 6 curry options. You can choose between ice tea and hot tea, and I chose hot tea. The Dry Curry is a Sri Lankan-style curry pilaf that is served like an island in a shallow curry lake. It is garnished with potatoes, chicken, and other ingredients. The rice in the fried Sri Lankan-style pilaf is a mix of short-grain and long-grain rice, with bell peppers, onions, small shrimp, meat, and cashew nuts. The texture is lively and it has a fragrant, savory taste. The curry sauce is a mix of two types, with a coconut milk flavor and a slightly spicy taste. When you dip the Dry Curry into the curry sauce and eat it, the curry flavor intensifies. "Sri Lanka Nishijin" is a branch of "Sri Lanka Kumamoto" in Kumamoto City, which was started by someone from "Fushigikana Tsunapaha," a Sri Lankan curry restaurant in Fukuoka City. On this day, I went to Nishijin for some shopping before my trip and a free medical check-up. I visited a Sri Lankan curry restaurant that opened recently. Ever since I had a tearful experience at a famous Sri Lankan curry restaurant when I was in my early twenties, I have been eager to eat Sri Lankan curry again! I ordered the Keema curry, as well as the popular Dry curry and Noodle curry which can be eaten together in a Half & Half set. Both are part of the lunch menu which includes salad, curry, and dessert. The menu indicated the spiciness level with 3 stars and 2 stars. Although it was said that it could be made mild, it was also mentioned that it was about as spicy as a normal spicy curry, so I decided to order it as it is. The Keema curry had a rich aroma of minced meat, spices, and creamy coconut milk. It was topped with coriander, so be careful if you don't like it! I'm not a fan, so I'll ask for it to be omitted next time... However, for me, it was even spicier than the usual spicy level... The Noodle curry was interesting, like curry-flavored vermicelli? It was my first time trying it, and it was completely different from Japanese-style curry udon, easy to eat. The Dry curry was like a curry fried rice! Yum! But spicy! The chunky potatoes and tender chicken were delicious, but my tongue started to numb! Everything was spicy and authentic, very delicious, but towards the end, I was too busy thinking about which cafe to go to for something sweet! But don't worry, dessert was included! It's like an izakaya. Welcome (Sri Lankan person). It's really spicy with a lot of spices, but delicious. 2 stars might be just right. 3 stars is spicier than Japanese spicy, addictive, but might be enough for a while after eating. The night a la carte menu looks good too.

Kumamoto's Sri Lanka Kumamoto was opened by a former employee of the popular Tenjin's Tsunapaha. After expanding to three stores in Kumamoto, the new Nishijin store finally opened in August 2022! The menu includes classic Sri Lankan dishes like curry, noodles, and dry dishes, as well as vegetable and keema options. The lunch hours are from 11:00 to 17:00, with lunch sets that come with salad, tea, and ice cream. The curry, made with over 30 types of spices, is spicy but rich and delicious. The ice cream is a relief for the tingling tongue after the meal. It's great to have more places where you can easily enjoy this flavor!
