A quiet restaurant located in a residential area in Esaka. It takes about 15 minutes on foot. There is parking available. It's crowded on both weekdays and weekends, so it's best to visit at a less busy time. The seating area is not very spacious, but the atmosphere is nice. I tried the Eel Seiro Steamed Rice Box (half portion) for 3200 yen and Eel Bone Senbei for 600 yen. It was my first time trying seiro steamed rice. The eel was tender, and the sauce soaked into the rice just right, which was perfect for me as I'm not a fan of greasy eel dishes. I enjoyed it until the very end. The eel bone senbei was also delicious, with a nice amount of oil on it.

There is an eel restaurant in a residential area in Esaka. They have a parking lot. I have visited a few times a year, and last time, there were a lot of people so we were seated in a private room on the second floor. This time, we sat at a table on the first floor. The eel had just the right amount of sauce for my taste. The grilled eel, and the nanbanzuke were also very delicious!

It was the midsummer day of the Ox! The exterior of the restaurant was lovely. There was also a parking lot, which was convenient for me as I often drive. Of course, the eel was delicious too! It was thick and grilled to perfection. The juices overflowed with each bite. I would have preferred a bit more sauce. Since it's a shoe-free restaurant, it's best to wear easy-to-slip-on shoes for a smooth dining experience.

One month before the Midsummer Day of the Ox, I decided to recharge my tired body and mind due to a recent job transfer. On the day of the visit, I called the restaurant at opening time and made a reservation for one person to arrive 30 minutes later. I walked from home and arrived slightly sweaty. The restaurant had a prominent sign outside, making it easy to find. Upon entering, I was greeted by a refined hostess and asked to take off my shoes before being led to a table for one. The room had a calm, wooden decor. I looked at the menu and felt motivated. I ordered a bottle of beer (a classic lager from Kirin for the eel, of course), edamame, and the premium eel rice bowl. Although cold barley tea was served, I resisted and opted for a cold beer instead. The edamame arrived, and I enjoyed it with my chilled beer. The premium eel rice bowl arrived sooner than expected, but I didn't rush. I sipped my beer and slowly opened the lid to reveal the beautifully grilled eel packed in the bowl. The eel was perfectly cooked, with a crispy skin and tender meat, and the sauce was just right. I took a piece with my chopsticks and savored the flavors. After enjoying the eel, I balanced it with the rice. The sauce was not too sweet, and the rice was well-cooked. I sprinkled some sansho pepper on top for extra flavor. The meal was delicious, and I felt content. It was still before noon, and the restaurant was not too busy, allowing me to enjoy my meal in peace. I paid a total of 5600 yen for the premium eel rice bowl (4600 yen), a bottle of beer (600 yen), and edamame (400 yen). Thank you for the wonderful meal, I look forward to visiting again. Additional note: I would like to try eel with steamed preparation, which is my preferred style.

Lunch today was eel. The total bill was 13,600 yen. I also had a Kirin Classic Lager for 600 yen, grilled eel liver for 1,300 yen, eel bones for 1,200 yen, eel intestines for 1,300 yen, eel rice bowl (large) for 3,000 yen, and steamed eel on a bamboo steamer (large) for 3,200 yen. The steamed eel had a fluffy texture and the eel rice bowl was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It was delicious! I'm grateful to be alive.

I ordered the delicious beer and steamed eel. The beer was generously filled with eel, which is always a plus. The steamed eel had a good portion size and no unpleasant smell. I left feeling satisfied. There were several customers dining alone, so don't be intimidated by the appearance of the place. It's actually very welcoming and enjoyable.

In Juso, there is a restaurant called "Unagi Charyo Fukuyama." Sometimes, don't you just crave eel like crazy? To satisfy my eel cravings, I visited this restaurant rumored to serve delicious eel. I was torn between the fluffy steamed eel and the crispy grilled eel, but the grilled eel served here was amazing. I heard you can also try the eel bones (only available in courses). Despite the initial hesitation, we decided to give it a try and went there. We ordered an eel rice bowl and steamed eel. The eel rice bowl came in two sizes: regular and premium. As we enjoyed our beers, we savored the tender eel rolls before the eel rice bowl arrived. It was delicious, with a sauce that complemented the rice perfectly. The steamed eel that my companion ordered was also excellent, with piping hot rice. We found a great restaurant.

On August 6, 2022, while traveling, I visited a plant-filled restaurant called Unagi Charyo Fukuyama in Osaka, Esaka. The entrance approach to the restaurant is very nice, with a traditional Japanese garden featuring maple trees, evergreen oaks, and nandina. Inside the restaurant, there are table seats and sunken kotatsu seats, making it a comfortable place to dine. The tables are positioned so you can enjoy the view of the beautiful garden. I had the Unaju (grilled eel over rice) for 2800 yen, and it was delicious. Even the view on the way back, with the garden lit up, was lovely. I recommend this restaurant to plant lovers like me. Taichi.

I visited for lunch on a regular day. I entered the traditional house-style building and was guided to a quiet Japanese-style space. I decided to order the special steamed eel (4500 yen) and added grilled eel liver (1300 yen). After a while, the grilled eel liver arrived first. It looked delicious with colorful side dishes. Next, the steamed eel arrived. When the lid was opened, there was a beautiful layer of eel with fluffy egg on top. The color was nice and it looked like a fluffy grilled eel. I took a bite right away, and it was hot and tender. The eel was mostly steamed with little grilling, and the sauce was light and hot until the end. Next time, I will try the eel rice bowl. I headed to a place called Unagi Charyo Fukuyama, located quite far northwest from Esaka Station. It was around noon when I arrived, and the restaurant had a traditional Japanese atmosphere in a residential area. I felt a bit embarrassed in my casual clothes and Crocs. Looking at the menu, they offered steamed eel as well, but I decided to go for the eel rice bowl. I opted for the premium eel rice bowl for 4,300 yen, as I felt a half portion wouldn't be enough. I only had 3,000 yen in my wallet, so I made sure they accepted cards before ordering. The eel rice bowl arrived with liver sashimi and pickles on the side. The eel had a nice crispy texture and a subtle savory flavor. The sauce was light and there was additional eel sauce on the table for adjusting the taste. It was delicious, and I was glad I ordered the premium option. I would like to come back to try their steamed eel and maybe even raw eel if I have the chance.

☆彡In summer, we often crave eel, right? This time, I visited a specialty eel restaurant in Esaka for the first time. I ordered the Special Eel Rice Bowl (1 tail for 4,300 yen) which came with liver sashimi and pickles. I arrived as the first customer when they opened at 11:30 on a weekday, and all seats except mine were reserved. The reputation was that they do not steam the eel but grill it on a hot plate. The eel arrived in about 10 minutes, and it was grilled belly-up, making it easy to eat. However, I noticed a difference as I ate. Although it's called Kansai-style, it was closer to the Fukuoka and Yanagawa style, with a light and sweet-salty taste that reminded me of Kyushu soy sauce. The popular menu here is the "steamed in a steamer" with shredded omelet, but around the midsummer day of the Ox, only charcoal-grilled Yanagawa-style eel dishes are served, which I came to understand after ordering. The eel that arrived shortly after ordering was thickly grilled and had a rich flavor. The aftertaste left a strong umami taste of the eel. Recommended for those who seek the true taste of eel. Since I was the first customer on a weekday afternoon, the clientele was mostly middle-aged to elderly, and the eel was easy to eat, tailored to that age group. It was my first visit, and except for my seat, the restaurant was fully booked with reservations. Even on a weekday afternoon, reservations are better at this time of year. I enjoyed delicious eel dishes. I ordered both the steamed eel and the eel rice bowl. The steamed eel was light and elegant in flavor, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Personally, I preferred the steamed eel, but the eel rice bowl was also delicious with crispy skin and tender meat. The additional eel roll was also tasty with a delicate dashi flavor. This time I visited Enzaka for a private occasion. I visited Unagi Charyo Fukuyama in Enzaka. The store has a charming exterior and a clean and tidy interior. I ordered Umaki, Wine Simmered, Shiroyaki, and Unaju this time. It was my first time trying the Wine Simmered dish.

I came to Fukuyama-san for eel even though the midsummer day of the ox is still ahead. The store's appearance and customer service were very polite. It was my first time trying steamed eel in a steamer! The eel was fluffy and perfectly cooked. It had a different deliciousness compared to eel over rice. I ordered the red wine stew from the menu, which was surprisingly the most delicious! One disappointing thing was that I was seated on the second floor and there was no sauce on the table. Overall, the flavors were mild, so I wanted to add sauce to my liking. I was hoping it would be brought to me along with the dishes, but it seemed like it wouldn't come out unless requested. Since I have a small appetite, I couldn't order more, but I wished I could have asked for a smaller portion of rice and another dish! Maybe next time?

You can only eat live eel at this eel restaurant in Osaka. It goes really well with ponzu sauce. However, they may not always have live eel available due to the busy washing process, so it's a matter of luck if you can eat it that day. The eel simmered in red wine was innovative and delicious. While they also offer eel over rice and steamed eel, I highly recommend the eel over rice. Despite being located in Esaka, Fuku-yama is recommended over eel restaurants in places like Tanimachi.

It seems to be a popular restaurant near Esaka. It's been a while since I had eel (^^) The restaurant has a nice traditional Japanese house-style atmosphere. There are about 3 parking spaces which is convenient! At first glance, it seems like there are many seats. Surprisingly, they had eel steamed in a steamer! So, I tried the Steamed Eel Special (4300 yen) and the Eel Rice Bowl Special (4100 yen). Both dishes come with the same amount of eel, cooked in the Kansai style. The rice in the steamed dish is steamed with sauce, so it's a bit soft. It was delicious in its own way ( ´∀`). The rice in the eel rice bowl was a bit too soft for my liking, which was disappointing. As for the eel, there was nothing particularly outstanding, but it was simply delicious! I personally preferred the eel steamed dish here (*^_^*) Eel has become more expensive and luxurious these days (^^;) It was a delicious eel meal after a long time!

I ended up coming here again. This is my second visit, and this time I tried the seiro. People from Kansai don't usually eat seiro, but it was really delicious. It really depends on personal preference. Next time, I will order the unaju. It was lunchtime, so the restaurant was almost full. The parking lot was also full. I recommend visiting early or making a reservation.

I took my child who loves eel to an eel restaurant. We couldn't get in anywhere without a reservation, so I searched online and found this place. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, and the food was delicious! This time we had the regular eel, but next time I want to go for the premium eel!
