On August 14th, I had to stay near the office to prepare for the arrival of Typhoon No. 7 the next day. After work, I checked in and decided to have dinner at "Harie Kintetsu Uehonmachi Store," which I visited for the first time in 5 years. I ordered the following: - Minced Cutlet: 950 yen - Large Rice: +110 yen (both prices include tax) Here is a brief review: Minced Cutlet (with Large Rice): The set meal includes rice, red miso soup, and pickles. I first tried the minced cutlet at the "Harie Curry Shop" in Namba over 30 years ago when it was around 600 yen. I don't remember the current price, but back then, the set didn't include red miso soup and pickles, and the rice was served on a plate with Harie's special fukujinzuke. There was no mini tomato on the cabbage either. Let's dig in. I took a big bite of the minced cutlet. Delicious!!! The finely ground Wagyu beef, thinly coated and fried, combined with Harie's special demi-glace sauce creates the perfect harmony!!! It hasn't changed at all!!! The spaghetti side dish with ketchup flavor is also nostalgic!!! The rice is tasty, and the red miso soup is good too!!! Next time, I want to try the limited-time menu "Shrimp Fry and Minced Cutlet," which was sold out this time. I am satisfied!!! Thank you for the meal!!!

It is located on the basement floor of Kintetsu Uehonmachi. Harie-san is a famous sukiyaki restaurant in Osaka, and this is their set meal restaurant. I ordered the grilled meat set meal. The sauce was plentiful and the flavor was strong, but the meat was delicious. It came out fairly quickly, so there were many solo diners who seemed to want to eat quickly. Thank you for the meal!

"Hariju" Beef Bowl for 935 yen, established in 1919. I think it is the most famous "Hitori-don" in Osaka. But, in areas like Kanto, there is a dominant pork culture, so maybe the most famous "Hitori-don" in Japan or even the world. I don't eat "Hitori-don" that often because there is "Oyako-don" in that world. The naming of "Hitori-don" that goes beyond people and cows is endearing. That's the charm of "Hitori-don." Hariju-san. As expected, there is no chicken on the menu, only beef dishes like beef cutlet, sukiyaki, steak, beef hamburger, beef barbecue set, and lunch menu. "Beef One" is a name I've heard since elementary school but have never tried. This might be fatal for someone from Osaka. The perfectly cooked egg and tender beef are a delight. The thin slices of beef are cooked just right without becoming tough, and the combination with the half-cooked egg is amazing. The taste leans more towards the sukiyaki flavor than the dashi flavor of Oyako-don. The aroma of sukiyaki fills the mind. The pepper sprinkled on top is a nice touch. It's delicious. People in Kanto who haven't tried this dish might be missing out. I love Oyako-don, but this Beef Bowl is different. It's elegant with the egg wrapping around the beef slices. They only use female black wagyu beef. It's nostalgic and delicious, making you appreciate the taste of beef. This restaurant has been featured in newspapers and magazines since the Taisho era, a cultural icon of Osaka. Beef lovers and sukiyaki fans should definitely try it at least once.

I had heard that Hariju's curry was delicious, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it exceeded my expectations. I ordered the Tonkatsu Curry for 1100 yen with an extra large serving of rice for 110 yen, totaling 1210 yen. The curry had a rich flavor, deep umami taste, a perfect balance of sweetness and gentle spiciness, and a nice thickness that I enjoyed. It reminded me a bit of CoCo Ichibanya curry, but with a little more thickness. And of course, the tonkatsu was delicious as well. I hadn't had the chance to try it before, but now I feel like I must make time to go back and try more dishes.

I wanted to eat my favorite beef cutlet, so I visited the restaurant after a long time. The miso soup served on the side was warm, of course. There are also cozy restaurants like this one. The side vegetables included shredded cabbage and ketchup pasta, elegantly presented. The beef cutlet itself was tender, but I was surprised by how thin it was. The cashier was friendly, but is this the quality of the pork cutlet set? It's 30% more expensive than the pork cutlet curry at San Marco on the same floor, but it's tough and lacks flavor. I've been curious about the curry, but it turned out to be a cheap imitation that doesn't even compare to instant curry. I paid around 1500 yen for the set with salad, but it's disappointing.

It might be good for the elderly or those without teeth, but the meat was soft and flabby. The taste of the demi-glace sauce overshadowed the taste of the meat itself. There was no noticeable smell. The label on the menu saying "even more delicious now" was sad. Pickles were included for free, but they were small. The miso soup was on the salty side. Overall, this place is more suited for yakiniku (Japanese BBQ).

I had a small Super Dry beer with tonkatsu, followed by Beef Wan. The tonkatsu wasn't bad, but it lacked any real deliciousness. It's not the kind of taste worth going out to eat for. The sauce had no special flavor, and I had to add mustard to finish it. Beef Wan was average, but the traditional seasoning of the rice bowl made it enjoyable. The meat in Beef Wan was tender but lacked flavor, leaving me with no strong impression. I don't think it's right to talk about the taste of Beef Wan as being like a "hariju" (a type of dish) - it doesn't have the qualifications to be called that.

There is a monthly limited menu that I always check out (lol). In January, it's "Beef Stroganoff." After seeing the menu in front of the restaurant, I decided to try it and visited the place later. As expected from a meat shop! There were thick slices of meat in abundance!! It's a type where the meat and mushrooms are sautéed and mixed with sauce. The meat is delicious, and the sauce is also amazing! It goes well with rice and the spaghetti side dish. "Thank you for the meal ☺︎"

The long-established restaurant Harijyu in Honmachi, near Kintetsu Dotonbori, is conveniently located on the basement floor. The Beef Wan (Hitori-don) was delicious with a generous portion. The elegant bowl size made the rice portion light. It was a good amount for lunch, but a bit small for dinner when hungry and needing energy. However, the affordable price makes it worth it. The Sukiyaki set meal had even softer meat than the Beef Wan. The L-shaped counter seats make it easy to enjoy quality meat dishes. I want to try other menu items as well. I have visited the restaurants with tatami rooms, grills, and curry shops in Dotonbori, but this was my first time here. Without any prior knowledge, I went in thinking it was a beef bowl place, but then I saw this menu right in front of me. I thought maybe it was only in Uehommachi, so I switched to this without hesitation. The tenderness of the meat and the crispiness of the frying were exquisite. The deliciousness was on par with a specialty tonkatsu shop, and the value for 1188 yen including tax was definitely worth it. Do not underestimate the eat-in options.

<First Visit in February 2019> It was a weekday afternoon, or more accurately, just before 11 am, so it was still around breakfast time, I guess? After finishing up some errands in the Uehommachi area, I was thinking about having an early lunch. It was still too early for lunchtime, so the options for open restaurants were limited. I searched on Tabelog and found this place that opens at 10 am! It is located on the first floor of Kintetsu Department Store Uehommachi, with only 10 counter seats in a bright and clean interior. The extremely polite service may be due to the high standards or because it is inside a department store. I ordered the following: - Sukiyaki set meal (comes with red miso soup) (¥2160) - Beef cutlet curry (¥1296) - Large size (¥108) The sukiyaki set meal was a big hit! The ample amount of beef soaked in a sweet sauce spread happiness in my mouth. On the other hand, the curry was a slightly sweet and average Western-style curry. The beef cutlet had a nice marbling. I will definitely revisit for the sukiyaki set meal!

After shopping at Kintetsu Department Store, I decided to stop by the restaurant. I usually have sukiyaki at the main store in Dotonbori, so last time I tried the sukiyaki set here, but it wasn't really to my liking. This time, I ordered the beef curry instead. The curry had a strong curry powder flavor, a yellowish color, and a thin sauce, but it was quite delicious. Next time, I want to try the hamburger. It's a casual dining place where you can relax. I also bought minced cutlets and curry as souvenirs. The staff were friendly and made the experience pleasant.

You don't have to go all the way to Dotonbori, as you can relax and enjoy your meal here. The customer base is mostly older, so it can be a bit annoying at times, but the pace is slow and leisurely, making you forget that you are dining under the department store of Kintetsu.
