While reading the press release, I found out that a new ramen shop will be opening on July 14th. I remembered that it used to be the Chashu Kobo before, but the previous owner closed the shop in March, and now the apprentice has opened a new shop as the 2nd generation. On the opening day, the menu was limited, so I tried the soy sauce ramen and small rice. I have various thoughts, but I remember when I first started my job, so I think it's not good to criticize too much at the beginning. The real competition starts now. It was a delicious experience. Thank you very much.

Visited "Chashu Kobo" in Takikawa City with a total of 8 people in early December 2021. The restaurant's specialty is ramen (miso, salt, shoyu) served in an iron pot and comes with zangi as a service. While I know of restaurants where ordering fried rice automatically comes with ramen, this was the first time encountering a place where ramen comes with zangi. The interior of the restaurant is not particularly clean, especially the sunken kotatsu tables that seem to have black sticky paint (feels sticky) peeling off in places, giving an unattractive appearance that may deter some people. The owner, who appears to be in his 60s, has a voice that could be mistaken for Tenryu Genichiro due to his hoarse voice. It seems like they are promoting the miso flavor here, and I chose the roasted miso, which left an impression of being somewhat salty, and the ramen itself had a junk food-like impression. However, the zangi that comes with the ramen, two pieces per ramen order, is freshly fried, juicy, and quite tasty, with a well-marinated tender meat portion. Based on my experience this time, I would say that here, the zangi takes the spotlight over the ramen.

The restaurant promotes the "revival of miso" so I ordered the miso iron pot ramen and also a mini fried rice. The iron pot is not used for cooking over direct flame, but more like a regular bowl. When you order ramen, you get two pieces of zangi, so I ate one as it is and put the other one in the ramen. For water refills, you have to go to a water dispenser at the counter instead of a water pot, but sometimes it's hard to do so as the owner sits in front of the dispenser during breaks. If you're nostalgic for Showa era ramen shops, you might like it. Well, that's just how it is.

After finishing my errands in Takikawa City, I stopped by several new restaurants for dinner around 7pm, but they were all closed. Eventually, I decided to go back to a restaurant I had seen earlier that was open. The place was called "Chashu Kobo," a ramen shop. I sat at the counter and ordered the "Ankake Shio Tanmen for 750 yen," while my companion ordered the "Tetsu Nabe Ramen (Miso) for 680 yen." The Tanmen had a generous amount of vegetables and a hot thick sauce, which made it very satisfying. The Tetsu Nabe Ramen had a rich red miso-based soup that paired well with the medium-thin curly noodles. When you order ramen here, they also give you 2 pieces of Zangi as a bonus, which was a nice touch.

The name used to be Toriking, but it seems to have changed at some point. They have a sign promoting the comeback of miso flavor. I tried the Iron Pot Miso for 680 yen, but with a SORA coupon, it was only 500 yen. The iron pot is just the container, not used for cooking. The vegetables are simmered instead of stir-fried, making it light and easy to eat. The chewy medium Sapporo noodles go well with it. I was happy to receive 2 freshly fried Zangi as a service. I will definitely visit again soon. Thank you for the meal.

The chashu is fluffy, but overly sweet. There seems to be a strong emphasis on chashu, but the sweetness seeps into the soup and the thick noodles become too chewy. Initially good, but the sweetness from the chashu blending into the soup makes it boring halfway through. A ramen with no firmness that I have eaten before. This time I chose salt, but maybe miso would go well with the sweet chashu? I would like to try it with miso next time. The extra large serving is appreciated.

I received the Iron Pot Miso Ramen for 680 yen. My impression is... it's neither good nor bad, just average. Maybe it's because I haven't had miso ramen in a while, but it was a bit salty.

I moved to Takigawa and am searching for a ramen shop. I remember visiting the main store when it first opened. I ordered the salt ramen as usual. I remember the hot iron pot arriving. The taste and firmness of the noodles were just right and delicious. I will visit again.

There have been some changes since the other reviews, so I will make some corrections. First, the ramen no longer comes with zangi. The restaurant has become very clean.

Iron pot miso ramen, strong flavor with green onion and salt, slightly thick noodles, average amount of chashu. Not bad. Appreciate the complimentary service. The portion was a bit on the generous side. The owner is friendly but tends to make jokes.
