I decided to go to a famous ramen shop called "Watamen" in Kawachimatsubara, Osaka on my day off. I heard that there is always a long line at this shop. It was a bit difficult to get there by car or train, but I finally made up my mind to go. I took the subway from Taniguchi to Tennoji, then walked to Abenobashi Station to catch the Kintetsu Namba Line. It was my first time on the South Osaka Line. When I arrived at Kawachimatsubara Station, I walked for about 10 minutes to reach the shop. Luckily, there was no waiting line, so I could enter the shop easily. I bought a ticket for a large serving of tsukemen with smoked ham topping from the vending machine. I handed the ticket to the staff and waited for my order. The soup was a standard blend of pork bone and seafood, with a subtle pork bone aroma and rich flavor. The homemade medium-thick noodles were smooth and had a great texture. The chashu was tender and delicious, but the highlight was the smoked ham topping. The smoked flavor was amazing, and the ham was moist and flavorful. I was impressed by the delicious tsukemen at this long-awaited shop. I left the shop feeling satisfied and looking forward to trying their ramen next time!

On the way from Osaka city to World Farm, I found a ramen shop that caught my attention. It was around 12:30 pm and luckily I was able to enter right away. The interior of the shop had tables only, and I purchased a meal ticket and was guided to my seat by the lady (owner?). The tonkotsu ramen soup had a light taste despite being tonkotsu. The noodles were not too hard or too soft, with a medium thickness. It was delicious! It went down smoothly into my stomach. The chashu was also very tender and tasty. If I pass by again, I will definitely stop by.

I arrived around 11:10 on a regular day. When I peeked inside, there was only one male customer. I was handed a note to sit at the counter and was told to purchase a meal ticket from the ticket machine on the right. I bought a regular tsukemen (which was listed as 2 servings of noodles) and placed it on the counter. It cost 1150 yen. I waited for about 15 minutes, during which two more customers arrived. Finally, the noodles arrived, but I had to wait a bit more for the soup. The noodles were delicious, and the soup had small pieces of tender pork belly which were also tasty. The thinly sliced pink chashu that came with the noodles was beautiful and delicious. Personally, I found the soup to be a bit too salty. It felt more like 1.5 servings of noodles rather than 2. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

The origin of tsukemen in Japan is said to have been developed and commercialized in 1955 at Daishoken in Tokyo, but there is no doubt that Miyata Menji and our shop played a significant role in establishing the tsukemen culture in Osaka. It has been 15 years since my last visit, and it was necessary for me to have this time to overcome the trauma of being scolded by the shop owner for talking too much. As always, it was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I visited this ramen shop in Osaka city after finishing my errands. The tonkotsu ramen had a rich pork bone flavor with a hint of seafood that was well balanced and high quality. The soy sauce added a nice kick and acidity to the broth, making it delicious. The noodles were smooth and had a good chewy texture with a fragrant wheat aroma. The pork slices were large, tender, and well seasoned. Overall, it was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

Self-style ramen with cotton noodles dipping noodles, regular size, ¥1,150. The thick noodles made with whole grain flour using a homemade blade No. 12 are delicious. The rich yet refreshing pork bone and seafood-based dipping sauce was so tasty that I finished every last drop. The two types of pork chashu slices, rare pork leg meat and smoked pork, did a great job. It's a delicious meal that makes you want to come back for more. ✨perfect✨ Located at 3-6-15 Matsugaoka, Matsubara City, Osaka Prefecture.

I went to my favorite ramen restaurant, Jikoryu Ramen Men, after a long time. I ordered the Japanese-style tonkotsu tsukemen with extra char siu topping. My way of eating is to warm up the rich and flavorful dipping sauce in the microwave for about 1 minute when it starts to cool down a bit, and then enjoy it with hot soup again. By adding the hot soup to the dipping sauce, you can enjoy it until the end. I recommend trying it out. Some people have written on social media that the master is unfriendly or scary, but especially when there are few customers, you can have a fun conversation with the master or mama. They will passionately talk about ramen when asked. It's an addictively delicious ramen shop that I would visit every day if my body allowed it.

"I visited 'Jikoryu Ramen Watamen' in Matsubara City and tried the 'Wafu Tonkotsu' (3 servings) for 900 yen. The broth is made from pork bones, animal-based ingredients, and seafood, with a low viscosity soy sauce soup that is mild and has a balanced soy sauce flavor. The rich taste is well enhanced by the pork bone broth and seafood flavor. The homemade straight thick noodles have a good texture with a chewy and firm bite. The chashu pork is tender with a nice seasoning that brings out the meat's umami flavor."

Char siu ramen for 1300 yen. The unique pork bone smell that some people may not like can be detected even outside the restaurant. It was a weekday lunchtime, but I was able to enter without waiting even at the opening time. The soup was not overwhelmingly strong in pork bone flavor, but had a good balance of umami and pork bone taste. There were three different types of char siu included, which may appeal to char siu lovers.

I came to this restaurant with a friend who highly recommended it. We had to wait for about 20 minutes as there were two people ahead of us in line. The owners, a friendly couple, run the place. The food wasn't as delicious as I had expected, but the atmosphere was very pleasant. Overall, it was a good experience.

The alley on a day during the 3-day weekend... Well, I was working in Kawachinagano from the morning. The next site was in Miyakojima in the afternoon... So, I headed north to buy materials at Konan Pro. There, the search for the current location on Tabelog showed... Jikoryu Ramen Watame. Many people have visited it, so without looking at detailed information, let's go! Luckily, there was parking available in front of the store, so I made a pit stop. When I opened the door, the stern-looking owner told me to wait outside. I waited, but there's a way to say things, right? When I was let in, the wife? welcomed me with a gentle tone and led me to the counter seat at the far end. First, I stared at the ticket machine! I don't eat tsukemen much, so... I was thinking of splurging on the Japanese-style tonkotsu chashu, but it was 1,300 yen, so... I settled for the Japanese-style tonkotsu ramen for 1,000 yen. I ordered it with firm noodles, without being asked about preferences, it must be the owner's specialty! Soon, it was served! Chashu, half-flavored egg, kaiware, white leek, and a rich-looking soup. First, the soup... Wow, delicious! A soy sauce-based soup blended with pork, chicken, and seafood. Slightly thick? Slurping the noodles... Yes, large size was the right choice! Smooth noodles, just the right thickness, my favorite type of noodles! Trying the chashu... I later found out it was three types of chashu! I didn't like one of them. The flavored egg was normal, and kaiware and white leek were good accents. I couldn't finish all the soup, and my throat was getting dry... I want to try the rare chashu in the tsukemen next time. Thank you for the meal.

Menu ordered: Japanese-style tonkotsu ramen for 900 yen When I thought about taking the train, it was a few tens of minutes walk from the station, so I went by car. There is a free parking space for one car in front of the store and two cars at the back of the store, which is convenient. The interior of the store has only a counter. I went around 12 o'clock on Sunday, and there was no wait, but about half of the seats were taken. After entering, I purchased my ticket at the machine and then took my seat. The ramen arrived in about 10 minutes. The soup seemed to be a combination of pork bone and seafood broth, with a soft and mellow texture. The soy sauce had a slight acidity and a fragrant, combining the richness of pork bone and the condensed rich umami, along with the refreshing umami of seafood, creating a well-balanced and silky smooth soup that was rich yet light and delicately finished, and delicious. The noodles were straight and thick with a flat surface. They had a chewy texture and a smooth surface that was easy to swallow. The rich wheat flavor came through when slurping, and it paired perfectly with the soup. The toppings included chashu, seasoned egg, green onions, and kaiware. The chashu was thick and juicy, with a good thickness and a tender texture due to being simmered in soy sauce. The seasoned egg had a light seasoning that complemented the soup well. The smell of pork bone spread throughout the store, but when eating, there was no strong pork smell. You could fully experience the pork bone flavor, but the combination with the Japanese broth made it a light and deep bowl of ramen with a high level of completion. It was a truly delicious meal. Thank you.

I visited the restaurant during lunchtime. I arrived before 12 o'clock and was able to be seated right away. There was only one other customer besides me. Despite not having great access from the nearest station, this restaurant has been selected as one of the top 100 restaurants. The interior has only a counter with 8 seats. There are no partitions between seats, and the spacing is wide. Although there is some aging, the place is well cleaned. The strong smell of pork bone might be a turn off for some people. I ordered the "tsukemen (regular) for 1150 yen" this time. I read in other reviews that the lunch menu varies depending on the day, either ramen or tsukemen, but I was able to choose either. The dish arrived in about 10 minutes. The homemade thick noodles with whole wheat have a rich wheat flavor and a chewy texture, overall high-quality noodles. The portion of noodles is quite generous even for a regular size. The dipping sauce is mainly pork bone and seafood, with a strong punch of pork bone and seafood as the supporting flavor. It has a thin and slightly wild texture, maybe a bit too overpowering for my taste, lacking synergy with the noodles and toppings. The toppings include pork belly on the dipping sauce side, rare pork shoulder on the noodle side, seasoned egg, bean sprouts, and green onions. The pork belly stands out with its rich fat content in the strong dipping sauce. On the other hand, the seasoned pork shoulder seemed to get lost in the mix with its subtle seasoning. It had a moist texture and high quality, but maybe not the best match. Overall, it was a strong pork bone and seafood tsukemen. The strong pork bone smell was not to my liking, so it didn't quite hit the spot for me, but it could be addictive for some. Thank you for the meal.

Ordered the traditional tonkotsu tsukemen with a rich pork bone broth. The flavor of the broth stood out without being overpowered by the pork bone taste, and the noodles were perfectly chewy and delicious. The combination of kaiware (daikon radish sprouts) and green onions was exceptional and elevated the dish compared to other ramen options.

Wata Men is a popular traditional tonkotsu ramen restaurant located a 20-minute walk from Hanoi Matsubara Station, or a 5-minute drive from Matsubara IC. I arrived around 12:00 on a weekday and there were already 4 customers ahead of me. I ordered the Tonkotsu Chashu Ramen for 1,300 yen, which had a soy sauce base with added seafood flavor for a Japanese twist. The soup had a perfect balance and the seafood umami hit you at the end. The homemade noodles were smooth with a nice chewy texture and a wheat aroma. The trio of chashu pork belly, rare pork shoulder, and pork loin chashu were a must-try, with a light flavor that paired well with the soup. The seasoned egg was also delicious with a light soy sauce marinade. Overall, it was a high-quality bowl of ramen. I also tried the Smoked Ham Mini Donburi for 450 yen, which had smoked pork ham with a special fruity and tangy sauce. The chef and the cheerful hostess were dedicated to serving each dish with care. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Today I worked from home and took a trip to Matsubara for lunch. I visited this place and indulged in a luxurious soy sauce ramen. The friendly hostess seated us promptly, so we didn't have to wait in line. We arrived around 11:30 am on a weekday. The chef and another staff member efficiently handled their roles without any wasted movements, as they also managed Uber Eats and other delivery services. It was refreshing to watch them work seamlessly, and it made the wait enjoyable. When our ramen arrived, I was glad I chose the chashu ramen. It came with three toppings - simmered pork, rare chashu, and braised pork - and they were all worth ordering. The rare chashu had a smooth texture and was delicious. The braised pork was tender and paired well with the rich soy sauce pork bone soup. Despite expecting a light flavor, the pork bone soup was surprisingly strong and left a lasting impression with its punchy taste. The flat medium-thick noodles were slightly softer than usual, but they complemented the soup perfectly. I noticed someone nearby enjoying the mazesoba, which smelled delicious, so I plan to try that next time.

●●Waiting Situation●● I arrived at the restaurant at 10:50 on a holiday! There are 4 people waiting outside. The smell of tonkotsu broth is quite strong inside the restaurant! LOL ●●Order●● I ordered the "tsukemen (regular)" for 1150 yen and added the "smoked ham" for 300 yen! I heard that the smoked ham was really delicious beforehand, so I decided to add it! ●●Noodles●● The noodles are thick noodles with whole wheat flour. The surface is smooth, soft, and chewy. It's not the type of noodles you often see in tsukemen, but it's delicious! ●●Dipping Sauce●● I was imagining a very rich dipping sauce due to the strong tonkotsu smell in the restaurant, but I was wrong, LOL. It mainly consists of tonkotsu broth with added umami from seafood dashi. It's structured to bring out the wheat flavor of the noodles, and you can easily slurp it up! ●●Chashu●● The slightly smoked ham is incredibly delicious! Since the dipping sauce is not too rich, the smoky flavor of the ham remains intact and tastes great. ●●Overall Impression●● It was a tsukemen with a tonkotsu-seafood dipping sauce composition that you don't often see! Thick noodles and a rich dipping sauce are more common. Personally, I prefer a lighter dipping sauce for chicken-based tsukemen, but for tonkotsu tsukemen, I prefer a richer one. Thank you for the meal!

Every 2 months, it's ramen day at Wata Men! This is my second visit to Wata Men, and I'm so excited! I went with my father and sister, aiming for the first round in the morning. When we arrived, we were the first ones there, yay! We got there about 30 minutes before opening. About 3 minutes before opening, the shutters of the shop opened, and the owner's wife guided us inside. We bought our meal tickets, got our utensils and paper, and headed to our seats. On this day, we ordered the tsukemen (regular) for 1150 yen, rare chashu topping for 300 yen, and smoked ham topping for 300 yen, totaling 1750 yen. I'm already a fan of Wata Men, so I don't mind the price. It's just so delicious. We waited for a few tens of minutes, and the dipping sauce was served first, followed by the main tsukemen a few minutes later. The owner's wife said, "I made the spring onions into a heart shape for you," and when I checked, there was indeed a cute heart-shaped spring onion decoration. It was so adorable. I felt the love. I was so happy and my heart fluttered. I felt the warmth. I expressed my gratitude to the owners for serving such wonderful tsukemen and started eating. First, I slurped a single noodle to savor the flavor. It's still delicious. The whole grain noodles are also great. I love them. Next, I dipped the noodles, smoked ham, and chashu into the dipping sauce and ate them together. Mmm, so tasty. The rare chashu had a rich meaty flavor, and the smoked ham, although thin, had a satisfying bite. I felt like I was really eating meat. The taste was amazing, with the sweetness of the meat making me crave for some white rice. I should have ordered some. The regular portion had a decent amount of noodles, but I felt like I could eat more. I'm thinking of getting the large portion next time. Delicious things disappear quickly. I finished it all in just 15 minutes. I want more. Before and after eating, I felt happy. I still love Wata Men. When we were leaving, I told the owner's wife, "It was incredibly delicious," and she replied, "Thank you! You ate a lot, didn't you?" Her kind words made me really happy. I will definitely visit again! Next time, I'll definitely get the smoked ham and rare chashu topping. Thank you for the meal! Wata Men is one of my favorite restaurants!

This is a restaurant called Ramen Hyakumeiten West in Matsubara City, Osaka. The quiet chef and friendly woman welcomed me. I bought a ticket for the Japanese-style tonkotsu ramen and ham rice bowl from the ticket machine, and soon after, the dishes arrived. The thick soup and noodles are deliciously entwined. The ham rice bowl also tastes great with the sauce and ham matching well. I would like to try the tsukemen next time, so I will revisit. Thank you for the meal.

I usually eat ramen, but after a long time, I decided to add more rare chashu to my Japanese-style tonkotsu tsukemen. The chewy noodles dipped in rich but not overpowering broth are so delicious and addictive. It's a bowl of happiness to savor. ❤️
