On Friday at 7:30 pm, I went to "Ryu no Kakurenbo" in Higashi Umeda. I ordered the "Sea Bream Shabu-shabu Course (6,600 yen) with all-you-can-drink option. The course started with a variety of shellfish sashimi such as ark shell, abalone, and trumpet shell, which was a delight for someone who loves shellfish like me. Then came the sea bream, prepared as shabu-shabu using natural sea bream with firm and delicious flesh. The sea bream broth was exquisite, and although the ponzu sauce was tasty, the broth itself was the highlight. I was especially impressed by the sea bream's milt, which was rich and creamy, surpassing the flavor of cod or anglerfish milt. We also added sea bream bones to the pot to make a flavorful broth. For the finale, we had a delicious rice porridge cooked in sea bream broth with plenty of vegetables. The combination of vegetables and the umami-rich broth was outstanding. The Sea Bream Shabu-shabu Course with all-you-can-drink option for 6,600 yen was a great deal. I will definitely come back for the sea bream's milt. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I visited again at night. It was hot today, so I had something refreshing. Since it's the season for conger eel, I had conger eel with egg. It had a cool texture and great flavor. The unique salted ginkgo nuts were five times tastier than edamame. And the onigiri here is both delicious and big, which is great.

The Kinpira Gobo had many elaborate dishes like Genovese style, and there were plenty of options. We were able to relax and forget about time in the private room. The staff's service was also very good. I would like to visit again next time.

"Umeda's Usagi-no-cho Higashi, 'Ryuu no Kakurenbo.' I noticed it when I passed by before, with an easel outside. A restaurant here? Not sure if it's open at the end of the year, but I visited at 11:40 am, with one customer already there. 10 counter seats, 4 tables in the back, 2F open only at night. Run by two cool older guys. ★Chicken Nanban Set Meal 980 yen (extra rice and refills allowed) They provide knee blankets, which is nice. Ordered and served in about 3 minutes. Chicken Nanban with homemade tartar sauce. Delicious but the portion is a bit small. Salad is also small, but there are side dishes so it's okay. Maybe I should have gone with the pork cutlet instead. The miso soup was hot and tasty. The rice was freshly cooked, which was great."

Dragon's Hide and Seek (Ukaginocho, Kita-ku, Osaka) Today, I thought it was a bit cool, and I wasn't wrong, but it wasn't as cool as I thought. The temperature was low, but the sun was strong. However, I went out to an outdoor area in Umeda without a roof for the first time in a while, passed through Ohatsu Tenjin, and headed to the Ukaginocho area. As I wandered around, I saw two figures waiting to distribute flyers in front of a store. I continued on and received a flyer while looking at the menu. It said "Chicken Nanban Set," so I decided to enter the store. The two people also entered the store and guided me to a seat. "The back is surprisingly spacious, isn't it?" Indeed, the store extended deep in an L-shape, with many seats, and unfortunately, there were no other customers at the time. The flyer mentioned a daily lunch special with an 80 yen discount, reducing the price from 980 yen to 900 yen, but I asked, "Does the Chicken Nanban not get a discount?" "I'm sorry. It's only for the daily special. Today's special is cold shabu-shabu." I like cold shabu-shabu, but I'll go with the Chicken Nanban. I ordered and the food arrived in about 7 minutes. Various side dishes were crowded on a large tray. The boiled vegetables were not uncommon, but the curry was interesting. The Chicken Nanban came with spaghetti salad and fresh vegetables. I chose the regular portion, but you can also choose the amount of rice. Before I knew it, almost all the tables in the restaurant were full. I sat at the farthest table, so it wasn't necessarily a customer draw, but this kind of thing happens fairly often.

Hi, it's Keinsuke! Today, I would like to introduce a hidden gem lunch spot called "Ryu no Kakurenbo" in Umeda Toka-no-cho. I often work in the lounge of HOLIC HOTEL nearby, and this time, I discovered a restaurant that I had never noticed before! There was a lunch menu sign outside, so I decided to go in. The place was quiet, with no other customers, and had a cozy atmosphere like a night izakaya. I chose a healthy option since I was planning to have yakiniku for dinner. I ordered the "Obanzai Teishoku" (950 yen), which came with various small dishes featuring summer vegetables like eggplant and bitter melon, along with fish and meat. It was a refreshing change from the rich flavors I usually have, and the vegetables were delicious! I also received a coupon for a discounted daily special, so I plan to come back again. It's a bit away from Umeda, but if you're looking for a hidden spot with a relaxed atmosphere for a set meal, I highly recommend it. Thank you for the meal!

I often pass by this place, where people go in, it looks like a Japanese restaurant that has been renovated from a large mansion. Today, I finally decided to try it out. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful, and the staff are elegant. I sat at the counter and ordered the "Avocado Pork Cutlet Set with 3 Side Dishes." It was lunchtime, so there weren't many people, and I waited leisurely. After about 10 minutes, the food arrived. The presentation was beautiful, and the portion size was generous. The set included three side dishes: miso soup with radish, fresh vegetables with homemade dressing, and a sweet potato salad. Each dish was delicious and well-prepared. The avocado pork cutlet was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a hint of sweetness from the fat. It was incredibly delicious. I was impressed by the quality of the food and service. I regret not getting the large rice portion, but I will definitely come back again. Thank you for the wonderful meal. Today's lunch: Avocado Pork Cutlet Set with 3 Side Dishes - 1000 yen. This is a Japanese restaurant located in Usagino Town. The exterior of the restaurant, with its black door, doesn't give away the spacious dining area inside. Upon entering, you'll find a small garden and then a dining space with a counter and kitchen on the left, and tables in the back on the right. The menu offers creative Japanese dishes ranging from around 500 yen, with about half of them featuring seasonal vegetables. We tried dishes like winter melon stew, octopus bites, egg salad, fig and prosciutto, and tamago kake gohan, along with some non-alcoholic beer, totaling around 5000 yen for two people. The dishes were visually appealing and had a consistently good taste. The portion sizes were perfect for sharing among 2-3 people. The tamago kake gohan we had at the end was incredibly creamy and delicious. The restaurant also has a wide selection of sake, champagne, and wine. Overall, it's a versatile and enjoyable dining spot. Thank you for the meal! This is a Japanese restaurant located in Uzumenocho, a 10-minute walk from Umeda Station. I decided to try their lunch menu after seeing it while passing by. The interior of the restaurant was still new and clean. There were about 5 lunch menu options available. I ordered the Avobuta pork cutlet set, and the pork was incredibly tender and delicious. It was my first time hearing about Avobuta pork, and it was really good. The set also came with red miso soup and several side dishes, which was great for someone like me, a male office worker who doesn't often have the opportunity to eat vegetables. I thought the price of 1000 yen was cheap. They also offer takeout, so I would like to try it next time.

Hidden gem in Kita-ku, Osaka... I had been wanting to try this place for a while! It's hard to find and you never know if it's open! Haha... They usually don't accept new customers, but luckily we were able to get in this time. Thank you so much. - Tai-no-ko (cod roe) - Okinawa mozuku seaweed - Assorted sashimi Each dish was delicious. - Japanese-style simmered pig's feet Highly recommended! Easy to eat with a gentle flavor. - Homemade cream cheese miso pickles A must-try. You'll keep coming back for more. - Prosciutto and fig I love this combination of sweet figs and salty prosciutto topped with a little caviar. - Apo pork steak Even though we were already full, my husband devoured it all. - Special egg over rice Highly recommended! Fluffy white and rich yellow eggs... just so fluffy. - Tororo zosui (gruel with grated yam) The gentle, soothing taste at the end was amazing. I visited again later and I want to go back soon.
