The crocodile meat had no excess fat, was very chewy, and very delicious. There isn't much to eat in crayfish. Coriander is used to get rid of the meat's smell.

The duck head/neck dish was said to be delicious but it was sold out. When I tried to order alligator, it was also sold out. Since many dishes were sold out, I asked for recommendations and ended up ordering grilled skewers like silkworm pupae. On a side note, the female staff member had beautiful smooth cheeks, which made me smile.

Located at the west exit of Ikebukuro Station, this shop here. Ikebukuro's west exit, it's been a while since I came here, but it's completely Chinatown-ified. With the area being Chinatown-ified, there are many delicious Chinese restaurants around here. Personally, I like Eiri Ikebukuro Honten the best and have visited many times. The taste is not tailored for Japanese people, but for Chinese people, so you can enjoy the authentic taste. This time, I came for the lamb skewers. These are... delicious! Not too strong in flavor, and easy on the stomach, so they are easy to eat. Looking at the other menu items... "Crab"... "Alligator"... Wait, can you eat those?... I didn't have the courage to order them, but it's a rare shop where you can enjoy exotic dishes. I'm always surprised, but Chinese food culture is amazing. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I posted on Facebook that I had eaten duck neck in Okubo and received a lot of reactions such as "I want to try it," "I'm curious," and "Take me with you." I decided to look into whether I could buy duck neck nearby and found out that there was a place in Ikebukuro that sells it, and they also offer takeout! Despite a past incident where I couldn't communicate in Japanese at a Chinese restaurant in Tokyo, I decided to go and was surprised to find staff who spoke fluent Japanese. I ordered the duck neck and head, and also bought a sweet and healthy canned drink called "Wanglaoji" to bring to a local bar. The duck meat was a bit softer than the ducks in Okubo, and had the same unique aroma. The head was intact and the staff recommended microwaving it before eating. It was delicious, and I look forward to visiting the restaurant in person next time. The restaurant had a very Chinese atmosphere, so I'm excited to go back and try more dishes.

In the Ikebukuro North Exit area, I was drawn to a sign outside with the word "crocodile". The shop was small, with tightly packed box seats where your knees would bump into the person across from you. Beer was priced at ¥380, which is cheaper than average. The menu had a small selection of dishes at lower prices, making it easy to have a casual drink. I tried the lamb skewers, honeycomb tripe with chili oil, and dried tofu salad. The portions were small, which was just right for a few people. I wanted to try crocodile and quail, but the staff hurried me out before I could order. Literally, I left the store feeling chased (laughs). If you're interested, I recommend ordering crocodile first!

A suddenly appeared Chinese Northeastern cuisine restaurant. Located on the second floor of a building where Fukushin is located, and on the third floor is Daichokei Mala Tang. The reason I visited here is one: I heard that they serve Australian sea crocodile. Crocodile in Northeastern cuisine!? I was surprised, but curiosity got the best of me, so I visited with my friends who are Chinese cuisine enthusiasts. They offer crocodile meat in three ways: on skewers, as a dish, and as a small leg. We were particularly interested in the small leg. We also ordered the other specialty dish, the Mala skewer hot pot with honeycomb tripe (10 skewers + vegetables). The menu here is very affordable, with skewers priced at 168 yen each and dishes at 490 yen. Beer is also priced at 380 yen, which is very reasonable. However, the crocodile meat dishes (small leg and honeycomb tripe) are expensive, priced at 1,980 yen, so be careful. It is recommended to order with a larger group. The honeycomb tripe dish is quite spicy, but the base soup has a delicious umami flavor, making it a unique and addictive taste. The tender honeycomb tripe is also delicious. Although the dish looks luxurious and has an attractive taste, it was painful that it was the same price as 20 skewers of honeycomb tripe (12 skewers + 4 tofu skins + 4 wood ear mushrooms). Since there was no price indication inside the restaurant, it was my fault for not confirming before ordering... I recommend ordering 20 skewers of honeycomb tripe here. The crocodile meat small leg has a strong fibrous texture, but it is easy to chew. It has a texture closer to local chicken than frog. It has no particular strong taste, and is seasoned with cumin and chili powder typical of Northeastern cuisine. The parts with tendons have a slight wild animal smell, but overall it is refreshing. It is easier to eat than the crocodile meat skewer small leg, but in terms of interesting taste, the small leg is better. It's quite an interesting restaurant that caters to enthusiasts.

A friend found an interesting sign in Ikebukuro, so we gathered our usual girls' night out group. When we arrived at the restaurant we were looking for, we saw a sign that said "Crocodile meat." Crocodile meat? Can you eat that? We were a bit hesitant but decided to give it a try. We were seated in a booth and ordered the crocodile meat along with some drinks and other dishes. When it arrived, we were surprised to see a crocodile leg on the plate! We couldn't help but scream in a girly way. The taste, however, was unexpectedly light and delicious! There were many other unique dishes that you wouldn't normally find in Japanese izakayas, but the staff kindly explained them to us in broken Japanese. I don't often have the chance to go to Ikebukuro, but I would love to come back if given the opportunity!
