Lovely Bento (Ooseki, Moji-ku, Kitakyushu City) I heard there was a bento shop that opens at 8:00 in the morning, so I arrived at the location at 8:05. After spending the night at a hotel in Moji Port, I followed the navigation system and arrived at the place by crossing a narrow one-lane mountain road. I parked my car next to the yellow wagon, the shop's landmark. However, the shutter was closed. I was disappointed, but then I noticed a delicious smell of chicken cutlets or fried chicken. Suddenly, fingers appeared from the holes in the shutter and it opened. The staff said they thought they wouldn't open today, but luckily they did. I ordered a chicken cutlet with an additional fried chicken. The portion was generous, and the rice was hot and tempting. The bento was well-balanced with a side of simmered dish. It was perfect for brunch. Highly recommended!

Daily bento (minced cutlet) for 450 yen. Be careful, you might miss it, so here's a quick review with no ratings. This bento shop is located in a slightly remote area in Moji Ward, but for those who live around here, it's not really remote at all. They have three types of daily bentos that are pre-made, with a rice refill system. When asked about the rice portion, I said normal, but when I got home and checked, it was actually a lot of rice. I wonder how much it would be if I had chosen the large portion. The minced cutlet is made with pork and has a chunky texture, topped with aurora sauce. There's also a little bit of pork and vegetable stir-fry, pickles, etc. The rice has a very low water content, giving it a crumbly texture. I think it slightly deviates from the preferred water content range, but I'm not sure. Thank you for the meal.

I arrived around 9:30, but they were already out of the daily special. Disappointed, I ordered the large serving of rice with minced cutlet. The large serving weighed 730g.

I was surprised by the generous portion of rice in the regular size bento box I bought at a branch before, Lovely. This time, I visited the main store. The daily special was sold out, so I had them pack something random for me. The amount of rice was more moderate compared to the branch, but I still felt incredibly full. And all of this for 555 yen including the bag fee is a great deal for a salaryman like me. I feel like this bento box could easily be enough for two meals. I really shouldn't be eating this much at my age.

I happened to come across a bento shop and asked if they had any leftover bento as I didn't feel like cooking dinner. They said they were out of rice for the day, but they could make some dishes without rice. They prepared three dishes for my family - karaage, hamburger, and salted mackerel. Each dish was 380 yen. The staff, consisting of three friendly ladies, were very accommodating. The dishes included a main dish and about 5-6 side dishes such as vegetables, simmered dishes, and pickles. It was a delicious dinner. I forgot to take a picture as I quickly ate the food! Sorry about that. I only had time to look at the menu posted on the door while waiting.
