I was running late at work, so I decided to try out a curry restaurant that had caught my eye. I always go for the basic beef curry with cheese at any curry place, so that's what I ordered. It looked dark in color, and apparently it had squid ink in it, but since it's curry, I couldn't really tell. The taste was on the sweeter side, which I like, and it was delicious. The restaurant calls itself "Senba Curry," but it's not really curry - more like a Western-style curry. The meat was not cubed but flat and tender, with a slightly sweet flavor. It wasn't overpowering, but it's the kind of curry I would crave every now and then.

I had a late lunch, or more like an early dinner, because I couldn't bear the hunger. There were no customers, probably because of the odd timing. I ordered chicken cutlet curry with salad. The dressing on the salad was refreshing and tasty, but the greens were a bit dry. The curry had a unique sweetness to it, which was very delicious. However, it lacked spiciness, so it didn't have a strong flavor. Nevertheless, it was still good. I opted for a medium portion of rice and it turned out to be quite filling. There was plenty of curry sauce, so it remained tasty until the last bite.

It's about a 5-minute walk from Osaka Metro Honmachi Station to "Fune Curry Minamikubo Temple Store" (o^^o). Today, I'm on a business trip to Osaka for the first time in 5 and a half years! When I lived in Osaka about 15 years ago due to a job transfer, my favorite curry rice was from "Fune Curry"! My favorite menu is the "Beef Tendon Curry". The sweet and spicy black curry with squid ink is a feature of Fune Curry. The curry roux is rich and flavorful, and especially the "Beef Tendon Curry" has the aroma of beef tendon that enhances the depth of flavor in this rich roux, creating a synergistic umami effect... no, a tripled umami effect! I was able to enjoy Fune Curry after 5 and a half years! (о´∀`о) Thank you for the feast today!

Yesterday, I had a rare solo lunch and decided to try a new restaurant, so I went to Funaba Curry. It was quite crowded during lunchtime, so I was prepared to share a table. I ordered the Cheese Pork Cutlet Curry with a small portion of rice (-50 yen) for 820 yen. The rice portion is normally 280g, so the option for a smaller portion was convenient. The curry arrived, dark and black in color, with a thin pork cutlet topped with cheese. The curry had a sweet and spicy flavor, the original Funaba Curry taste. Personally, I liked the hint of acidity in it. Additionally, Funaba Curry provides complimentary pickled radish and mixed pickles. I enjoyed munching on them. Despite its dark color, the curry had a consistent and delicious taste. I occasionally crave it. And it's cheap! Next time, I want to try the Osaka specialty, Tendon Curry. Thank you for the meal!

Osaka's CBD, the curry restaurant "Funamachi Curry Minamikuhouji Store". The interior of the store has a retro cafe-like atmosphere. Perhaps because it is located in a business district, there are many counter seats, making it easy for even solo diners to enter.
- Beef tendon and leek curry (970 yen)
This popular curry dish features beef tendon and leeks. The dark color comes from the healthy and beauty benefits of squid ink. The beef tendon melts in your mouth, it's so tender. The curry roux has a deep richness with the sweetness of squid ink and beef. Highly addictive!

In Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, there is a curry specialty restaurant called "Curry Rice." Their curry roux is unique because it contains squid ink, giving it a darker color than usual. It is said to have various health benefits in addition to enhancing the flavor. I ordered their Osaka specialty, the No. 1 "Beef Tendon and Green Onion Curry." The roux had a spicy kick with a rich umami flavor that paired well with the beef tendon. However, I felt like there were too many green onions in the dish. This may just be my personal preference though.

I have a perception that there are many good curry restaurants around Nagahoribashi in Osaka for business trips, but this place is also delicious. The curry with squid ink is black and the red of the fukujinzuke stands out. I ordered the beef tendon curry, which was described as flavorful. The taste was sweet and spicy with a deep richness, which I enjoyed!

I haven't had Ship Curry in a long time. As I was walking and thinking about what to eat, I came across Ship Curry. I had to go in, right? I ordered the Beef Tendon and Green Onion Curry. I like it more than a certain Coco restaurant. Oh, it was delicious. Overall rating: 5 - Excellent restaurant + extra, 4.5 - Excellent restaurant, 4 - Very delicious restaurant, 3.5 - Delicious restaurant, 3 - Average restaurant, 2.5 - Slightly disappointing restaurant, 2 - Disappointing restaurant, 1.5 - Unmotivated restaurant, 1 - Regrettable restaurant.

"Funamachi Curry" is a curry restaurant that often comes up when searching for curry in Osaka, and I wanted to try it because it has the name of a place attached to it. Recently, spice curry seems to be more popular in Osaka, but I prefer the sweet and spicy curry, European-style curry, or thick curry like the one you find in diners, which seem to be the characteristics of Osaka curry. This is a black curry made with squid ink, which seems to have the characteristic sweet and spicy flavor of Osaka curry. Since I like thick curry, I visited this place. The Beef Curry in a small portion is actually quite filling, even though I wasn't very hungry at the time. I ordered the small size with 180g of rice as a safety measure, but it turned out to be a lot of food - you can't even see the rice because of the amount of beef! There was a lot of curry sauce left over since the portion was small. Even if you're hungry, this amount is definitely enough. The spiciness leans slightly towards the "spicy" side, and it gets spicier as you eat more. However, it's flavorful and enjoyable. The black color comes from the squid ink, but you can hardly taste it. The fact that you can have unlimited pickles is great. It was delicious, thank you for the meal.

I have a memory of eating a delicious beef tendon and green onion curry at Funamachi Curry a long time ago. No one is interested in this story, but I believe it was when I was dumped by a girlfriend who lived in Minami-Funamachi. I happened to pass by after a long time, so I decided to go in. I ordered the same "beef tendon and green onion curry" as back then. I remembered the taste from that time. The first bite brings a soft sweetness, followed by umami and richness. As you eat, the spiciness gradually kicks in. Although I don't really sense the squid ink flavor as much as the black roux suggests, the depth of richness gives that effect. On the table, there are pickled radish and Fukujin pickles. The crispy white leeks, soaked in water for a long time to remove the spiciness, are generously piled on top, which is a nice touch. The rice is on the softer side. I prefer it a bit firmer, so I was slightly disappointed. Whether it was the curry that seeped into my wounded heart from being dumped back then, or my taste buds and stomach have become more refined after 10 years of eating various foods, I feel like the impact wasn't as strong as it used to be. The staff were incredibly friendly and provided great service. I left today feeling full and satisfied.

A curry chain established in 1997. This was my first time visiting the Minamikuboji store, but I have been to other locations a few times. They boast the use of squid ink, which gives their curry a distinctive black color. The beef curry made with Australian beef is tender and delicious. The pork cutlet curry uses a roux and is also a popular menu item. The curry has a high addictive quality that makes you want to eat it regularly. Even the regular size portion is generous, making it a good choice for students and salarymen. The spiciness is not too strong, so those who like it spicy may want to add more heat.

I was a bit embarrassed on my first visit. I had trouble deciding between the roasted pork cutlet and the beef tendon with green onions, but ended up choosing the beef tendon with green onions because it was on sale for 870 yen instead of 970 yen. The dish had a generous amount of green onions on top of a pitch-black sauce, with a lot of beef tendon as well. The portion was huge and it was delicious, so I managed to finish it all. I highly recommend this place and next time I'll try the pork cutlet for sure.

The distinctive feature of Funamachi Curry is its black curry roux. I ordered the pork cutlet curry. The pork cutlet was sliced into bite-sized pieces, which I personally felt was cut too small. Both the pork cutlet and rice were generously portioned, so it was quite filling. The prices are also reasonable in my opinion.

The food is as delicious as ever. When a woman orders a large serving, they confirm about 4 times. If you don't get the cheese topping, you can eat a large serving without any problem. The cheese topping is tasty but a bit heavy. I like the beef and spinach curry, but the pork cutlet curry was also good with a crispy and light cutlet.

A little overwhelmed with drafts piling up, recording becomes a chore and posting stops, creating a vicious cycle. I will try to continue by simply recording my visits briefly. Visited for lunch at 12:30. The Nankyuhouji branch had plenty of empty seats even at this time, making it easy to enter anytime. The service lunch on this day was pork croquette cheese. It was nice to see the croquette being heated in a frying pan after being kept warm in a stockpot. The European-style curry with squid ink, which is characterized by its black color, is not very distinctive in terms of flavor. It is slightly spicy but should be easy for anyone to eat. Overall, the restaurant has a large number of seats and is convenient for lunchtime. It seems that the beef tendon curry is popular at Funebako Curry. Thank you for the meal!

I sometimes visit a curry specialty restaurant for lunch. The curry roux contains squid ink, making it black in color. This time, I ordered the beef curry and it came out quickly. Pickled radish and mixed pickles are unlimited. The spiciness is mild, and it has a rich and delicious flavor.

First visit to Funabacho Curry!! I had tonkatsu curry. It was really dark, and as a big fan of squid ink, I wonder why I didn't come here sooner, haha. I didn't adjust the spiciness and had it as it is. It wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be (;´・ω・`;) Next time, I'll definitely make it spicier! It had a smooth texture, not as rich as I expected, but a mild curry.

It goes without saying that beef tendon and green onion curry is a favorite of Kansai people. They also love simmered beef tendons, oden, doteyaki, okonomiyaki, and even curry. To Kansai people, white onions seem surprisingly luxurious. Kansai people mainly prefer green onions, so white onions are considered elegant and luxurious.

Lots of beef and plenty of sauce for only 650 yen, such a great deal! The taste was just what I like. Pickles and assorted pickles were also unlimited (lol). I will visit again. ( ⁎ᴗ_ᴗ⁎)ペコッ
