In the heart of Minami in Osaka, there is a shop located on the underground second floor of the famous Osaka Shochikuza, where you can enjoy various self-brewed beers (Dotombori Beer). Among the three self-brewed beers, the most easy to drink "Kolsch" was ordered on this day. The group of friends, who hadn't seen each other in a while, were already lively with nostalgic stories and catching up even before the cheers, but the self-brewed beer made the atmosphere even more lively. With a good balance of easy drinking and richness, the second round shifted to a familiar dry draft beer, paired with delicious fish dishes. The dishes we enjoyed included a "Yuba Salad" with a gentle dressing and crispy fried yuba, a "Sashimi Assortment" with large cuts of fish in a "Osaka-style" presentation, particularly excellent "Sea Bream", a "Chicken Tataki" with thick slices and plenty of ginger and green onion, a "Sea Bream Head Stew" with tender meat and flavorful soy sauce, an "Squid & Sweet Potato Tempura" with a homemade touch, and of course, "Potato Fries" that are hard to resist. We were provided with a private room on this day, and the spaciousness of the shop, with only two shops on the underground second floor, was very comfortable. The shop is like a hidden gem, perfect for leisurely enjoying food and drinks. The conversation was so engaging that we ended up staying longer than expected. Despite being in a prime location in Dotombori, the prices are reasonable, making it a great place to visit in the Dotombori area. It is a convenient location for a second stop or on the way home, making it a place we would love to visit again.

I went with a customer to a place near Namba where we were able to secure a calm and comfortable seat. I made a reservation for the seat only on Tabelog. The location was in the basement of Matsuzaka, so we took the escalator down to B1, then circled around and took another escalator down to B2. The restaurant was clean and the private rooms were a nice place to have a relaxed conversation. We ordered a tasting set of craft beers, which were quite enjoyable. The Alt beer from Dusseldorf, Germany was refreshing and easy to drink. The Kolsch was like a regular beer but had a richer flavor. The Porter had a similar appearance to Guinness but had a nutty taste. We also ordered sashimi and boiled hamo (pike conger), which were decent. However, the yakitori was burnt and lacked the freshly grilled taste, resembling supermarket deli food which was disappointing. We ended the meal with sushi.

I made a same-day reservation for all-you-can-drink beer and ended up trying the Kolsch, Alt, and Porter from Dotonbori Beer. Out of the 90-minute all-you-can-drink offer, I only received beer for 60 minutes, leaving me with just food at the table. The beer and food were delicious, but it was disappointing. If you plan on going, be prepared for this.

Visited with a friend for lunch. The restaurant was relatively empty and easy to relax in. My friend ordered the sushi set meal, while I ordered the kushikatsu set meal. I chose the seafood kushikatsu, and each skewer was delicious. However, if I had to be picky, I would say that having pickled ginger like in Osaka would make it even better.

Located right near Dotonbori, the restaurant seemed busy and the staff was cold towards me, even though I had made a reservation. However, once they realized I was Japanese, the service improved and I found the food to be average.

I was a bit disappointed that despite the name "Kushi Katsu," there weren't many varieties of kushi katsu. However, all the kushi katsu options were delicious, especially the sweet potato kushi katsu and the dessert kushi katsu. The seating was spacious, and I felt that families with children could also enjoy the kushi katsu experience.

This is a kushikatsu restaurant located in the Minami district of Osaka, near the Shochikuza Theater in Dotonbori. We mainly ordered kushikatsu sets with both meat and fish skewers. There was an abalone kushikatsu, but it didn't have much of an abalone flavor. The shrimp kushikatsu was delicious. The yuba-wrapped dashimaki tamago had a thickened sauce on top, giving it a satisfying texture.

The ventilation in the restaurant is poor, and there is a smell of toilet near my seat. Next to me is the smoking area, so when someone smokes, there is a strong smell of smoke. It took almost 40 minutes for the food to finally arrive after ordering. The quality of the food is just average. It's not terrible, but it's not delicious either.

The tempura was delicious! The interior of the store was clean and very beautiful. Compared to other tempura shops, the prices are on the higher side. We ordered a mix of meat skewers and a few individual skewers of our choice. The service from the young staff was so-so. They lacked smiles and seemed indifferent, providing poor customer service. It was disappointing considering the nice atmosphere and delicious tempura. The prices on the menu are per skewer.

I went down two escalators to the basement floor of Matsuzaka-za and found a very upscale and pleasant atmosphere. The private room I was initially seated in was quite dark, so I asked to be moved to a brighter table seat, and the staff quickly accommodated my request. While the drinks arrived promptly, I was a bit worried about the food taking a while to come out even though there were empty seats, but it was worth the wait as the dishes were delicious and well-balanced. The quality of the deep-fried skewers was particularly high, especially the fried sweet potato. The cost performance was decent, although it may be considered a bit pricey for Osaka. I thought it was worth paying for the private room. They also accept last-minute reservations, so I would definitely want to visit again when I go to Osaka.

It's located on the second basement floor of the Matsuzakaza in Dotonbori. The spacious interior made me feel like I might get lost haha. We were guided to a private room with table seating. We ordered a few dishes, focusing on sashimi. The sashimi was thickly sliced and delicious. So tasty!! It's been a while since I had blowfish sashimi. Oh well, can't help it. Time to drink some alcohol haha. The meat dishes were also delicious, not just the fish. The location is easy to get to, the food is delicious, the interior is spacious, and they have private rooms and courses, so it's very convenient. Thank you for the meal. I went for a solo lunch during a break from work. The staff was polite. The steamed vegetables were delicious, and there were various side dishes that were all tasty, so I felt very satisfied. I went around 12:30 on a weekday and it was not crowded, so I could relax and enjoy my meal.

During a trip to Kansai, I wandered around Dotonbori on the weekend but couldn't find the restaurant I was looking for. Finally, I found my way downstairs and stumbled upon Tachibana, a place that serves Dotonbori local beer. It seems like they recently renovated, and the food might have changed as well. They have been making styles of beer like Kolsch and Alt since the early days of Dotonbori, with a history of over 20 years. Even though they don't distribute to the Kanto region (I've never seen it), it's a beer that you should try when traveling. It's a good beer with a nice balance of drinkability and a pleasant lingering taste in the throat. We also ordered the tofu and dashi tamagoyaki, which were delicious. The tofu was similar to the complimentary dish, but the dashi to dip it in was tasty! The same goes for the dashi tamagoyaki, as Osaka truly has a culture of dashi. I recommend pairing the beer with a light meal rather than just drinking it alone. (There might not be many people who just drink beer without food)

Renzaemon wanted to see the night performance of the play, not the main attraction of Yoshitsune Senbonzakura. It was the 40th anniversary performance of the group "Kabuki Lovers in Kansai" and it was a great stage with talented actors from both east and west. I arrived in Kyoto late and didn't have time to eat lunch, but when I arrived at Dotonbori, I was surprised to find a beer factory underground. I tried the Kolsch beer first, which was light and easy to drink, and then had some dumplings and a large shumai. After the break, I went back to the theater and enjoyed the beautiful performances. During the second break, I went back to the beer factory and tried the Porter beer, which was dark and had a unique aroma. I also had some skewers with pork, chicken, and onions. It was a great experience to have a beer underground in Dotonbori and it was a nice way to refresh myself during the breaks from the play. The restaurant had a beer hall-like atmosphere and it was a pleasant surprise to find such a place in that area.

I met up with my son at Shin-Osaka Station, and Osaka seemed different than usual due to the G20 summit. We decided to head to Dotonbori, thinking it might be less crowded than usual, but it was as busy as ever. Before dinner, we thought about having a beer somewhere, and we stumbled upon a sign for "Dotonbori Beer Brewery" in front of the Shochikuza Theater. We went downstairs to check it out. It seemed to be connected to a Japanese restaurant called "Tachibana," where we could enjoy the brewery's beer. We asked if we could just have beer, and they kindly said yes. We ordered the Osaka Alt in a mug for 594 yen, the Osaka Porter in a mug for 594 yen, and the pickled water eggplant for 853 yen. It was a cozy atmosphere, and we could relax in the quiet setting. Along with the beer, we were served a small appetizer of yuba (which turned out to be 378 yen at the end, a bit pricey). The Alt my son ordered had a refreshing flavor, while the Porter I had was dry with a roasted malt taste. The pickled water eggplant, a summer specialty in Kansai, was juicy and delicious. The concept of "beer that goes well with Japanese cuisine" was well-executed, and we found the beer easy to drink. Thank you for the meal!

I tried the Osaka Kolsch and Osaka Alt Caramel at the Dotonbori Craft Beer Brewery in Namba CITY. The Kolsch had a refreshing aroma with a hoppy taste, while the Alt Caramel had a bitter hop flavor. I ordered the seafood bowl set for 1690 yen during lunchtime, with less rice requested. The Dotonbori craft beers are relatively easy to drink for craft beer enthusiasts. The seafood bowl turned out to be more like a seafood chirashi with vinegared rice instead of plain rice. It was served with udon noodles, which had a nostalgic Osaka-style taste. The place was popular among tourists with carry-on bags. Enjoy your meal!

Overall, I think the staff and the taste are good, but the kushikatsu was just lined up on a plate so it was greasy and disappointing!

I think the exterior of the shop and the atmosphere of the seats are nice. However, I feel that the amount of food in the course meal is too small. They have craft beer and the quality is good, but the attitude of the young female staff is poor. If you don't like working there, just quit. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

I was looking for a place to have drinks with my colleagues and randomly came to this shop. The drinks are not cheap, but you can enjoy craft beers that are not commonly found. They are fruity and easy to drink compared to regular beers, making them popular among those who don't like beer or women. We had dashimaki tamago, beef tendon skewers, assorted sushi, seared mackerel, and assorted yakitori. These are classic dishes with good portion sizes and flavors. The tamago had a considerable volume! This is a recommended place for those who want to try a variety of dishes! Thank you for the meal.
