I found this delicious tonkatsu restaurant near my workplace! Just when I was thinking about exploring tonkatsu restaurants recently, I went there! I ordered the loin cutlet set meal! The crispy texture of the breading was nice! And the meat was easy to eat and tasted great. The pickles went well with the rice, it was a good set meal~

I wanted to visit the restaurant where his parents went on dates when they were young. I always choose tenderloin cutlet when eating tonkatsu, so I went with the tenderloin cutlet. I couldn't decide on the set menu, but ended up choosing the pork steak. The tenderloin cutlet was delicious as always. The pork steak was surprisingly tender and tasty. You can get free refills of cabbage, red miso soup, and rice. The red miso soup was a bit strong, but had a deep and flavorful taste.

I had planned to go to a nearby Western-style restaurant, but it was crowded with a long line, so I decided to visit this place instead. Although this restaurant was almost full, I managed to get the last available seat without having to wait in line. I ordered the Tonkatsu and Hamburger Steak set for 1600 yen. I was very hungry, so I quickly dug into the Tonkatsu as soon as it was served. It was delicious. Oh no, I forgot to take a picture! I am an amateur gourmet enthusiast, so please forgive me. The Hamburger Steak was also juicy and the set came with rice, miso soup, and unlimited cabbage refills, making it a great deal. Considering the portion size, I thought it was quite reasonable. It was delicious, thank you for the meal.

To Meihachi-san, it's been a while since I last visited. This time, I decided to order the Tonkatsu set. The Tonkatsu and Hirekatsu set was delicious and very filling for 1600 yen. The bite-sized katsu was tender and tasty. Thank you for the meal.

It's still early for dinner at 4:30 PM, and I decided to eat here in the underground mall in Umeda. There aren't many chances to eat here, so I stopped in front of a tonkatsu restaurant. They had an option for a thick-cut pork cutlet set meal, and I couldn't resist. I ordered the 180g thick-cut pork cutlet set meal, which came with rice, miso soup, and unlimited cabbage. The pork cutlet was crispy and the flavor of the pork fat was rich. I enjoyed every bite and even went for seconds of cabbage and rice. Overall, it was delicious. Check out my daily blog at https://oishiishashin.com/ and my tonkatsu specialty site at https://ton-katsu.com/.

I was tricked by a friend who said "Osaka people love tonkatsu" and ended up at a nearby tonkatsu restaurant. I feel like I've seen the name Umehachi in other prefectures as well, but is it a famous place? You can find this restaurant on the 2nd floor underground at Hankyu Sanbangai. There were quite a few customers even though it was a weekday. The interior has counter seats and table seats. This time, I sat at the counter. I ordered the Hirekatsu Combo for 1,400 yen, which came with shrimp fry and hirekatsu. Both were a modest size. The rice was cooked to my liking, a bit firm. It was much tastier than tonkatsu from chain restaurants, but with prices rising, the feeling of it being a cheap meal in Osaka was fading.

I went to the restaurant around 1:30 PM, but it was full! I ordered the Hirekatsu set meal for 1250 yen (tax included). The Hirekatsu was delicious, freshly fried and piping hot! You can get free refills of rice, miso soup, and cabbage. I would like to visit this restaurant again.

I went to Umehachi in Hankyu Sanbangai. The eggs had a very nice color and looked delicious, and the portion was generous. It was quite tasty. The large serving is also free, so you can eat to your heart's content. The red miso soup that comes with the katsudon was rich and delicious, which was really good. I want to go again. However, I felt that the price was a bit high.

The "Hirekatsu Teki Set" (150g Tonkatsu and 3 pieces of 20g bite-sized Hirekatsu) for 1500 yen is a great deal compared to the 1100 yen Tonkatsu set alone. You can enjoy unlimited rice, miso soup, and cabbage. The seasoning of the Tonkatsu is lighter compared to a nearby famous restaurant, but it still has a rich flavor from the quality pork and a strong garlic taste. The bite-sized Hirekatsu is thick and delicious, definitely not something you can eat in just one bite.

Hankyu Umeda's Sanbangai, located on the B2 floor. It has the image of a long-standing shop, but compared to other shops in Sanbangai, it is relatively easy to get in quickly. I visited around 3 pm on a Saturday in December. Despite the crowded Umeda area at that time, I was able to get in quickly. I was seated at the counter. There are places to hang your belongings, and if you have a lot, you can also place them in a separate area from your seat.
- Katsudon ¥1100
Although tempted by the fillet cutlet, I chose the katsudon because the egg looked delicious. It is a tonkatsu restaurant, so it comes with red miso soup, rice, and free refills of cabbage. The katsudon comes with red miso soup. You can get a free large serving of rice. The egg and dashi are not cooked together with the cutlet, but added on top, so the cutlet remained crispy. The egg yolk seemed fresh, requiring a bit of force to break. The dashi was slightly salty. They accept PayPay. Thank you for the meal! (*´ω`*)

I ordered the Hamburger Steak and Pork Stir-fry, along with Crab Cream Croquette. The meat is really tender with little fat, making it very easy to eat. The batter is crispy, although at a normal level. The rice is also delicious. Overall, it's really good and not inferior to major chain restaurants. I will definitely come back.

Visited with 3 children during the peak lunch time on a weekend. The place was almost full but we managed to grab seats at the counter and were seated right away. We couldn't decide between the Hire Katsu and Ton Teki, but finally settled on ordering:
- Hire Katsu Teishoku x3
Our order arrived promptly. At first, I was worried if the kids would be able to finish all the food, but it turned out to be unnecessary concern. All three of us finished our meals with satisfaction. The Hire Katsu had a crispy coating and tender meat, while the Ton Teki had a delicious sauce. Both the kids and I left the restaurant feeling full and content. Thank you for the meal.

It's not too crowded and easy to get a seat. I prefer sitting at the counter when I'm alone, it's more relaxing. I always order the one-bite Hamburger Steak set meal, it's affordable and delicious! It's one of my favorite places to eat in Umeda where I can enjoy a peaceful meal. I like to stop by after work for a quick bite before heading home.

I stopped by this restaurant for lunch on my way to my next destination. I arrived a little before 12 o'clock and although I was dining alone, the counter was full (it seems they are spacing out customers for infection prevention). I was seated at a table for two. I ordered the thick-cut pork cutlet set meal. The rice, miso soup, and cabbage are refillable. The menu indicated that it would take about 15 minutes for the meal to be served, but it actually arrived in less than 10 minutes, perhaps because it wasn't crowded yet. The seasoning included sauce and mustard. The sauce had a sweet and sour taste, while the mustard was mild. The pork cutlet was indeed thick-cut as described on the menu, with little fat and a slightly finer breading. The cabbage dressing was Japanese-style, and the rice was cooked to a nice firmness. The miso soup had burdock, which is not commonly seen. It was a traditional tonkatsu restaurant where you can enjoy a meal in a calm atmosphere.

I am now in the Nakazaki West area for 5 months and the end of the Hankyu Sanbangai underground area is in sight♡ This time, I tried a tonkatsu genre restaurant that I had been eyeing! They offer set meals with tonkatsu and pork steak, or shrimp fry and ginger pork, all of which are very filling and get you excited. I felt like eating a hearty meal, so I decided to try their specialty "Katsudon with special eggs (extra rice)". It arrived in 7-8 minutes after ordering. The miso soup was piping hot, which was nice, but it only had a few burdock roots as ingredients, so it felt a bit lacking. The main katsudon had a shining orange yolk in the center, with a crispy tonkatsu topped with a runny egg and chopped seaweed. The tonkatsu had a soft texture rather than being crispy due to the sauce and egg coating. The meat was tender, and the sweet broth, fluffy egg, and rich natural egg with vitamin E made the dish very flavorful and juicy. It was so delicious! This is the classic katsudon, I think♡ The red and white pickled vegetables with a soft vinegar taste helped refresh my palate. I look forward to trying the Combo Hamburger Steak Set next time!

While buying work tools in Umeda, I had a late lunch at "Umehachi" in Hankyu Sanbangai store. The restaurant is located on the 2nd basement floor of the south building of Hankyu Sanbangai, along the west end corridor. I ordered "One-bite pork cutlet and shrimp fry". I received white rice equivalent to 2 servings. I ended up feeling tired from walking afterwards, so I should have added cabbage as well.
Food Taste: 3.3
The "One-bite pork cutlet and shrimp fry" comes with shredded cabbage, red miso soup, pickles, and white rice. The one-bite pork cutlet comes in a serving of 3 pieces, each weighing 20 grams according to the menu. The actual size is slightly larger due to the breading. The meat thickness is about 1.5 cm. It is not tough, but requires some chewing. The sauce is a fruity and typical one. The shrimp fry is quite large. It seems to be fried more firmly than the one-bite cutlet, with a crispy texture to the breading. The tartar sauce is on the creamy side, almost entirely mayonnaise. The shredded cabbage was easy to eat as it was finely chopped. The "domestic vegetable fragrant Japanese-style dressing" was refreshing and tasty. The excess liquid accumulates at the bottom of the plate, but the wire rack effectively guards against the fried food. The white rice, an important element of a set meal, was cooked slightly firm, which I personally liked.
Service: 3.5
The staff provided a pleasantly cheerful service. White rice, red miso soup, and cabbage are refillable. I personally appreciate that they operate continuously (which was the deciding factor for my visit this time).
Atmosphere: 3.2
The interior is like a clean and small teishoku (set meal) restaurant. It was more spacious than I expected. The background music is Japanese music, likely recent songs. There were about 2 customers before me and 3 after me.
Cost Performance: 3.1
The "One-bite pork cutlet and shrimp fry" costs 950 yen. White rice, red miso soup, and cabbage are refillable. There are strong optional items. However, whether you can take advantage of them depends on your stomach. The pricing may be a bit on the higher side, but it's within an acceptable range.
Drink: Data not available.
This is a convenient place to visit when you feel like having fried food.

It's a tonkatsu restaurant, but they also have dishes like "tonteki" and "ginger pork", and various rice bowl options which are popular. You can have unlimited refills of cabbage and rice. At "Tonkatsu Hyakumeiten" it's recommended to order either fillet or loin, but at chain restaurants it's usually breaded oysters. The oysters and shrimp at chain restaurants are quite delicious!

Visited around 5:00 PM. This is a restaurant where you can get free refills of rice and miso soup. I was seated at the counter and placed my order right away. The set meal arrived shortly after. I had the Hirekatsu set meal for 900 yen, and I forgot the price of the other dish. The crispy coating and tender Hirekatsu went well together. Rice, miso soup, and I believe cabbage were all free refills, making it a great deal. It was a bit of an odd time, but the restaurant quickly filled up and a line formed outside. I don't often fry food at home, so I really enjoyed the meal. Thank you for the delicious food.

My daughter and I had dinner in Osaka, at a restaurant she chose in Hankyu Sanbangai. She ordered a pork cutlet bowl, while I had a set meal with a bite-sized pork cutlet and shrimp fry. The pork cutlet was tender and the shrimp fry was large, both were delicious. Thank you for the meal.
