When I went to Kyobashi, I wanted to visit the quaint confectionery shop "Amatsuhi" that I had been longing for. The shop, which means "sunny day," is filled with handmade sweetness and nostalgic cakes. Located near the Kyobashi Chuo shopping street, the cute shop is tucked away in front of a park, with a discreet sign that says "Kashiya Amatsuhi" tucked in a corner of potted plants. The shop has a hidden feel that you might pass by without noticing. With a glass facade, you can see the cake showcase and know that it is open. The shop is open from 2 pm on weekdays and from 1 pm on weekends. They announce their days off in advance on their Instagram. The shop closes at 7 pm but may close earlier if they sell out. The cozy interior of the shop could comfortably fit 2-3 people, with a warm and inviting atmosphere decorated with natural dried flowers. The showcase displays cakes with simple designs, such as large fluffy Swiss rolls, gateau chocolate, mocha cake, elegant opera cake, butter cake, cream puffs filled after ordering, creme brulee, financiers, madeleines, almond cookies, and other baked goods. On this day, there were 12 different types of cakes in the showcase, which vary depending on the day, so the chocolate cake and shortcake I was aiming for were not available. I purchased my favorite pistachio butter cake, opera cake, and cream puff this time. The cream puff was small and cute, with a crispy cookie crust and a rich cream filling. The butter cake had layers of pistachio-flavored buttercream and a hint of raspberry-flavored buttercream in the center. The opera cake had layers of bitter chocolate cream, coffee cream, and coffee syrup-soaked sponge cake. All the cakes were made with high-quality ingredients and handmade with care, offering a simple and heartwarming taste. The owner of the shop had a gentle and soothing demeanor, making the experience even more pleasant. The shop probably has limited quantities, as I saw a fruit tart sell out quickly in front of my eyes. I would definitely go back for the cream puffs and look forward to trying their other cakes like the tiramisu, fruit tart, and creme brulee. The shop's serene atmosphere and delicious treats make it a charming place that I would love to visit again.

Located quietly a little inside a park from the Kyoto Bridge Central Shopping Street that extends from Osaka's Kyobashi Station towards the Tsushima and Noe area. This small Western confectionery shop leaves a lasting impression with the gentle and warm personality of the owner-patissier, as well as the French-trained techniques and unique sense. This was my third visit since the opening in August last year. The shop is located in an area where people occasionally pass by, with cakes and tarts displayed in the showcase and baked goods such as financiers on the table. While the visual style may differ from modern trends, the techniques honed in France and various locations in Japan are combined with a regional confectionery-like twist. There were about 12 types in the showcase, with 6 remaining during this visit. The items I took out this time were Tiramisu (420 yen), Choux Cream (190 yen), Vanilla Eclair (240 yen), and Lemon Pound Cake (190 yen). The standout was the Choux Cream, with a blend of whipped cream and custard that was surprisingly rich and smooth. The flavorful cream combined with the choux pastry to create a remarkable charm. Next was the eclair made with the same mixed cream as the choux cream. The Tiramisu and Lemon Pound Cake were also delightful. Once again, there were new discoveries and complete satisfaction with the confections based on solid skills. The female owner studied at a French school under Tsuji and honed her skills at patisseries in France and hotels in Osaka and Shizuoka. She is a true professional with a calm and humble demeanor. Despite the small selection, this small patisserie opened in August 2019 exudes a rustic and natural charm with great skill. There is a park in front of the shop, about a 6-minute walk from Kyobashi Station. I hope it becomes known not only to locals but also to people from afar.

I tried various things, but the cream puff was the best. Overall, the cakes were soft and easily squished. Well, there were also issues with transportation. I put them in a cooler for fishing, but besides the ice pack they provided at the store, additional ice packs were necessary. I usually bring a ice pack that can keep ice cream frozen for 7 hours, but I forgot it on this day. However, the soft cream had a fresh and delicious taste, very tasty. Well, for those who have a long commute, it might be better to go with a tart. Well, delicious equals short shelf life. In fact, it's recommended to bring a plate, fork, and tea and eat in the park in front of the store.笑

I went to a hidden gem pastry shop called "Amatsuhi" in Kyobashi. I wasn't feeling motivated to visit any cake shops in Osaka, but when I saw the cakes here, my excitement went up and I decided to come. The shop is not very visible, you might pass by without noticing it. They open at 1:00 PM. Inside the shop, there is a small display case with about 10 types of cakes. I bought two to take home. One was the "Apricot Tart". Apricots don't taste very good when eaten raw, but when processed, they become a delicious fruit. The apricot in this cake was sweet and sour, very tasty. The contrast between the crispy and moist tart crust was also enjoyable. The other cake I tried was the main attraction of the day, the "Chocolate Cake". It was sweet but also had a bitter taste, making it a wonderful balance. The rich and creamy texture, crispy crust, everything about it was lovely. This is the chocolate cake I was looking for. "Amatsuhi" means a sunny day, but to me, it felt like a gentle and sunny day (like the warmth of spring). In this era where low-carb and less sweet desserts are praised, this shop shines like the sun! Oh, but I remember I didn't buy the coffee cake I initially wanted because it said it was less sweet. They also cater to those who prefer less sweet options.

Located quietly a little inside the park from the Kyoto Bridge Central Shopping Street that extends from Kyobashi Station in Osaka to the Miyakojima and Noe areas. This is a small patisserie where you can feel the calm personality of a young pastry chef with French training and skills. Occasionally, people passing by can find the shop, and inside the showcase, there are cakes and tarts, and on the shelf, there are baked sweets like financiers, mainly focusing on traditional and rustic impression sweets. Among the 12 types in the showcase, 6 were left, and this time I took out the Milk Crepe (500 yen), Apricot Tart (340 yen), and Nut Meringue Cookie Croquant (120 yen). Especially the "Apricot Tart" is an exquisite taste that shakes your taste buds with just one bite. The Milk Crepe and Croquant were within expectations, but once again, the high level of skills was evident, leaving a fulfilling feeling. The rustic deliciousness contrasting with modern tastes remains impressive. The female owner studied at the Tsuji Culinary Institute in France and honed her skills at shops in France. She has accumulated experience at hotels in Osaka, Shizuoka, and other places in Japan, making her a true professional. There is a large park in front of the shop, about a 7-minute walk from Kyobashi Station. Despite having a small selection, the natural atmosphere is well taken care of by the female owner's skills and dedication. I will keep the score hidden this time, but I recommend everyone to visit this charming patisserie, not only for locals in Kyobashi but also for those coming from afar.

A pastry shop located in a narrow alley off the shopping street in Kyobashi. The shop is run by a kind and warm female owner. The pastries she makes have a gentle taste. It's best to visit in the morning as there are not many pastries available. I felt warm and cozy after eating them.

When you head towards Nobeoka from the shopping street in Kyobashi, you will find a simple and cute cake shop in front of the park called "Kashiten Amatsubi." The shop quietly opened on August 26, 2019, and the sign is not very noticeable unless you pass by the front of the shop. The lovely and heartwarming lady runs the shop alone, and talking to her will make you feel warm and fuzzy. "Amatsubi" means something like "a special day," which suits the lady perfectly. The small showcase displays a variety of cute cakes made with great care by the lady herself. Although the selection is not extensive due to being made by one person, the cakes are beautifully made and reflect the lady's personality. I tried three cakes for takeout only: - Shortcake for 490 yen: A simple cake with four types of berries - Kyoho grapes, Delaware grapes, raspberries, and strawberries. The fluffy sponge and very smooth cream were delightful, with a generous amount of cream making it a cream-focused shortcake. It was quite sweet in taste. - Chocolate cake for 490 yen: Despite its small size, this cake packs a punch. The beautifully coated cake has a strong cocoa flavor, a crunchy hazelnut paste, and a smooth mousse that creates an interesting texture combination. - Cheesecake for 390 yen: A refreshing cheesecake with a lemon on top. Served in a cup, it has a texture similar to pudding or mousse, with a good balance between the cream and cheese. Overall, the cakes are on the sweeter side, so if you like sweet treats, you will enjoy them. Each cake is made with care and love, and all of them are recommended. The lady kindly accommodated my request to hold the cakes while I went shopping, so I am grateful for that. Since the lady is still young, I look forward to seeing how the shop will grow in the future. If you plan to visit, it's best to go early as the showcase may be empty in the evening.

Located quietly a little off the main street of the Kyobashi Central Shopping Street that extends from Kyobashi Station in Osaka to the Miyakojima and Noe areas, this small patisserie exudes the gentle personality and solid skills and sense of a young pastry chef. The shop features cakes, tarts, eclairs, and other French pastries in the showcase, as well as financiers and other baked goods on the shelves. The friendly female shop owner assisted me as I chose three cakes and two baked goods to take out. I got a pistachio mousse (530 yen), a rare cheesecake (380 yen), a pineapple tart (490 yen), financiers (160 yen), and madeleines (2 for 190 yen). When I tasted them at home, I could feel the high level of craftsmanship and authentic flavors with a nostalgic touch. The pistachio mousse, in particular, stood out with its rich and delicious taste. The shop was adorned with many blessings, including some from the Tsuji Culinary Institute in France. I learned that the young female pastry chef had studied at the Tsuji Culinary Institute in France and worked at shops in France before gaining experience at hotels and shops in Japan, eventually leading to the opening of her own shop without much fanfare. The lineup includes chocolate cakes and butter cakes, and although the selection is small, the passion of the young female pastry chef shines through in this compact shop. The shop operates with only one staff member, so there may be some waiting time, and they only offer takeout. There is a large park in front of the shop, and it is about a 7-minute walk from Kyobashi Station. I recommend this patisserie not only to locals in Kyobashi but also to those who come from afar.

It's a small shop, but I love everything about it - the taste and appearance of the cakes, the atmosphere of the shop, and the owner's polite customer service. They even made a gender reveal cake for me upon request. I am grateful. ♡
