Today's lunch on September 10th was at the 'Kinzan Village Nakano-cho Store', where I previously enjoyed the "Authentic Sichuan Mapo Tofu" and the "Beautiful Noodle Chicken White Soup Salt Flavor". I discovered that they are open not only at 18:00 but also on Saturdays from 12:00. What a lucky find! It turns out that on the 10th of every month, you can get a plate of 10 yen gyoza (4 pieces) - what perfect timing!
Since there is no parking lot, I parked my car at a nearby coin parking lot before heading to the restaurant. Even though it was slightly past 12:00 when I arrived, there was a decent crowd. I purchased meal tickets from the vending machine for 10 yen gyoza (10 yen) x 3, chicken tempura (580 yen), beautiful noodle chicken white soup salt flavor (780 yen), refreshing salted noodles (660 yen), hot and sour soup noodles (780 yen), bean sprouts with sauce noodles (650 yen), authentic Sichuan Mapo Tofu (990 yen), a medium bottle of beer (590 yen), and 2 Coca-Colas (250 yen each). Payment was cash only, so I handed the meal tickets to the staff and took my seat.
I started with a bottle of beer, specifically Kirin Ichiban Shibori. The kids had a toast with Coca-Cola in the background. Soon after, the 10 yen gyoza plates arrived - 3 in total. Normally, a plate of gyoza with 6 pieces costs 390 yen, so getting 4 pieces for 10 yen is an amazing deal! The gyoza was juicy and delicious, but be careful of the hot meat juice when taking a bite.
Next up was the chicken tempura, which the younger child wanted to try. It was also juicy and delicious, a perfect snack with the beer. This made me order another bottle of Kirin Ichiban Shibori beer.
I then enjoyed the "Beautiful Noodle Chicken White Soup Salt Flavor", which I had also tried and loved before. The thin straight noodles with chicken chashu, flavored egg, wood ear mushrooms, white leeks, shredded red pepper, and green onions were delightful. The soup had a surprisingly light taste but was very delicious.
The older child had the refreshing salted noodles this time, which were also delicious. The noodles were the same medium-thick curly noodles as the soy sauce version. The chashu and flavored egg were smoked, showing the chef's attention to detail.
I forgot to take a photo of the hot and sour soup noodles, but they were tangy and spicy, very tasty. The bean sprouts with sauce noodles were as delicious as always.
Lastly, I couldn't resist ordering the authentic Sichuan Mapo Tofu with a side of rice. The strong aroma and spiciness of the Sichuan peppercorns were irresistible. It's a must-try for those who enjoy a numbing fragrance and heat.
Overall, it was a satisfying and delicious meal. Thank you for the feast!
