This was the XXth "Chotto Bar Boo" meetup (^ω^) After eating curry ramen at "Spice Rice Noodle Brothers House" and feeling like we still wanted to drink more, we stopped by this place that caught our eye! The restaurant had a small bar-like atmosphere, with a counter in the front and some small table seats in the back. We didn't hesitate to use the table seats... First, we each ordered our favorite drinks and made a toast!! I had my usual highball. Since I prefer less carbonation, I asked for extra carbonation from the second drink onwards (;'∀') For snacks, we ordered red bean tempura, a cheese platter (half size), and harami steak. The cheese platter wasn't on the menu, but they allowed us to order a half size, which was great! The harami steak was priced at 7 yen per gram. We ordered 150g and they weighed it in front of us before cooking, which was a nice service for tipsy people like us... We had eaten and drank enough, and chatted a lot, but with only 4 of us, we didn't order much. However, all the dishes were decently tasty and reasonably priced, so it wasn't bad at all~ This place is good for a casual drink or for various occasions like small gatherings. We drank quickly for less than an hour. Since we have work tomorrow, let's call it a night here~ There are many different types of restaurants in Nakatsu, it was fun!! I would like to visit various other places next time~ Good job everyone!

Spanish & Italian bar. I was curious about it, so I popped in to take shelter from the rain. I had already had quite a few drinks and food, so I didn't bother taking pictures! I didn't take a photo of the menu, so I'm not sure of the exact names of the items ε-(´∀`; ) Anyway, cheers with a highball in hand! The dishes were probably fried Shima-cho (bird) and a cheese platter. The fat from the Shima-cho really hit my stomach hard the next morning, I had heartburn for the first time in a while (lol) We were so engrossed in conversation here that we only had these dishes, but they are open late, there was someone sitting alone at the counter, and the atmosphere is casual and inviting, so I would definitely stop by again if I have the chance (*´꒳`*)

After finishing the curry ramen earlier, I left the restaurant with Pi-chan and the young people, and headed to the next place. However, we were a bit lost on where to go. So we took a break and ended up here. I was already full and a bit tipsy. Cheers! Everyone was still drinking, but I needed a break. So I had some oolong tea. It was all so much fun. I chatted with Ryuto, FuruFuru, and Yakult, but Yakult was too drunk and his actions were hilarious. Hearing their stories, especially Yakult's scary experiences, made me realize how tough it can be. I couldn't imagine getting a late-night call like that. Pi-chan had to leave, so we said our goodbyes. I continued with the remaining group. As I started to sober up, I ordered some Japanese sake, "Hakuryu." It was refreshing and delicious. Sake is so good! And then, I got drunk again! It was such a fun night!

Half steak and half hamburger with miso soup for ¥880. The portion size was decent. The meat was tasty but a bit tough to chew, so I had to swallow it instead.

On the east side of Nakatsu subway station. On the way walking towards Shinmidosuji from the south exit of Nakatsu subway station, I came across this shop. I had passed by the front of this shop several times before, and I think they used to serve pizza for lunch or something, but I didn't feel much appeal, so I never visited. This time, when I happened to pass by the front of the shop, I noticed that the lunch menu had completely changed, with dishes like fried oysters, shrimp chili, and steak, all of which I love! It looked so delicious! So I immediately decided to go in. Inside the shop, there were about 7-8 counter seats. There seemed to be tables in the back, or maybe not... I wasn't sure, but the counter seats were almost full, indicating its popularity. I sat at an available counter seat, and a young staff member promptly and pleasantly took my order, leaving a good impression. I ordered the steak lunch. The shop was quite busy, but my steak lunch arrived in 7-8 minutes. The steak was larger than I had imagined, and the taste was quite good. The cooking was just right, and the sauce on the steak was to my liking. For 880 yen (tax included), it seemed like a good deal. Additionally, the white rice was refillable, and it was really delicious, possibly made with new rice. I really enjoyed it. If I have the chance to come back to this area soon, I definitely want to visit again. Next time, I might try the half and half menu.

Visited on April 1, 2016 (Friday) as it was raining. The location is near Nakatsu Subway Station. Head east from the "Nakatsu Subway Station South" intersection, cross the first traffic light and it's right there. Surrounded by various eateries. Arrived at 12:20 pm. Managed to squeeze into the entrance and was seated at the counter right away. However, it was extremely cramped. Ordered the "Steak Lunch: 880 yen", a limited menu from March 28 to April 1. Immediately served with potage soup, which I don't like, so gave it to my companion. The main steak dish arrived 7-8 minutes later, but the table was too small to place it properly, so it was served vertically. The distance between my elbow and the person at the next seat was just a few centimeters, almost touching. The steak was tender and delicious, with a flavorful garlic and spice seasoning. The rice portion was small, but refillable. Of course, I asked for a refill. Only saw the counter area as the rest of the restaurant was not visible, but it was definitely cramped, being a bar and all. The interior had a European-style with wooden accents. There were 2 male and 2 female staff members, providing friendly and good service. The staff member at the entrance even apologized for the tight space. This simple gesture made a big difference. Non-smoking during lunch hours from 11:30 to 13:00. Well, that's to be expected.

It's October! This month we are focusing on cost performance again! Today, I went to a restaurant recommended by my office colleague, W. It's located right across from our office, but I finally had the chance to go today! The restaurant is a small Italian bar with only a counter in the front, but there are also table seats in the back. Today's highlight is the limited edition Pizza Lunch for only 500 yen! Starting off with a mixed appetizer plate, which includes a salad with small fried fish on top, potato salad, egg omelette, and fried pumpkin with seasoning. It was a generous portion! The plate also comes with a potato and onion consomme soup, with free refills! The pizza arrived next, this week's special was mushroom and bacon pizza. It was a 18cm diameter pizza with plenty of cheese, very satisfying! The pizza is made to order, so it was piping hot! This restaurant also offers other lunch options such as appetizer lunch, weekly specials, and pasta lunch, but for the one coin lunch, it's the pizza lunch for the first three customers! There is a bar in Toyosaki, Kita-ku that is open until late at night. The long and narrow interior has a counter, making it suitable for solo drinkers, friends, and couples. The friendly owner, whose name seems to be inspired by the chef's physique, runs the place with his kind wife and good-looking or cute part-time staff. The menu is all reasonably priced. On this day, I had the oyster a la plancha and a glass of white wine. The oysters were large, plump, and delicious. It's great that they are open late.

The atmosphere is really great! The staff and the people working here are all nice, you can have a chat in a casual space, it's really wonderful! It's fun! And the meat dishes are delicious, I personally love the omurice here!! (o^^o)

A small restaurant located about a 3-4 minute walk from Nakatsu Station on the Midosuji Line. It's easy to miss as it only has a small entrance. From the outside, you can see the counter seats, the master cooking, and a female waitress managing the dining area. The atmosphere is bright and welcoming. One day, I decided to go in with a colleague from work. The counter seats about 8 people, but when we asked about a private room, we were shown to a cozy hidden space with 3 tables, perfect for groups of about 8. It's ideal for strategy meetings over a meal or small gatherings. The prices are reasonable, with various cuts of meat like harami, sirloin, and skirt steak priced at 6-10 yen per gram, available for orders of 100g or more. After ordering, the meat is cut and weighed before being cooked. It's a great way to enjoy steak in a casual setting. The appetizers are also delicious, with a variety of options like a 10-item appetizer platter and seafood ajillo. I particularly loved the firefly squid ink stew available until May, and now the squid ink stew is just as amazing. It's a delightful experience to enjoy it on bread or as a dip. Since my first visit, I've been coming back almost every week. Living nearby, I'm grateful for this gem and will continue to visit in the future!

I found a Spanish & Italian bar with only a counter on my way back from Nakanoshima Station to Nishi-Temma. They offer great deals like getting beer or wine with bruschetta for 500 yen, and a 90-minute all-you-can-drink deal for 1500 yen if you enter before 8 pm. The chef, who trained at an Italian restaurant in Temma Bridge, is a big foodie, and the taste and portion of the dishes are excellent! Although it's a small shop, I was surprised by the wide variety of drinks and food on the menu. In addition to pizza, they have a great selection of rice dishes, which is not common in bars. I enjoyed beer and red wine with an appetizer platter, a generous duck salad (I asked for bacon to be replaced), lamb chops, and finished with shrimp pilaf. The shop opened for the first time in April this year, and the wife and female staff provide friendly and charming service. They are open until 1 am on Fridays and Saturdays, and until 12 am on other days. I will definitely visit again!
