Lunch today at Nishiya, located on the 7th floor of Grand Front Osaka South Building, right near Osaka Station. This place is famous for its udon noodles, being an old-established udon shop. The interior has a slightly stylish Japanese atmosphere, with mainly table seating but also counter seating available for solo diners. As expected, the menu focuses on udon noodles, with options for set meals that include rice dishes along with udon. I ordered their specialty Niku-tsuke for 950 yen, where you can choose from spicy chili oil, sansho pepper, or yuzu pepper for the dipping sauce, and thin udon or kettle-cooked udon for the noodles. Shortly after ordering, the Niku-tsuke set arrived, consisting of the dipping sauce, noodles, and a separate dish with yuzu pepper, burdock root, and a raw egg. I dipped the udon noodles into the sauce, which had plenty of meat in it giving a satisfying portion. The noodles were smooth and delicious. I added the burdock root, raw egg, and finally the yuzu pepper to the dipping sauce. The refreshing spiciness of the yuzu pepper enhanced the flavor of the sauce even more. It was a satisfying udon lunch with tasty meat and noodles. Next time, I'd like to try the dipping sauce with chili oil or sansho pepper for a different taste. Thank you for the meal.

I went to "Nishiya" in Shinsaibashi the other day and had delicious udon, so on this day, I went to the Grand Front Osaka branch while going to see a movie in Umeda. We arrived at the restaurant around 13:30, but there was a wait of about 10 people outside due to it being Saturday lunchtime. The turnover seemed relatively fast, and we were seated inside after about 15 minutes. Last time, I had the sudachi udon, so this time I ordered the yuzu pepper flavored pork topping with zaru udon. It took about 5 minutes from ordering to serving. The yuzu pepper was served separately, and it was recommended to mix your desired amount into the broth. I added about half first. The hot broth brought out a nice yuzu aroma. When I tried the udon dipped in it, the savory pork flavor mixed with the yuzu and the spiciness of the pepper harmonized well and tasted delicious. The udon, like the main store, had a thin noodle but with a firm texture. Since the yuzu pepper wasn't too strong, I thought it would be better to add all of it, so I added the remaining half. Next, I added fried burdock. It took a bit of time for the burdock flavor to come out, but it added more umami. Lastly, I added an egg. The broth changed to a mellow flavor, enhancing the taste of the pork even more, so it is recommended to save the pork until this point. It was delicious udon that allowed you to enjoy various flavor changes in one dish. I usually prefer my noodles to be either hot or cold when I eat them, so I hardly ever eat tsukemen, which tends to change temperature quickly. However, the specialty tsukemen here maintains a satisfying heat until the end, making it enjoyable to eat. The staff was efficient and friendly, making it a great restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

On a hot day, I wanted to eat cold udon, but when I entered the restaurant, I gave in to temptation and ended up ordering the hot and spicy ankake udon. It was delicious! I am a fan of Udon House now!!! Next time I go on a business trip to Osaka, I will definitely eat there again.

I visited Nishiya-san after a long time and tried their famous meat tsukemen for 1,155 yen including tax. The dipping sauce was rich and flavorful. Adding a raw egg halfway through makes it milder. As I ate, I thought that if there was white rice, pouring it over and topping it with meat and sauce would make a delicious bowl. I will try this way of eating next time.

"I visited Shinsaibashi Nishiya at the Grand Front Osaka store. It was my first time there for lunch, and I learned that this place mainly serves udon dishes, with their specialty being the 'Niku Tsukemen'. However, I was drawn to a menu photo and decided to try the 'Niku Mori Maze Janmen with Oimeshi (1,200 yen)'. The photo showed the bowl half-covered with meat, but the actual dish had a bit less meat than expected. I mixed the egg yolk, fried sakura shrimp, onion, and sweet and spicy minced meat well, and enjoyed the deliciously spicy noodles. In the end, there was some tasty sauce left, so I added the oimeshi and mixed it all together for a satisfying finish. Despite the disappointing amount of meat, the taste was undeniably good. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.♩"

I had never actually been to "Nishiya" despite dining on this floor multiple times during my business trips to Osaka, thanks to a colleague who took me there. The menu offers a diverse range of options such as rice bowls, steamed dishes, and sudachi udon, all of which looked delicious. After much deliberation, I decided to try the "Signature Meat Dipping Udon with Spicy Chili Oil" (though the Yuzu Kosho flavor was tempting too). The first bite of the dipping sauce was amazing - rich yet delicate in flavor, with tender pieces of meat generously added. The udon noodles, smooth and slippery, soaked up the delicious broth which showcased the depth of umami you would expect from an udon restaurant. The dish had a solid core with no wavering in its essence. I enjoyed experimenting with the toppings like egg and fried burdock, savoring each bite until the bowl was empty in no time. The lingering taste of this exquisite dish left me wanting more, prompting me to purchase a pack of their broth at the register so I could recreate the experience at home (even used it to make takoyaki which was a hit!). I had an incredible lunch experience and will definitely be returning on my next trip to Osaka!

Osaka Station is directly connected, and there is a shop inside Grand Front where you can have Kobe beef for lunch. The cost performance is good, but the portion may be slightly unsatisfying. During peak times, there are occasional lines forming, so it is recommended to be prepared to wait or visit with a reservation.

I chose the Sukiyaki set meal with a calm atmosphere, priced at 1600 yen (doubled the meat for an additional 800 yen)! There was no information available about the portion size, so I decided to double the meat. However, it turned out to be quite a generous portion and I was very satisfied! The dish was almost ready when it arrived at the table, with just the meat left to cook. The taste and balance were both excellent. There are many restaurants on the floor, so I may not return for a while, but I had a great experience this time!

I had some errands to run in Umeda, so let's have lunch before heading back. I haven't eaten anything since morning, so I'm starving! Today, I decided to look for a restaurant at Grand Front Osaka South Building. After circling around for a bit, I settled on Nishiya, a restaurant known for udon chirashi, sukiyaki, and shabu-shabu. Even though it's lunchtime, you can enjoy sukiyaki in a single-person pot here! But I'm not in the mood for sukiyaki today, so I'll try their specialty dish instead. I ordered the "Specialty Meat Dip" for 1,078 yen, with a choice of chili oil or yuzu pepper, and either cold or hot udon. I chose chili oil and hot udon. If it were summer, I would have gone for cold udon, but I prefer the chewy texture of Osaka udon over the firm one. The udon here was delightfully chewy, and I enjoyed the spicy kick from the chili oil dipping sauce. With fried burdock and raw egg for flavor variation, adding the egg made the dish even more mellow than I expected. It ended up being a bit too mellow for my taste at the end. I guess I'll have to come back next time for the sukiyaki! Thank you for the meal, Nishiya Grand Front Osaka store.

The fine udon noodles. Tempura can be ordered individually. Using solid fuel, it took a long time to simmer the partially thawed meat. Pretty delicious! Special Sukiyaki Set with double the meat, Udon noodles, select Black Wagyu beef, raw egg rice, pickles, tempura, shimeji mushrooms, shrimp, crab claws.

Today, I had a business trip to Osaka and visited Grand Front Osaka. It's a pretty tall building with a great view. For lunch, I decided to eat on the 7th floor of the building for convenience. Osaka has many high-rise office buildings, so it's not very practical to go outside for lunch. I heard it's a bit pricey, but due to time constraints, I chose to eat on the 7th floor. In Fukuoka, I don't think udon would cost this much, but here I had a shiitake mushroom tempura udon for 1,078 yen, which was the cheapest option. To be honest, I couldn't really taste much. The noodles weren't as firm as Sanuki udon, but they had a handmade feel to them. You can get a free extra serving of noodles. (The photo shows the extra noodles)

For dinner alone in Umeda, I decided to treat myself to a luxurious meal at this restaurant by having shabu-shabu. I ordered it with a glass of draft beer, along with the beef shabu-shabu course and dashimaki tamago (rolled omelet). The course came with salad, sashimi, and tempura. The sashimi was average, while the tempura, especially the shrimp, was quite good. The shabu-shabu consisted of four slices of beef. I dipped them in the hot pot for about 5 seconds, then into ponzu sauce before savoring the sweet meat that pork can't match. This is the shabu-shabu that Japan proudly presents to the world. The meat wasn't anything extraordinary, but I was satisfied. I finished with udon noodles. Thank you for the feast.

I thought this was a hot pot restaurant, but the udon here is delicious. I had no idea. I ordered right before the last call for lunch on a weekday. It arrived in 7-8 minutes. The udon noodles were thin and had a great texture, I couldn't stop eating them. I finished my meal in less than 10 minutes and enjoyed a warm tea before leaving just 5 minutes before closing. It's slightly more expensive than chain udon restaurants, but considering the quality and atmosphere, it's actually quite affordable. Thank you for the meal.

I had the opportunity to have lunch in Umeda and met up at Grand Front. My friend brought me here saying that the udon here is delicious. The main store is in Shinsaibashi. We arrived right when they opened at 11 am so we were the first customers. I decided to try the famous meat dipping udon for 1,078 yen. You can choose from three flavors for the dipping sauce: spicy oil, yuzu pepper, and sansho pepper. I chose yuzu pepper this time. The udon was chewy and smooth, so delicious! The dipping sauce had three large pieces of meat. I started by eating it as it is, then added the fried burdock as a side, and finally cracked an egg into it. It was recommended to enjoy it this way. It was so satisfying and had a surprisingly good portion size. The fried burdock was crispy and delicious. I was very full by the end. By the time we left, it was lunchtime and more customers were coming in. It's perfect for a quick lunch at Grand Front. Thank you for the meal!

I went to Nishiya-san on the 7th floor of the south building of Grand Front! While there are many stylish restaurants in Grand Front such as Italian, this place offers Japanese cuisine! You can enjoy classic Japanese dishes like udon, soba, tempura, and sukiyaki. I wanted something light that day, so even though it was winter, I chose the refreshing plum and shiso udon! The udon here is slightly thin with a firm texture, and it was very delicious! If you ever crave Japanese food at Grand Front, be sure to visit here!

I often passed by Nishiya, a restaurant in Shinsaibashi, and wanted to try it out. However, this time I went to Umeda instead as the person I was with preferred it. We made a reservation here and tried the Shabu Shabu course with Ishigaki pork, along with all-you-can-drink for 4000 yen per person. The staff initially prepared the hot pot for us, which was enjoyable. The ginger for dipping was beautifully presented, so I took a photo of it. The Ishigaki pork was thinly sliced and easy to eat. While the price may be typical for a restaurant in Grand Front, there are cheaper options within walking distance in Umeda. Overall, the first-floor lighting was beautiful, and it's a great time to visit now.

It was a visit on Sunday around 11:00 AM, the shop is located on the 7th floor of the south building of Grand Front. The atmosphere inside the shop is a bit upscale and perfect for a leisurely meal. The specialty of this place seems to be the meat dipping noodles, but this time I ordered the Tori Tamaten Bukkake Udon. The male waiter who served us was polite and attentive, providing excellent customer service. The broth for the Bukkake was served in a small pitcher on the side, it was a subtle flavor that didn't stand out much. The noodles were thin but had a nice chewy texture, showing that they were carefully prepared. The Tori Tempura was made with crispy fried chicken breast, and it was delicious to taste the quality of the meat. The Tamaten had a perfect soft-boiled texture with just the right amount of batter thickness. I wanted to try the rice dish as well, so I had a simple onigiri. It was a plain onigiri with sesame seeds sprinkled on top, but sometimes simplicity is the best. After returning home, I found out that this shop is a chain of a popular udon restaurant called Udon Suki, with its main branch in Shinsaibashi. The traditional and calm atmosphere of the restaurant, along with the attentive service, made it a great dining experience. Thank you for the meal. Tori Tamaten Bukkake Udon 860 yen, Onigiri 100 yen.

#Osaka Udon Meat Tsukemen#Topped with Burdock Root and Raw Egg, Delicious❗#Meat, Burdock Root, Raw Egg, Perfect Combination♪October 2020❗I was busy yesterday and ended up having a convenience store sandwich and delicious milk for lunch (bitter smile). Today, after finishing work at Grand Front, I had a late lunch at Nishiya in Shinsaibashi, a specialty Osaka udon restaurant. ⭐Meat Tsukemen ¥1000⭐With Shrimp Tempura and Soft-Boiled Egg TempuraMeat tsukemen comes with raw egg and burdock root. "You didn't want the egg tempura, right?" I teased the staff. The correct choice is ⭐Meat Tsukemen with white rice, isn't it? (laughs)You can choose from three scents as an accent: yuzu pepper, sansho pepper, or chili oil. I chose sansho pepper. The aroma of sansho pepper goes well with the sweet and spicy meat dipping sauce. Delicious❗(≧∀≦)ノAs expected, a renowned Osaka udon restaurant. Thank you for the meal~(^o^)

I went to Grand Front for work and decided to have lunch on the 7th floor. After some hesitation, I noticed "Nishiya" in Shinsaibashi and remembered going there for hot pot before. I impulsively went in. Among the various cold udon options, I chose warm curry udon with tempura chicken! It was undeniably delicious, and I finished it quickly. It also came with two tempura chicken skewers and a soft-boiled egg tempura, making it a satisfying meal.

Hello, I am a salaryman living in Minato-ku. Today (8/12/2020), Tokyo reported 222 new cases of COVID-19. The number has been consistently above 200, and with the high temperatures, it feels like a double burden dealing with heatstroke as well. Restrictions have been placed on restaurant operating hours to prevent the spread of the virus, but it seems like infections are not limited to just there. During my business trip to Kansai at the end of July, I had my last dinner here. I didn't have much time, so I chose a place near Osaka Station that wouldn't be crowded, and ended up at Grand Front Osaka South Building. I ordered the recommended meat sauce udon and a frozen sudachi sour from the campaign. As additional dishes for sharing, I also ordered chicken tempura with ponzu sauce, tofu salad, and tonpeiyaki. The udon was slightly soft and flat, with a soy-based sweet and savory dipping sauce that was more on the Kanto-style side, but it was delicious and quite filling. I wonder if it would be well-received by people from Osaka. The tonpeiyaki, a pork belly version of squid okonomiyaki, was quite enjoyable. The service was also good. Thank you for the meal.

It had been about 4 years since I last visited this restaurant. I think the last time I had udon chirashi. The oyakodon with chicken and egg was delicious. The udon here is slightly thin. You can change the flavor with sansho pepper, tempura bits, and raw egg. Without changing the flavor, it would have been monotonous, so I think I would have gotten tired of it halfway through. Oyakodon (single item) with extra meat, topped with premium sansho pepper flavor, large serving.

I wasn't very hungry, but this restaurant seemed popular with salarymen so I decided to try it out. I was thinking of having sukiyaki, but it turned out to be an udon shop, so I tried their signature dish "niku-zuke udon". It's like tsukemen style. You can choose between hot or cold udon, so I went with the cold one for a firmer texture. The niku-zuke sauce is sweet and delicious. It's a great place for a casual lunch in Grand Front. I'd like to try a different menu next time if I get the chance.
