The restaurant was bright and designed with traditional Japanese lattice, giving it a luxurious feel. As I looked at the menu, I came across the "Saboten Red Loin Cutlet Set," which was 150g for 1848 yen. It was introduced as using a rare, purebred breed of Iberico pork (as of December 2018), with a melting point of 32°C, meaning the fat melts at a low temperature. I decided to try it! I started with a cold glass of draft beer. The cabbage was served first, with a choice of sesame dressing or ponzu sauce on the table. I prepared it with some sesame seeds. The restaurant was busy, so it took about 12-13 minutes for the food to be served. The set also came with red miso soup and pickles. I cut the loin cutlet in half and took a photo. I was craving cabbage, so I ordered a set meal with rosukatsu (pork cutlet) and cheese menchikatsu (minced meat cutlet), with a small portion of rice. I also added grated yam and beer. I'm not really into eating rice with tonkatsu though! I started with the cabbage and beer. I prefer my cabbage shredded! By the way, I had sesame dressing and yuzu dressing. As I was enjoying the cabbage, the main dishes arrived - the tonkatsu. The meat was a bit rare, but very tender and delicious. Personally, I like to eat it with salt rather than sauce. The cheese menchikatsu was juicy and tasty! I added a highball and after eating just the right amount, I finished off by pouring grated yam over the small portion of rice. It was a delicious meal! The bill came to around 2500 yen. Surprisingly, tonkatsu is not as heavy as you would expect from a fried dish. I wonder why that is?

For this visit, I chose the "Choose Your Set Meal" option with loin cutlet, minced cutlet, and plum shiso chicken cutlet. I initially ordered white rice. The restaurant was quite busy, but the food was served in about 10 minutes. Here are my thoughts on the taste in bullet points: - Cabbage: Fresh and tasty. - Potato salad: I usually don't like it (I'm not a fan of cucumbers), but it was good without any cucumbers. - Loin cutlet: Average. - Minced cutlet: Made with Iberico pork, but I couldn't really tell the difference, just okay. - Plum shiso chicken cutlet: Refreshing and decent. - Miso soup: Good. - Pickles: Not necessary, no strong opinion. - White rice: Not delicious.
