We made a reservation for three people at 6:00 PM at this popular restaurant that was almost fully booked. We enjoyed a course meal for 10,000 yen which included sashimi, boiled dishes, grilled dishes, sushi, and hot pot. Personally, my favorite was the grilled crab. The crab soup served after the crab hot pot was rich and delicious, with a strong crab flavor. They serve fresh and delicious crab, and it's clear that the restaurant puts a lot of care into their dishes. They seem to only accept reservations and do not accommodate walk-ins. Reservations are a must! The food was incredibly delicious! Although a bit far, I want to recommend this restaurant to everyone!

At the end of the year, it was busy and couldn't make a reservation. A hidden gem of a restaurant in Kitakaga-ya. The full course meal, with more crab than other restaurants, was the reason for choosing this place. Is reservation only for the full course? Full course @ 11,000 yen ⚫︎ Boiled ⚫︎ Sashimi ⚫︎ Sushi (battera) x2 ⚫︎ Grilled ⚫︎ Hot pot (crab miso soup or crab sukiyaki) ⚫︎ Zosui ◆ Shell grilled <- additional order ・Draft beer x2 ・Oolong tea ・Hot sake ・Cold sake x2 The boiled crab was a bit disappointing as it was cold, but the rest was good. Boiled, sashimi, and then came one after the other, which was confusing. The pace of serving was fast. Especially the grilled crab and zosui were delicious. I usually feel sick if I eat too much crab, but this time I didn't feel sick even after eating this much. I was prepared, but why? They frequently changed the crab shell and brought new towels many times. There was only one landlady in the hall. She had a bit of a quirky vibe, but good service. The downside was that smoking was allowed!! People were smoking everywhere! I quietly muttered "smells bad" while having my meal. This was really disappointing. Such a nice meal. The crab... The total bill was 26,920 yen for two people. Thank you for the meal.

I visited after 2 years and heard that the price of crab has gone up, with the course now costing 10,000 yen. It's quite an increase from the 6,200 yen it was 7 years ago. However, I was still very satisfied. I just love eating crab. I tried the crab vinegar with sashimi, half a crab grilled, and then a full crab. I also had crab sushi and crab hot pot. It was a great crab feast this year too.

In the midst of the self-restraint mood due to the coronavirus, my wife and I visited Nonkodo Raku for the second time, cycling for about 30 minutes. We were worried it might be closed, but it was open! We were informed that alcohol orders were until 7pm. The dishes were served in courses - crab vinegar, crab sashimi, crab sushi, grilled crab, and finally a hot pot (crab sukiyaki or crab chili) with rice porridge to finish. It was amazing! We will definitely come back again.

I went to a crab restaurant with people from a welfare facility (^。^) We had boiled crab, crab sashimi, pressed crab sushi, crab hot pot, crab porridge, and more. Everything was delicious, but I liked the crab sushi, grilled crab, and crab hot pot the best. It's been a while since I had so much crab. During the porridge, I felt like I had enough crab and wanted to eat some vegetables instead. The restaurant had tables for 4 people and tatami seating for 6 people, with about 40 seats in total. There was a man in the kitchen and a woman serving, running the place. Despite the impact of the coronavirus, the restaurant was almost full and seemed very popular. The dishes, including boiled, grilled, and sashimi crab, were served one after another at a fast pace. It seemed like a great deal. (o^^o)

I visited this restaurant, "Nomidouraku," at 6:00 pm upon a recommendation for a delicious crab dish. It opens at 5:00 pm, and there were already a few regulars and locals dining. The energetic proprietress greeted us warmly. The head chef used to work at a crab specialty restaurant over 30 years ago and opened this place. The course menu includes boiled crab, sashimi, grilled crab, crab sushi, hot pot, and crab shell grilled (a la carte). The crabs were all large in size, which may not be apparent in the photos. Despite being priced similarly to major or long-established crab restaurants, the size of the crabs here is incomparable. And the taste is absolutely delicious! The meat is packed full and firm, especially the sashimi was exquisite. The portion size is generous as well. For the finale, we chose crab shabu-shabu with a light kelp broth, which really brought out the flavor of the crab. The meat is ready to eat within about 10 seconds in the hot pot. Even though we were already full from the meal, the sight of the food was so appetizing that we ended up eating more than usual. Every dish was delicious, and I would love to visit again, even on a regular day, but the location is a bit out of the way. It's about a 10-minute walk from the nearest station. By around 8:00 pm, the restaurant was fully packed, which is no surprise given the quality of the food. The proprietress manages the floor by herself but is efficient, so the service is quick. I heard they have a stable supply of crabs even in the summer, so I would like to revisit during a less busy period in the summer. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Today was the long-awaited gourmet food walking event with company members, "Gourmet Sanmai." The first stop was handmade udon at Rakuraku, followed by Mifu, Manryo Minamimorimachi, Nabeya, and Hakkai. For the sixth stop, the organizer was Pachiri Omeme-kun, who chose the crab restaurant Hokukagaya. We made a reservation for the full course meal at 7,200 yen and arrived at the restaurant at 7:00 pm. The lively hostess welcomed us, and we were a group of seven people. We started with boiled crab, followed by crab tempura, crab sashimi, grilled crab, crab chili, and crab porridge. We also ordered additional crab shell grilled with miso. We enjoyed sake and beer throughout the meal. The food was delicious and plentiful, and the total cost per person was around 12,000 yen. It was a great experience enjoying crab dishes after a long time. Thank you, Pachiri Omeme-kun, for organizing this wonderful meal!

I had always been curious about Nonkoryaku, so I finally visited. I tried the 10,000 yen course and also got the crab gratin. It was unusual to find a smoking-friendly place.

The volume of crab at this price is cheap. This restaurant allows you to eat crab until you are full.

Located a 10-minute walk from Kitagaya Station on the subway, this hidden gem of a restaurant is nestled in a residential area. Despite having no reviews as of February 2016, the place is always packed whenever you visit. This is a crab specialty restaurant known only to a few. The only option available is the Crab Full Course for 6200 yen, which includes crab vinegar, half a crab sashimi, two pieces of pressed crab sushi per person, half a grilled crab, and a choice between crab chili or crab shabu-shabu, followed by a quarter bowl of porridge as a finisher. In the summer, there is a slightly cheaper course without hot pot, featuring decently sized snow crabs packed with meat. As the dishes start arriving, guests eagerly dig into the crab, savoring every bite with delight. The rich crab miso is also a delicious addition. While dining here once a year is enough, this restaurant is perfect for those looking to indulge in a full-on crab feast.

Crab vinegar, crab sashimi, grilled crab, crab salad, porridge, and crab tempura sushi course for 6500 yen. They source live crabs from Kinosaki and you can even witness a summer demonstration. The sashimi is sweet and of the highest quality, the grilled crab is also amazing! The porridge was delicious too.
