"I've heard the Crab Douraku commercial song but never been there," my friend said, so we decided to go. I have been there a few times and I love their Crab Sukiyaki. We made a reservation and were seated at a table on the 1st floor. There are private tatami rooms as well, but I prefer table seating. First, we ordered my recommended Crab Sukiyaki and other a la carte dishes. [Bottle of Beer (medium) ¥630 Asahi] Cheers with a beer. [Crab Sukiyaki 2 servings ¥4,300 per person (excluding tax)] It's a hot pot made with white soy sauce broth, so you can taste the natural sweetness of the crab, which I love. The light soy sauce flavor allows the crab to taste even more delicious. The final ochazuke (extra charge) made with the overflowing umami from the broth, crab, and vegetables is absolutely fantastic. It seems like the staff usually make it, but you can make it yourself if you ask, which we did. So, we were proud of our own creation. [Crab Sashimi ¥1,800] It's so creamy and sweet. You scoop up the peeled crab meat and eat it without dipping it in anything, which doesn't boost your excitement, but peeling and eating the crab meat yourself is also enjoyable. [Kaminoyama Chardonnay (white wine) ¥3,000] We got a bottle of this Chardonnay from Kaminoyama, Yamagata. It's fruity and pairs well with crab. [Taraba Crab Karaage ¥3,300] It's coated with a "karaage flour" that overpowers the taste, which was disappointing. I would have preferred a simpler coating that allows the crab flavor to shine through. Also, the oil wasn't drained well, making it a bit soggy, which was also disappointing. [Grilled Taraba Crab ¥3,300] Taraba crab is always satisfying and has a great volume. It's sweet! You have to eat it quickly or it will become tough, so be careful. By the time we finished the final ochazuke, we were full! It's great to be able to casually enjoy delicious crab nearby. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice, with a clean and newly renovated space, and the restroom area was also comfortable. Thank you for the meal."
