January 2023, Day 1 of my business trip to Hokkaido. For lunch, I went to a conveyor belt sushi restaurant and had the following dishes at specific times:
- Grilled squid: 13:23
- Winter yellowtail: 13:23
- Fatty herring: 13:28
- Cut-off battleship sushi: 13:30
- Fresh herring battleship sushi: 13:32
- Mountain wasabi roll: 13:37
- Seared fatty river eel: 13:38
- Fresh salmon: 13:39
- Fatty herring: 13:40
- Abura bouzu (fatty herring) battleship sushi: 13:44
In Hokkaido, it's a must to have winter yellowtail. And of course, when in Hokkaido, herring is a must, especially the fatty herring. Despite the many small bones, they add a unique flavor accent. The cut-off battleship sushi is always a good deal and today's version had some interesting ingredients like fish belly or sardine. The recommended dish of the day, fresh herring, was a delight with its milky white roe. The mountain wasabi had a nice kick to it. The seared fatty river eel was irresistible. I usually don't eat raw salmon, but today I decided to try it and it was surprisingly good. Lastly, despite thinking of stopping after the fatty herring, I couldn't resist trying the abura bouzu battleship sushi. It wasn't as greasy as expected. Overall, a happy lunch experience.

I have been to this place many times because it's within walking distance, but come to think of it, I haven't mentioned it before. Anyway, this place offers incredibly high-quality seafood and sushi at a ridiculously low price, making it the best cost performance. However, if I were to offer one criticism or suggestion, it would be that they don't have a sashimi platter. I don't need the rice, I just want to eat the fish sometimes. I wish they would add more single-item menu options!

Actually, I was planning to go to a tan-tan noodle shop. I was on my way there, but when I saw the sign for Hanamaru, my feet naturally led me into the store. Hanamaru has its charm, right? So, I decided to visit on a whim and here is a brief review. I'll pick out what left a strong impression as usual. - "Hebesu Enkawa": Squeezing the hebesu gives a refreshing taste, delicious. - "Toro Takumaki": The texture of seaweed, pickled radish, and toro is irresistible. - "Kaku Toro": A rare cut that can only be obtained from 80 kg of tuna. It's so delicious just by itself, haha. I'll have it seared. - "Mushroom Soup": Mushrooms are in season. I used to go mushroom picking in the old days. I'll sprinkle chili peppers on it towards the end. It's so tasty. This time, I tried hebesu for the first time. To the untrained eye, it looks very similar to sudachi or kabosu, but the flavor and aroma are completely different. Upon researching, I found out that it contains abundant vitamin C and amino acids. The aroma is exceptional as well. Several dishes come with hebesu, so please visit and try it out. I enjoyed it! Thank you for the meal.

Recently, when writing reviews, I've been writing about the hot weather, but I'm tired of writing about the heat now, haha. So, this time I focused on choosing a restaurant with good air conditioning. I went to Hanamaru!! It's so cool inside ^ ^ I visited 20 minutes after opening, and there was already a 15-group wait. The place is bustling. The inside of the restaurant is cool, so I didn't mind waiting at all. While waiting, our turn came. First, we had the usual otsumami and beer. Then, I left some dishes that caught my eye. - Seared flounder: the skin is seared, and the fat is good. - Hokkaido striped shrimp nigiri: it's in season now. - Kazunoko: one of my favorite dishes, the texture is amazing! - Honmaguro akami toro: a rare cut, it sounds delicious just hearing it's rare haha. - Engawa: goes perfectly with shiso. Shiso lovers will love it. - Hakké surimi soup: we had it as a perfect finish. When I visited again after a while, I noticed that the staff had changed. There were 8 sushi chefs at the counter, and around 5 staff in the kitchen and hall! Even with so many staff, the place was still bustling. The inside was full of waiting customers, and there were also customers waiting outside. I think it was my first time visiting on a Sunday, but I didn't realize it was such a popular restaurant. Even though the place was full, I enjoyed my lunch in a cool environment. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant was empty around 2 o'clock, so I was able to get in right away! The medium fatty tuna wasn't that delicious. I forgot to take a picture, but strangely enough, the lean tuna had a richer flavor and was more delicious. Overall, I feel like the taste is not as good as the Hanamaru in Stella Place.

This month is the birthday month of my grandson No. 3 and my brother. Taking this as a cue, I decided to visit the restaurant after a long time. Compared to last time, there are fewer variations in the prices of dishes. There are fewer cheaper options and more focus on dishes in the mid-price range or higher. We dined with a total of 7 people, including my grandchildren, and I was a bit concerned about how much it would cost. Today, there were only 3 plates of surf clam sinew, which was a bit disappointing, but there was delicious flounder (from Rausu) available, which made up for the lack of surf clam. When it came time to pay, the total cost was not much different from usual.

Well, let's pick out some memorable items this time. ◯ Tarabagani (king crab) Fatty and delicious!! I won't say much, please try it!! ◯ Kazunoko (herring roe) It's a must-order item whenever I visit a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. ◯ Torobincho maguro (fatty albacore tuna) The melt-in-your-mouth texture is irresistible!! ◯ Hokke (Okhotsk Atka mackerel) surimi Being a fish store, the soup dish was incredibly delicious!! I enjoyed it! Thank you for the meal.

Rotating sushi is great because you can eat as much as you want. I never realized this before. And then I stumbled upon this place. It's in a neighborhood I rarely visit. Since I don't know when I'll be back, I better make the most of this opportunity! Everything looks delicious... it's hard to choose. I must try the asparagus from Hokkaido. Let's start with a beer. A cold beer hits the spot... Let's also order some shrimp. And then some mackerel. The mackerel here is light and tasty, isn't it? They had squid that's no longer available from Hakodate, I can't remember where it's from today, but it had a nice texture. A little bit of food, a couple of beers, and I leave the restaurant feeling a little tipsy. It was delicious. Now that I've learned how to enjoy this place, I look forward to coming back.

Sapporo has delicious non-conveyor belt sushi, but the quality of conveyor belt sushi is still high. Everyone has their favorite sushi restaurant, but I think this chain is the best. Even after lunchtime, Stella Place is always crowded, but this restaurant is already about 70% full, so you can eat without waiting in line, and the atmosphere is quiet. You can enjoy sushi in a calm environment. The sushi that caught my eye today was monkfish liver tempura and scallop roe. I also ordered my usual toppings (marinated mackerel, silver-stripe round herring, squid). I ordered two plates of each, so they were served as a 4-piece set. It was impressive. I was expecting the monkfish liver tempura sushi to be a certain way, but it was actually a hand-rolled sushi. I tried a bit of the monkfish liver tempura on its own. Delicious, exquisite. The perfect garlic aroma comes through. Garlic is in season in Hokkaido at this time. Speaking of seasonal items, scallop roe is also in season. You can only enjoy such a splendid roe for about a month in spring. I ate it raw, and to be honest, the taste wasn't exquisite (laughs). It's a unique item. Another delicious item was the mountain wasabi spear squid. The fatty tuna nigiri was a hit. The root clump also did not disappoint at this conveyor belt sushi restaurant.

I really love conveyor belt sushi. I could eat it every day. This shop, Konomaru, is a hidden gem where you can usually get in without much of a wait, maybe due to its location. I visited after a long time, around noon. When I entered, there were 2-3 groups waiting, but I was seated shortly after. Then, the place quickly got crowded. I was lucky. They serve dishes like bonito topped with lots of condiments, sardines with ginger, and scallop miso soup with plenty of green onions, all with their own unique touches. I enjoyed a lot of food today too. Thank you for the meal.

Hanamaru has become my favorite place. The menu is extensive and the staff is lively, which is great. And of course, the food is delicious. Today, they have a searing festival, so I might try that. I usually don't like seared dishes because of the gas burner smell. I've tried seared dishes at various restaurants, but I just don't like it. Among all the dishes I tried today, I want to highlight a few.
- Seared surf clam with burnt soy sauce: This was the most delicious among all the seared dishes I tried. I hardly noticed the gas burner smell, and the burnt soy sauce was tasty.
- Kazunoko (herring roe): I always love this dish!
- Tempura shrimp soba: A big tempura shrimp on top! The quality of the soba here surpasses that of conveyor belt sushi restaurants. This is delicious.
Hanamaru is very popular. Sometimes, the operation may not be smooth during peak hours, but it's understandable given the limited staff. Let's be patient and understanding. I enjoyed my meal. Thank you!

Hokkaido's top conveyor belt sushi chain. Last year at the Nemuro main store, I tried the two-story scallop sushi that wasn't available before, and it was very satisfying in terms of both portion size and taste. Recently, I've been hooked on seared sushi, and I tried seared scallop, fatty salmon, and mackerel, all of which were delicious. The seared scallop had a nice, fatty texture that was also excellent. Overall, I was very satisfied with the sushi at this conveyor belt sushi restaurant.

The menu is extensive and the restaurant is lively. Of course, I was drawn back by the taste as well. The menu here is so diverse that there are many dishes I want to try. The side menu also has plenty of options. I couldn't finish everything in one visit, so I'll have to come back a few times. I got so caught up in eating that I only took one photo. But the dish in this photo is incredibly delicious! It's called "kajika soup". This is a must-order dish. I remember having it for dinner at my grandfather's house when I was a child, and the taste has come back to me. Memories from the past may be exaggerated and self-centered, but this taste is undeniable. My grandfather used to say, "The best part of kajika soup is the cheeks of the kajika fish! Because they are always moving due to the mouth, they are tender and elastic! Try it!" And indeed, it is delicious. This time, the kajika soup did not have the cheeks, but it brought back nostalgic memories. Now, back to Hanamaru. When the restaurant quieted down, a man in a suit looked around the restaurant. He then sat down and placed an order. Later, someone who seemed to be his subordinate sat next to him and explained various things. I think he might be an important person at Hanamaru. However, the staff treated everyone equally, regardless of his status, which is great. We enjoyed the delicious food! Thank you for the meal.

I visited for the first time. This place only has a handwritten menu that can only fit four items. The menu is messy and hard to read. Also, there was dust on the counter and it lacked cleanliness. Additionally, since I went at night, many items were sold out and I could only order about four items. The fish was delicious, but overall, Triton might be a better choice. They also offer smaller sushi rice portions.

I suddenly felt like visiting Hanamaru, run by Koyonaku's relatives, so I decided to visit. The place is lively and bustling. With COVID under control, I don't mind so much if people wear masks. Among the many dishes I tried, here are some that were particularly delicious:
- Shrimp tempura: Served with salt, it was hot and creamy. Absolutely delicious!
- Ankimo wrapped in 1000 leeks: Generously topped with leeks, it was delicious.
- Winter yellowtail: Particularly delicious during the cold season! A fish with seasonal fatty flavors.
- Bouzu silver treasure: A white fish with a chewy and sticky texture, also known as "toro".
- Kazunoko: A delicacy that I love.
- Inari sushi with plenty of sauce: Not your average inari sushi. The skin is soaked in sauce and is very creamy.
- Large shrimp tempura soba: I don't have a photo, but it was delicious with a sweet broth and flavorful dashi.
There were plenty of staff working, which is necessary to handle the constant flow of customers. I enjoyed the delicious meal! Thank you for the feast.

I love Hanamaru Nishino store. When it comes to January, it's all about madai (red sea bream)!! I enjoyed various dishes like small plates, gunkan sushi, and tempura. One Saturday, I arrived 5 minutes before the 11 o'clock opening. I was the first group! Soon after, more cars started to arrive. They opened right on time. Unlike the Stella in Sapporo Station, it's first come, first served which is convenient (no reservation tickets from 10 am). We were a group of 3 so we were guided to a booth seat! Booth seats are nice as you can eat comfortably. Looking at the recommended menu, madai is definitely a must-try! I filled out the order sheet and handed it to the energetic chef.
- Madai Gunkan Sushi 1 plate 462 yen
- Madai Tempura 1 plate 462 yen
- Madai Small Plate (with ponzu sauce) 1 plate 594 yen
- Snow Crab 1 piece 352 yen x 3 plates
- Lean Tuna 1 plate 352 yen x 2 plates
- Salmon Roe 1 plate 352 yen
- Fatty Tuna Roll with Pickled Radish 1 plate 352 yen
- Snow Crab Soup 352 yen
The dishes were delicious, especially the fatty tuna roll with pickled radish. The snow crab soup was a bit salty but still enjoyable. I will definitely visit again.

Hanamaru in Nishino is a good choice on weekdays as it's not too crowded. I always order the same thing - salmon, eel, and rolls. The salmon is delicious with large cuts. The seared salmon is also tasty. The fried burdock is also good. The menu isn't very extensive, but the prices are reasonable and the portion sizes are just right. There are no fast lanes, so if it's busy, the service might be a bit slow.

"Nemuro Hanamaru" is a favorite conveyor belt sushi restaurant, and the JR Tower Stellar Place location always has a long line. It has high ratings and is even listed as one of the top 100 restaurants. To compare the ratings and taste, I visited the Nishino location. In conclusion, the menu is almost the same, and the taste is consistent. The atmosphere at this standalone location is more comfortable. The ratings are still somewhat arbitrary. Now, on to the Nishino location on this day. In this season, herring is delicious! It's a blue fish, but it doesn't have a fishy smell, and the elegant fat is delightful. And the double-layered scallops. The scallops are full of umami and sweetness. This is a must-have. Also, the classic mackerel. This mackerel has a moderate amount of fat and is delicious. In terms of something unusual, there was the Nemuro-produced Bozu Kinpo (monk silver treasure). It has a refined and mild white flesh. It was my first time trying it, but it was delicious. The appearance of the fish may seem unappetizing... Thank you for the meal! ☆3.36

I went to a rotating sushi restaurant after hearing that it was really delicious. As a result, I found it to be delicious and cheap compared to other rotating sushi places. I was surprised when I saw the bill after eating what I wanted. I couldn't believe how good and inexpensive it was.

Today's dinner was at "Nemuro Hanamaru" after a long time. As a side note, because I go to Hello Work, it seems that the headquarters of the operating company is located very close to this store... There must be some sort of direct control from the headquarters... Could that be why the quality is good... I thought about things like that... We arrived at the store before 6 pm, as usual with my whole family... We covered most of the meal cost with the "Hokkaido Support Coupon" we got yesterday. It's nice to get the coupon, but the places where you can use it are quite limited... It seems like we use it here a lot. Grandchildren 1 and 2 are still small, so we were able to all sit at one long table. Looking back now, I don't think there were any revolving sushi restaurants in Saitama with such large tables... As usual, my joy in coming here is to eat the hokki himo nigiri. This time, I tried two pieces as usual. However, the shells were small so they were quite smaller compared to last time. But, it's so grateful to be able to eat them raw. Also, the aoshoyu was delicious today. And the chopped battleship sushi was great in terms of cost performance. Furthermore, the silver halibut, which is the best in terms of cost performance, was also delicious... Additionally, the boiled Hokkaido shrimp was rare today... It was good to be able to eat something unusual after a long time. Of course, it was delicious.

After returning from the hot springs in Noboribetsu and receiving a Hokkaido support coupon worth 2000 yen per person, I decided to use it for dining out because my eldest daughter's family, who accompanied me, was sleep-deprived due to their grandchild's night crying. I chose this restaurant from a limited selection, as my satisfaction with the hokki rice bowl I had in Tomakomai yesterday was low and I wanted to redeem myself. We were a group of 7 people and arrived at the restaurant around 5 pm to avoid the crowds. Fortunately, there were plenty of parking spaces and we were able to sit at a table immediately. I ordered a lot of dishes as most of the plates were not free this time. I started with the hokki tendons for my revenge. The tendons were fresh and large, and we ended up ordering a total of 8 plates. The scallops miso soup was also delicious with a generous amount of scallops. The normal salmon was tasty and better than the 100 yen sushi chain. Overall, we spent around 9500 yen, but we couldn't use up the entire coupon. The remaining amount was used to buy diapers for my grandchild at the drugstore on the same premises.
