On this day, I spontaneously visited "Shiroya Bakery Fujita Store."
◇Exterior and Interior
This bakery is located in Fujita, Yahatanishi-ku, Kitakyushu City. It is a well-known establishment in the city, almost to the point where it can be said that every Kitakyushu citizen knows about it. The exterior is easily recognizable with its red and white tent.
◇No seating available.
◇Menu Structure
Their specialty items include the Sunny Pan with condensed milk, omelette, surfing bread, and more. They also offer curry bread, red bean paste buns, cream buns, sandwich buns, French bread, croissants, and more. The items I ordered are as follows:
- Omelette (250 yen) → Tax-inclusive price, comes in a pack of 5. One of the representative items of the store is this omelette. It is a simple pancake with plenty of eggs and whipped cream sandwiched between fluffy dough. Despite being priced at 50 yen each, the satisfaction level is increased by 20%, making it a popular choice as a gift for elderly people.
◆Strengths
A bakery that represents Kitakyushu, offering delicious bread at affordable prices!
◆Customer Service
Average.
◆Conclusion
Unintentionally completed the conquest of Shiroya in the city. Surprisingly, many eateries use Shiroya's bread, but I wonder how it is now. Regardless, I would like to certify this store as a forever 3.5 rating. Thank you for the meal! ^ ^

I visited around 4 p.m. on Saturday. I wanted to try the famous Sunny Pan, but it was sold out. Instead, I bought a pack of 4 strawberry omelettes for 260 yen. They were fluffy and soft, and I finished them in one bite. Next time, I'll try to visit a bit earlier.

I visited the Kurosaki main store and was told that the Sunny Pan was sold out (*T^T). So I walked about 500 meters to the Fujita store... and they had it! And a lot of it too (;゚∇゚) I bought the Sunny Pan and an omelette. I ate the omelette in the car because it needs to be refrigerated. The whipped cream was light and fluffy, and it paired perfectly with the soft dough! The omelette was bite-sized, so it disappeared in no time. The Sunny Pan felt heavy when held. It was a firm bread, like soft French bread? Inside, there was plenty of condensed milk. When you bite into it, the condensed milk overflows, so be careful! My hands got sticky, but it was worth it because it was delicious! After all, it's condensed milk (*´艸`) It's irresistible for condensed milk lovers. It was so delicious!

After having lunch, I casually visited this place around 1:00 PM on Saturday. There were three customers before me. I purchased the following item: Sunny Pan (1 piece) for 120 yen. "Soft French bread filled with plenty of creamy Hokkaido condensed milk!!" The surface of the bread is not crispy, but rather firm. The inside dough is soft and nicely soaked with condensed milk. It's quite sweet. Thank you for the meal.

It's near my husband's parents' house. I went to buy Sunny Pan that I had been interested in after watching it on TV. I forgot to take a photo, but I had three pieces by myself. The dough is not sweet, but be prepared for the amount of condensed milk in it. In the end, it's inevitable that it will overflow and get on your hands, but I finished it without leaving any. It's a bread that is hard to find in other shops. Thank you for the meal.

In Kyushu, there is a familiar bakery where you can easily buy and take home bread. When I visited Kyushu, I was taken to this shop and told that I must try their food! The omelette that you can eat in one bite costs only 40 yen! It's so cheap that it's surprising. It has a light and fluffy texture that makes you want to eat as many as you can. It's not outstandingly delicious, but it's not bad either. I guess everyone buys it casually to take home. It has a casual and easy-to-eat taste. The most popular item, the Sunny Pan, costs 100 yen. It's like a cross between a butter roll and a baguette – with a slightly firm outer layer and a fluffy inside. There's a bit more condensed milk inside, and it oozes out when you bite into it. It tastes like the pastry bread you would buy at an old-fashioned bakery, and it's simply delicious. Both of them were perfect snacks!

On this busy day, in the midst of a packed schedule, I had a little time while running errands in Kitakyushu. I couldn't find parking, so I had my companion go purchase while I waited in the car! I always get 20 of these each time (*^-^) I also bought some Sunny Pan and Kouhen! I've been eating these since I was a child, and the gentle taste hasn't changed at all (///∇///) It's really wonderful. Everyone would fall in love with this cream and texture! It goes well with coffee or tea, right? Delicious! It was a series of delicious bites \(^_^)/ Thank you for the meal!

I parked my car in the parking lot behind the shop and went in to buy some bread. There is a secondhand bookstore on the way, so I stopped by on my way back, but there weren't any particularly interesting books. However, it was a nice and clean bookstore. The bread is sold through a face-to-face sales style where you choose from the showcase. I bought the classic Sunny Pan (5 pieces) and the last remaining Curry Pan. Sunny Pan is considered a local bread and a soul food in Kitakyushu. It was my first time trying it, and it was delicious. It's a firm French bread with condensed milk. And it's only 100 yen per piece, so the price is also cheap. It's easy to see why it has been loved for so long. The Curry Pan had a lot of ingredients and a taste reminiscent of Showa era curry. It was also quite delicious. It's a type of Curry Pan that you don't see often. I will try other breads sometime in the future.

When it comes to well-established bakeries, it's hard not to mention the treasure of Kitakyushu, "Shiroya" and its various locations. I previously wrote about the "Kurosaki" and "Ippin-dori" stores, and now I would like to review the remaining three stores. Personally, the store I frequent the most, "Shiroya Bakery Fujita store," stands out because it has its own parking lot. Unlike other stores located in the city with no dedicated parking, this store has a parking lot in the back. It may only accommodate two cars, but the turnover is quick since most customers are just there to buy bread. As shown in the photo, there is a dog napping near the entrance of the parking lot, so be careful. Located along the main road, Route 3, it is easily accessible. "Shiroya" is not only enjoyable personally but also practical because it is relatively affordable. When you need something quickly, it is easy to stop by. The store used to have a very old-fashioned look, but it has recently been renovated. This has increased my personal desire to purchase from the store. I purchased the following items this time: 1. Custard Cream Bread 2. Camembert Noah 3. Omelette 4. Sunny Bread. The custard cream bread was recommended as new and was moist with a rich custard filling. The Camembert Noah had a delightful walnut texture and a mix of cheese flavors. The omelette and sunny bread need no explanation, as they are popular choices. The slightly softer bread dough of the sunny bread may surprise you. Among the various "Shiroya" stores, this store may be somewhat in the shadows, but in my opinion, it is the most convenient to use. I have mixed feelings about whether I want it to receive more attention or remain as it is, as it may become harder to visit if it becomes too popular. Personal Eatery Rating: 4.0

I had some time and decided to take a drive from Shimonoseki to Fukuoka. After about an hour on the local roads, I arrived in Kurosaki and spotted a shop as I stopped at a traffic light. I knew they were famous for their condensed milk bread, but I had never tried it before. I was excited and went to the parking lot of the shop a little further away. I couldn't take my eyes off the small cakes they had in the store! I bought a bag of 5 Sunny Pans and one omlette for 40 yen each. The Sunny Pan had a rich flavor from the sturdy dough and the sweetness of condensed milk combined perfectly in my mouth, creating an exquisite taste. The omlette, although small, had a perfect balance of whipped cream and sponge cake.

A cheap long-established bakery loved by locals (о´∀`о) Their bread is delicious, including their prepared bread. The Kokura Station front store seems to have many tourists lined up. It's a bakery that I keep going back to. The prices start from under 100 yen.

Walking with JR Kyushu in Kurosaki. Along the course, there is Shiroya's Fujita Store, where everyone gets trapped ^_^) The Fujita Store had been closed for a while for renovations, but it has reopened with a fresh new exterior. When it comes to Shiroya, the usual is to buy a lot of cheap bread. On this day, I had just finished having breakfast, so I tried the new product, Caramel Sunny Bread for 90 yen. The other new product, the apple omelette, was already sold out, so I got two regular omelettes for 80 yen. I took a break during my walk and enjoyed them. The Sunny Bread has a firm and chewy texture with caramel filling that can be a bit messy if not careful ^_^) The caramel is quite sweet. The omelette had a gentle cream taste that was refreshing. The walking map mentioned that Black Sesame France and Surfing are the soul food of Kitakyushu. I haven't tried either yet. Maybe next time I can give them a try.

I visited Shiroya Bakery's Fujita store in Yahatanishi-ku, Kitakyushu City. The location is about a 10-minute walk from JR Kurosaki Station along the national highway. It has been about 5 years since I last visited here. There is also a Shiroya store in Kurosaki, which I usually visit, but this time I passed by the Fujita store and decided to stop by to buy some bread. Shiroya is a popular bakery in Kitakyushu City. As far as I know, the Kogane store, Kurosaki store, and Fujita store have been around for over 40 years, and have been popular since then. They also opened a store at Hakata Station 3 years ago, which seems to be popular as well. It was 10 am on a weekday. Although the traffic on the national highway seems to be heavy in this area, there doesn't seem to be a lot of foot traffic. However, there were always customers at Shiroya. The bread I bought this time was a cheese bread (90 yen) and a raisin bread (90 yen). After returning to the hotel, I tried them. The cheese bread had a crispy cheese topping. The bread itself was sweet, so the crispy cheese also had a sweetness that was delicious. Overall, the bread was on the sweeter side. I haven't had their bread in years, but I remember their bread being sweet as well. The raisin bread had a lot of raisins, and there were also some pieces of pineapple in it. The sweetness of the pineapple complemented the raisins well, enhancing the sweetness and flavor. The bread I had this time wasn't very big, but at 90 yen each, they were reasonably priced. I appreciate that. I didn't try their popular items, Sunny Pan and Omelette, this time, so I would like to buy them at another store next time. Thank you for the meal.

When I went back home with my family, we stopped by a beloved bakery in Kitakyushu. This place has been a favorite since I was a child, and their bread is considered one of the soul foods of Kitakyushu residents. While their signature item is the hard roll bread filled with condensed milk, called "Sunny Pan", my favorite is the simple dessert called "Omurice" - a fluffy sponge cake with cream filling. It costs 35 yen each, and I bought 20 of them because they are palm-sized. They disappeared in no time with my family. Thank you for the delicious treats. We will definitely come back again.

Today, I participated in a stamp rally collaboration with the Kurosaki-shuku Festival through the JR Kyushu Walking event. First, I visited the showroom of Yasukawa Electric behind the station to see robots, then climbed the 50-meter-high Castle Mountain to reach the temporary "One Night Castle" that only appears during the festival. After descending the mountain, I arrived at Shiroya where I found out that some sandwiches and pastries were not available due to the renovation of the Kokura store. I hesitated a bit but ended up buying my usual red bean donut and trying a horn bread for the first time, which is a baked bread topped with sugar and butter. Each cost 90 yen. On weekends, mothers buying 10 or 20 pieces of these pastries as snacks for their children's soccer or baseball games can be seen lined up. Continuing the walk, I took a break at the picturesque Magari Namiki Street in Kurosaki-shuku on the Nagasaki Kaido highway. The red bean donut was chewy with plenty of sweet red bean paste inside. The horn bread had a perfect sugary surface and the combination of sweet flavors did not clash. Now, let's push on a little further to reach the finish line!

The other day, while riding my bike leisurely on Route 3 on my way to Kokage Coffee, I got caught at a red light and happened to look to my left. I saw Shiroya? I often pass by this road, and the Matsuya on the opposite side vaguely rings a bell, but I didn't notice Shiroya before. I decided to visit the place on a whim, parked my bike, and saw that there was a parking lot on the other side of the shop. I moved my bike and parked in the lot. I bought a milk bread for ¥90, a cheese bread for ¥100, an anpan for ¥90, and two omelettes for ¥40 each. These will be my breakfast and lunch bread for tomorrow. When I checked the bread at home, the omelette wasn't squished. Lucky me! The truth is, all the bread is just average in my opinion. I don't really see any appeal other than the affordability, but for some reason, Shiroya's bread is very popular. Maybe there's something special that people from Kitakyushu feel about it.

Shiroya Bakery is famous for its omelettes and sunny pan. It recently opened a new store at Hakata Station and has become explosively popular. However, for the residents of Kitakyushu, the taste has been familiar for many decades. Let's skip talking about the high cost performance of the omelettes and sunny pan, and focus on "Anon," which I tried for the first time on a friend's recommendation. I didn't even know the name "Anon," and when I heard it was a "cheese-based" pastry, I was intrigued. At the counter, I met a cream cheese-filled brioche. I'm not a big fan of brioche, but I decided to buy one anyway. The texture was a bit mushy, making me crave tea or coffee, but even though I don't particularly like brioche, I found it delicious. It might be irresistible for those who like it.
