I wanted to go to the popular Genghis Khan restaurant, Daikokuya, nearby, but I couldn't reach them by phone. I called the day before going to ask if they were open and what times were less busy. I went the next day. Currently, they do not take reservations. I asked the staff for recommendations and ordered Premium Raw Lamb, Premium Lamb Lamp, Salted Lamb Tongue (thinly sliced and thickly sliced), Tomato Salad, Egg Soup, Oolong Tea, and Cola. Personally, I found the thinly sliced lamb tongue very easy to eat, with a great texture. The thickly sliced lamb tongue was also easy to eat, but I prefer the thin slices because they can be eaten faster. The staff were also very friendly and provided good service.

It's been a while since I visited Asahikawa. I decided to try the top-ranked Genghis Khan restaurant on Tabelog, but it was crowded, so I went to this place instead. They have counter seats where you can dine alone, which is nice. The staff are friendly and they cook the meat for you, which is a nice touch. The premium raw lamb meat is thick and delicious when cooked medium rare. The tongue meat is especially tasty! I got the thick cut, which turned fluffy and had a great salty taste when cooked. The only downside was that sitting at the counter alone, the hot pot was too close and it got a bit hot and greasy, so I couldn't stay long. But the meat was so delicious, I left satisfied!

I came to Asahikawa to support a soccer team at the Inter-High and decided to come here after being told it was okay to dine alone at the counter. The place seems quite busy. I ordered two servings of premium raw lamb, raw lamb with salt, and a salad. The dishes arrived, and they explained the process and started grilling them a bit. As for the taste, it was a bit tough. Even the premium one was tough. Hmm, maybe I should have gone to the restaurant I couldn't get a reservation at.

I visited the restaurant around 6:00 pm on a weekday and was able to enter without waiting too long. However, 30 minutes later, the restaurant was full and there were people waiting outside. By the time I left, there were about 5 groups waiting outside. Although Daikokuya is famous in Asahikawa, my local friend recommended this place and it was definitely the right choice. All the meat dishes were delicious, and despite being very busy, the staff were polite and attentive. I would definitely want to visit this restaurant again if I have the chance.

This day was Sunday, and many restaurants in this town of Asahikawa are closed. After calling a few places with no luck, I finally got a response from this restaurant saying they had one table available. However, they don't take reservations so it's first come, first served. I hurried over and managed to snag the last table. While they were preparing our seats, five more groups lined up behind us. We enjoyed a meal with all-you-can-drink, salt-flavored meat, sauce-flavored meat, tomato slices, kimchi, edamame, and dessert. The salt-flavored meat was delicious and just the way I like it.

Visited on a holiday night. Waited in line for about 30 minutes to get in. It seemed like they had just reopened as the interior was clean. It took 30 minutes for the first drink to be served after ordering... I wish they had brought the drinks out first... And even after that, the drink service was slow... The Genghis Khan hot pot had a unique shape! I enjoyed tasting various parts of lamb! Delicious~♡ They also had venison, which was also delicious♡

I stopped by a great restaurant on the way back from Asahiyama Zoo, and it was truly a taste that can only be experienced in Hokkaido. If you ever have the chance to visit Asahikawa, I highly recommend it! I had the pleasure of trying the fresh Suffolk lamb Jingisukan, not frozen, cooked medium rare. The meat was incredibly flavorful and tender, with no hint of gaminess. The Jingisukan sauce was well infused, making it delicious and I couldn't help but devour it. And the most surprising part was the Ezo venison! I had tried Ezo venison at a fusion restaurant before, but this time I had the tongue and heart parts. The tongue was so flavorful and packed with richness, surpassing even beef tongue in taste. I couldn't help but widen my eyes while eating it. It was so delicious that my dining companion and I exchanged looks of amazement. I would love to find a restaurant in Tokyo where I can enjoy delicious fresh lamb Jingisukan. Thank you for another delicious and happy dinner today.

A new restaurant has opened! The interior has been nicely renovated, and there seems to be a large room in the back. Today, I decided to go on a food hopping adventure, so I ordered two servings of Genghis Khan and one serving of raw lamb (salted). The Genghis Khan was prepared for us at first, which was very helpful. It had a slightly sweet flavor and was very delicious. It disappeared in no time. The raw lamb was great with the seasoning provided. I was very satisfied. I would like to go back again.

I decided to try this restaurant on a whim as it was located on the same side street as a popular Genghis Khan restaurant that had a long line. I didn't have a reservation but was able to get in, although they seemed to be turning away walk-in customers afterwards for some reason. The restaurant had a cute sheep design, but I couldn't see any sheep in the Genghis Khan pot. I ordered the egg over rice, which came with a generous portion of rice and a light-tasting egg. I tried the lamb, which was cut into small pieces making it easy to eat. It was tender and of good quality. I also tried the deer meat, which was very tender and had no unpleasant smell. It was delicious with just salt and pepper. Overall, I left satisfied, but the one thing that bothered me was that when they put lamb fat in the Genghis Khan pot, the fat would get dirty with the pot's residue. It would turn brown. Proper maintenance of the Genghis Khan pot is crucial, and I couldn't overlook this. If they don't clean it thoroughly after each use, it will rust quickly. I take good care of the Genghis Khan pot at home, so this was disappointing to see. This lack of attention to detail affected my overall rating of the restaurant.

Everyone remembers the taste they experienced in their childhood, and that taste becomes a rail that they will never forget as they grow older. I was born in Asahikawa and spent my formative years there. As a child, I often ate ramen and Genghis Khan. Ramen, at that time, did not have labels like Sapporo ramen or Asahikawa ramen. The local ramen shops only had one menu item: "ramen," which was actually soy sauce ramen. Even now, in Asahikawa, famous ramen shops do not differentiate between types like miso or salt ramen on their menus. Now, Genghis Khan. The Genghis Khan we ate at home was pre-marinated lamb meat bought from nearby supermarkets or butcher shops. Each butcher shop had its own marinated lamb meat, which was considered Genghis Khan by Asahikawa residents. Nowadays, Genghis Khan is often made with raw lamb meat cooked in a skillet and seasoned with salt or dipped in sauce. I had business in Asahikawa and stayed overnight. I wandered around the nightlife district 3-6 and found a restaurant called "Asahikawa Genghis Khan Hitsujiya." I ordered the "Hitsujiya Genghis Khan," "raw lamb salt," "lamb tongue salt," "lamb shoulder," and rice. The "Hitsujiya Genghis Khan" had meat marinated in sauce, which was a typical Asahikawa style. The "lamb shoulder" was sliced like a disc and needed sauce added, similar to what I had at the Sapporo Beer Garden. The "raw lamb salt" and "lamb tongue salt" were enjoyed as lamb barbecue rather than traditional Genghis Khan. The meat was delicious, and the sauce did not overpower the natural flavor. Personally, I prefer the traditional marinated lamb meat in Genghis Khan. It is hard to find a restaurant that serves marinated Genghis Khan. I hope that Asahikawa and surrounding areas will continue to preserve the tradition of marinated Genghis Khan.

I visited Hitsujiya, a Genghis Khan restaurant in Asahikawa, where a strong commitment to meat can be felt. I strongly recommend making a reservation in advance, as they were turning away customers who showed up without one. The meat is tender and flavorful, and considering the quality, the prices are reasonable.

Asahikawa was my first time. Since Daikokuya was too crowded, I chose this place instead! Even though I'm not from Hokkaido, being able to drink Sapporo Classic in a beer mug is the best. And they even have large mugs!! So delicious! Cheers! I love this beer the most. I tried the special Genghis Khan, premium raw lamb, raw lamb, and shoulder, and all of them were delicious! So tender!! You can eat them as they are, or add some spices from the table. Also, maybe because it's Hokkaido, the vegetables are incredibly tasty. The onions are so sweet! There were tourists, but also local families from Asahikawa. It's really true that people in Hokkaido eat lamb!

This is my second visit to Hokkaido. I used to think that lamb meat was smelly and disliked the odor, but my concept of Genghis Khan changed here! So, if you are going to Hokkaido, this is a restaurant I definitely wanted to visit. Lamb meat can be eaten semi-raw. At first, they cook it for you, so even if you are not used to Genghis Khan, you can feel at ease. In fact, if you are not a Hokkaido local, you don't usually cook Genghis Khan, right? Haha. I ate plenty this time too and was full. If you like lamb meat without any odor, I recommend it.

●November 2, 2020 (Monday)●I visited this restaurant with the intention of trying Genghis Khan in Hokkaido. There were many tatami seats, and groups of people were enjoying themselves. Compared to the restaurant I visited recently, "Daikokuya," where there seemed to be a strange tension of "Let's eat Genghis Khan," this place had a more relaxed atmosphere. The staff were friendly and we had a pleasant chat. We ordered Chanja as an appetizer, Genghis Khan, raw lamb, lamb tongue, and lamb chops. Genghis Khan was similar to regular yakiniku, with a bit of a unique taste but relatively easy to eat. The raw lamb had a stronger taste, but it was intriguing and memorable. The lamb tongue was light and easy to eat. The lamb chops were huge and we enjoyed them heartily. Lastly, we ordered lamb leg and premium raw lamb. The lamb leg was a new part for me, but it had a satisfying texture and was not bad. However, the premium raw lamb at the end was overwhelmingly delicious, and I regretted not ordering it from the beginning, as the price difference was only about 200 yen. When it comes to taste alone, "Daikokuya" may be better, but this restaurant's casual atmosphere and seasoning make it perfect for drinking. The frozen lemon in the Ice Lemon Sour was refreshing and the alcohol kept flowing. I got pleasantly drunk on the way home for the first time in a while.【Rating】★★★★★★★★ 8/10【Certified Excellent Restaurant!!!】

Night of the 2nd day of the business trip in Asahikawa. Started with Genghis Khan. The restaurant is not very spacious, but it was crowded, usually there is a line. Lucky to get in without waiting this day. Genghis Khan cuisine is a Hokkaido classic. Definitely want to eat it once when in Hokkaido. The quality of the meat is good, and the seasoning is also good. However, compared to the Genghis Khan cuisine I had in Chitose the other day, it was a bit less tasty, perhaps my taste buds have become more refined. The frozen lemon in the lemon sour is delicious. The original is a deep-fried food shop in Koiwa. It's great that they are being used even in Asahikawa, Hokkaido. This style of lemon sour is the most delicious!

Sanroku Town It's been a while since I visited Sanroku Town. I haven't been going out much lately, but this time it was for food, not drinks. I've been passing by this restaurant every week since it opened, so I was curious to try it out. The restaurant is not very big, so it's probably a good idea to make a reservation if you really want to go. I was able to get in without a reservation, but it was around 6:30 pm. By 7:00 pm, the reserved tables were all full. The menu had a variety of options, including Genghis Khan hot pot in the shape of Hokkaido. The hot pot was placed on a charcoal grill in the shape of Hokkaido, with the restaurant's logo on it. It's probably something that tourists would appreciate more than locals. The Genghis Khan hot pot is typically made with lamb, but there are also versions with pork or chicken. The restaurant served only one slice of raw lamb at a time, which was placed on the hot pot by the staff. The vegetables that came with it were limited to just a small amount of bean sprouts. I asked if I could order additional vegetables, and was told that only the bean sprouts were included. The secret sauce was a bit sweet, so adding some spice like shichimi or garlic was a common practice. The lamb was cooked nicely with a good char on the outside. I also ordered some salt to try with the lamb, and it complemented the meat well. I decided to try the lamb tongue as well, which was served in a small portion. It was thinly sliced, so it shrunk even more when cooked. Overall, the food was delicious and the experience was enjoyable.

I headed to a nearby yakiniku restaurant, but the old lady there was rude and ignored me, saying it would take over 30 minutes to order because a large group had just arrived. So, I decided to look for another restaurant and ended up trying a place nearby that serves lamb. The restaurant was called "Daikokuya" and it turned out to be good. The frozen lemon sour was a bit pricey at 600 yen, and there were no appetizers. They served Genghis Khan lamb hot pot on a small grill shaped like Hokkaido. I ordered the salted raw lamb for 750 yen, which turned out to be quite expensive for just 4 slices. The staff helped with the initial cooking, but after that, you're on your own. The meat was tender and not too gamey, but in terms of cost performance, other places might be better. The green salad was a huge portion of lettuce and watercress with onion dressing, which was tasty. I also tried the premium rump for 900 yen, which had a bit more chewiness. The lamb tongue for 800 yen and lamb shoulder for 700 yen had slightly different textures and increased gaminess compared to the raw lamb. Overall, it was a unique experience for me as I'm not used to eating lamb, so my review may not be very helpful.

In Asahikawa, when it comes to Genghis Khan (Mongolian barbecue), Daikokuya is famous, but a fellow competitor took me to Hitsujika, saying, "This place always has a long line at night." The interior of the restaurant is clean and stylish, with a fashionable design. You choose the meat while looking at the menu. I selected Hitsujika Genghis Khan, raw lamb, sauce, and salt. I also ordered sheep liver pate and lamb wieners. When ordering a beer, if there are four or more people, there is an all-you-can-drink option, but since there were two of us, we ordered individual drinks. The staff rolled a dice, and the price of the beer changed based on the result, which was an interesting system. First, I tried the raw lamb with salt. Juicy... juicy... It's delicious just as it is. What!! The natural flavor of the lamb spreads in my mouth without adding sauce. Next, I tried the raw lamb with sauce. Juicy... juicy... It's delicious with the sauce! Please bring me some rice! The raw lamb with sauce goes really well with rice. Hitsujika Genghis Khan, with the typical Asahikawa sauce added. It's also delicious with the sauce! Even though the meat texture is different from the raw lamb, it's tasty! You can eat it heartily when mixed with bean sprouts and onions. I had the sheep liver pate as a palate cleanser. It's also delicious! I felt like having wine, but since beer was cheaper due to the dice game, I continued with beer. This is a great restaurant that I would love to visit again.

When I visited Hokkaido on a trip, I stayed at OMO7 and went on a tour to this restaurant. It seems that reservations may be necessary as walk-ins were turned away while we were dining. It's a small restaurant. The sauce is said to be a secret recipe. However, locals also enjoy eating it with salt. The secret sauce was also delicious ♡ The number one recommendation is the Premium Lamb. The grill is shaped like Hokkaido, which is cute ♡ It was also displayed on the wall as a decoration. Actually... I'm not a fan of Genghis Khan (grilled lamb) but I was able to enjoy it at this restaurant. The reason I don't like Genghis Khan is because of its unique smell. However, I was able to eat Genghis Khan without any smell, like grilled meat. I would like to visit this restaurant again if I have the chance to go to Asahikawa next time.

For dinner, I went to Sanroku Street and had Genghis Khan at Hitsujika, a restaurant I had reserved on Tabelog. The interior of the restaurant had tables and small raised private rooms, but it wasn't very spacious and couldn't accommodate 20 people. I made a reservation for 5:30, but the restaurant quickly filled up. It's a popular place. The menu is a bit pricey, but they have many unique items like lamb tongue and lamb ribs. I ordered the Hitsujika Genghis Khan with a small side of rice, a beer, premium raw lamb, and grilled vegetables. The pot here is shaped like Hokkaido! There was a description about grilling the vegetables in Wakkanai or Abashiri. It was fun. The Hitsujika Genghis Khan was incredibly tender, and the sauce was light and delicious. The premium raw lamb was amazing, and it cost 900 yen per serving. It's called Suffolk Cross Lamb, and it was surprisingly delicious. The lamb ribs were the best, with the richness of the fat being impressive. I even got a second serving of rice because it was so good. The prices are not cheap, but the quality of the meat is high. They have unique Genghis Khan options, making the experience enjoyable. The service was also attentive. I look forward to trying another Genghis Khan dish next time.
