In the Nakatsu Shopping Street in Osaka Tamatsukuri, there is a nostalgic powdered food bakery called "Maitaya"♪ It had been many years since I last visited, and this time I tried their sweet treats such as okonomiyaki, takoyaki, and especially their traditional-style taiyaki which I used to enjoy as a child. I purchased the "Taiyaki (Red Bean Paste)" for only 80 yen. It was thick and had a slight sweetness, not too overwhelming. It had a nostalgic taste that reminded me of my childhood, and it brought back memories of my late great uncle who used to treat me to these. It was a cheap and old-fashioned powdered food bakery that I enjoyed visiting after a long time. I may have a personal bias towards this place, but I think it's a good spot to experience the traditional flavors. If you have the chance, why not stop by and give it a try? Maita-ya in Osaka is famous for its flour-based dishes such as okonomiyaki and takoyaki. Everything here is super cheap! It's only a 5-minute walk from Tamatsukuri Station. You can see them making the dishes on YouTube. Check it out at foodiesheena. #okonomiyaki #takoyaki #obanyaki #Kansai #KansaiTravel #KansaiSightseeing #KansaiGourmet #flourbaseddishes #cheap #yakisoba #artisanaltechnique #Tamatsukuri #OsakaGourmet #Osaka #Maita-ya #OsakaSightseeing #OsakaTravel #japan #japanesefood #butatama #foodielovers #foodiegirls #foodietravel #foodieloverswanted #Do you like it?

Hello! I live in Tsuruhashi, Osaka, which is a fairly well-known town in Osaka. Next to Tsuruhashi is a town called Tamatsukuri. I always thought it had something to do with making gun bullets, but it turns out that in ancient times, there was a department that made magatama jewels, which is where the town's name comes from. Interesting, right? Anyway, in modern-day Tamatsukuri, there is a pretty big shopping street with various shops. I recently tried some okonomiyaki from a takeout shop called Maitaya. It was delicious! Okonomiyaki is always good, but the ones from the shop had a nice fluffy texture. I sometimes make okonomiyaki at home, but the ones from the shop were different - the texture was crispy and light. It was really tasty! I might visit again in the future. If you have the chance, I recommend giving it a try too!

I have my own criteria for feeling that anything under 30 yen per piece is a good deal, and I found it again at Tamatsukuri after discovering it at Sekime the other day. I got all 10 pieces that were just cooked for 250 yen. The broth is not too strong or too light, and you can enjoy the taste of the American flour. The texture is neither too soft nor too hard, and the jelly-like filling is my favorite. I love eating takoyaki with the classic sauce and mayonnaise sprinkled with bonito flakes! While eating on the bench next to the shop, more and more customers keep coming in. Could it be because the brother cooking looks like Yasufumi Terawaki?

Tamatsukuri Shopping Street - Food Tour - Last Review♪ It has quite a B-class feel, doesn't it? (lol) In front of this shop, there was a crowd... Takoyaki, taiyaki, omusoba, and yakisoba are being sold at very reasonable prices as far as I know♪ I hesitated a bit, but the yakisoba being grilled with a spatula and shining with sauce looked very delicious, so I chose the yakisoba☆ There was a bench with a cushion in front of the shop, so I sat there (^^) ♡ Yakisoba (small) 250 yen They asked if I wanted nori and pickled ginger toppings, but I chose only nori. It's a bit lonely without the red color for visual appeal, isn't it?! The freshly made hot and shiny yakisoba with sauce at the storefront was very delicious♪ There was quite a lot of cabbage in it too☆ I got full halfway through eating, so I took the rest home♪ At home, the noodles had cooled and absorbed the sauce. I think it's best to eat it at the storefront♪ I think this shopping street is quite small compared to the previous one. There are other places to eat like cakes, Japanese sweets, side dishes, and another bakery, so it seems like you can do more food tours♪ I wish I had a body that could eat more without gaining weight (lol) Thank you for the meal ♡ It's fun to share and go around with a few people to try various foods on a food tour~☆

Title: "1000 yen will fill you up completely" As the title suggests, with 1000 yen you can get completely full. The cost performance is excellent! I mainly use it for lunch, and I get so satisfied that I don't feel like moving for a while after eating. I usually order the omu-soba, but they also sell large pancakes, so I buy 1 or 2 for dessert. Even with all this, I still get change back from 1000 yen. Amazing cost performance! Food Ordered: Item: Omu-soba Taste: Bold flavor, just the way I like it! Presentation: Plenty of sauce, seaweed, and mayonnaise Speed: It takes a bit of time because they have to cook the egg for the omu-soba, but it's only about 2-3 minutes! Other items are served quickly!!! Thank you for the meal! m(_ _)m

I personally visit the area around Tamatsukuri for work, and when I have some free time, I often take a leisurely stroll through the "Hinode Shotengai" towards Tsuruhashi. On this occasion, I found a popular local shop located about 500m down the arcade from the Hinode Shotengai towards Tsuruhashi. This shop mainly sells flour-based dishes, and their takoyaki, okonomiyaki, and yakisoba are simply delicious. In my personal experience, they rank among the top in terms of quality. Especially the okonomiyaki is unbelievably delicious for the price! It is fluffy and has a good texture, with a flavorful batter that is truly outstanding. The takoyaki is crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, with a flavorful batter that makes it tasty even without sauce. The yakisoba also has a nice balance of sauce that brings out its savory aroma. The menu is simple, but each dish is made with dedication and passion, surpassing even some high-end okonomiyaki restaurants. The staff at the shop are friendly and create a warm atmosphere, making you feel right at home. This shop, located under the eaves in the traditional downtown area, truly embodies the charm of the neighborhood. I hope it continues to thrive as a beloved gem in Tamatsukuri, maintaining its unpretentious and welcoming vibe.

There is a long-established shop in Gyokuzo shopping street that has been around for decades. My wife has been going there since she was a child. We often stop by on our way back from the supermarket to buy their delicious taiyaki (60 yen). They offer taiyaki with red bean paste, chocolate, and custard fillings, which taste just as good as the more expensive ones sold in department stores. Sometimes we also buy yakisoba or takoyaki from there. While there is no standout menu item, everything is decently tasty. What's most appealing is that it has been beloved by locals for a long time and is considered a cultural heritage of Gyokuzo.

I successfully composed a poem. I strolled around the Tamatsukuri Hino-de Shopping Street over the weekend. I discovered a flour-based snack shop that seemed to be loved by locals. They also sell taiyaki. Everything is reasonably priced. The takoyaki is also cheap. The Butatama is filled with plenty of eggs and cabbage, with a fluffy batter. The mild saltiness allows you to taste the sweetness of the ingredients while enjoying the delicious okonomiyaki. There are still many hidden gem restaurants in Tamatsukuri that I have not reviewed yet. Thank you for the meal.

In December 22, I traveled from Tokyo to Osaka alone. I had seen this restaurant on YouTube before and wanted to visit here. I arrived at the shopping street about 2 minutes from exit 5 of Tamatsukuri Station. Unfortunately, it was closed on Sunday, so I visited again on Monday. I enjoyed delicious takoyaki, yakisoba, and taiyaki. I borrowed a chair in front of the shop and was able to eat them while they were still hot. The staff were kind and the atmosphere was cozy. Next time, I would like to try okonomiyaki and omusoba.

I always passed by this shop and the delicious smell of the sauce caught my attention. I finally bought some while wandering around Morinomiya and Tamatsukuri. Even when I ate it at home, warming it up in the microwave made it taste just like freshly baked. The price was also very cheap at 350 yen.

I love takoyaki, whether it's crispy on the outside, fluffy, with or without sauce, or even fried. But my favorite is the takoyaki from this place. It's cheap but delicious. Their simple, traditional takoyaki makes me want to keep eating it over and over again.
