In the scorching sun, I went to the intended store in Kenkō, but unexpectedly it was closed for the day. Oh well... I decided to aimlessly walk towards Yakuin Station. It was so hot... I stopped by a nice miscellaneous goods store. There was a café on the second floor called "Potters." They had a lunch menu, but I just wanted to take a break, so I ordered an iced coffee. I spent a relaxing time in a stylish space. The scones I bought as souvenirs were delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I often passed by the store front of POTTERS, thinking it was a miscellaneous goods store selling pottery and such. However, a friend told me they also serve lunch, so I decided to visit. The cafe space is on the second floor and has a stylish and open atmosphere. I thought it would be mostly women, but surprisingly about half of the customers were men. I arrived after 1 pm, so the daily special was already sold out. I ordered the curry lunch (990 yen incl. tax) which was beautifully presented by a female chef. The salad was mostly lettuce with a refreshing French-style dressing. The curry had a generous amount of sauce, with sautéed eggplant and pickles on the side. It was a European-style curry with vegetables and a moderate level of spiciness, which I found delicious. The rice was also tasty. It was just the right amount for me, but might be a bit small for men. I chose coffee as my drink, which had a nice bitterness. With a bit of milk, it was just right for me. The lunch set with coffee for 990 yen is quite reasonable. The menu listed a blend coffee for 600 yen, so the lunch set is a good deal. I enjoyed the curry and would like to try the daily special if it suits my taste.

This is a famous miscellaneous goods store on the second floor. There is no elevator. I had a Morgen and Meringue Tart for 420 yen. My mother had Chai and Pistachio Cake for 550 yen. Drinks are 600 yen and 500 yen. The dishes and cutlery are lovely! As expected! There were other cakes available as well, such as pound cake and cookies. The tart had a normal taste. The pistachio cake had a crispy outer layer and a mousse inside, which was enjoyable! Both the appearance and taste were good. The Chai was a serious spice with zero sweetness. The Morgen was a Chinese tea aroma blend from a German tea company. The aroma was not too strong, the Chinese tea was not too strong, and it paired well with Western-style cakes. Both the Chai and tea were generous in quantity and reasonably priced. The seating area is not cramped but has a small number of seats.

Located around Yakuin Rokkaku in Fukuoka, past Kamijinbashi Street. The first floor is a miscellaneous goods store with a cafe on the 2nd floor. It has a stylish atmosphere. It's a bit away from Tenjin, so you won't have trouble finding a seat even during tea time. I recommend checking out cafes that are a little further away! The Mont Blanc I had there had vanilla ice cream inside. It was simply delicious.

The Linzertorte is a sinful delight. It's cute, delicious, and meant to be enjoyed alone. It's a mix of cookies and cake with a hint of spice, yet incredibly sweet. It may sound like a seductive woman when described, but I also appreciate the simple rustic charm. In other words, everything here is a hit. I will definitely visit again. Thank you.

I encountered a high-level lunch. The colors of the salad and the homemade onion dressing were delicious and soothing. I also felt the sensation of minerals permeating my body with the right amount of salt. What elevated my satisfaction was actually the rustic bread. I decided to take it home for 130 yen, hoping to recreate the lunchtime excitement. The rustic bread uses a high-hydration dough that is difficult to handle, so there is no "shaping" process. I happily debated which unique bread to choose as a souvenir. The bread was baked until crispy on the outside, with a firm crust. The initial impression was the hard, crunchy texture typical of French bread. Soon, I reached the soft crumb inside. It was moist and chewy, without any additional ingredients, yet its freshness and fragrance were delightful. The 800 yen lunch was skillfully concluded with a medium-roast after-dinner coffee. Surrounded by lovely interior, I felt like I became more beautiful than when I arrived. Thank you very much.

We had a meeting outside the office at a cafe nearby that I had never been to before. The cafe was surprisingly stylish despite being located above a shop selling tableware on the first floor. The cafe's website only listed lunch menus, but they were okay with customers just coming in for coffee. There were hardly any customers in the evening, so we enjoyed delicious coffee while discussing work.

I had a simple crepe with butter and sugar, along with Earl Grey tea. The crepe was chewy and had just the right amount of sweetness, which I liked. Lately, I haven't been able to eat overly sweet desserts, so this kind of dessert might be good for me.

Sometimes, I feel like wandering around and I end up at "BBB Potters" in Yakuin. I love looking at the beautifully shaped glasses there. And while I'm there, I also visit the café on the 2nd floor. It's a relaxed space with a nice atmosphere. In recent years, there have been cafés with miscellaneous goods in department stores like D&Department, but this one in Fukuoka is more original. It is relatively close to the Yakuin Rokkaku intersection, and there is a parking lot on the first floor, so many people who know it aim to visit here, and there are always a few cars parked. I heard before that Yakuin in Fukuoka City is like Omotesando in Tokyo, but I always thought it was more like Yoyogi, but the area where Potter's is located has a slightly similar atmosphere. Well, it feels a bit fashionable (laughs). Across from Potter's, there is a specialty olive oil shop called Oliosanto, and nearby, there is a cheese specialty shop called Ouguruman, as well as stylish boutiques. It's more like Jiyugaoka or Daikanyama than Omotesando, but still (laughs). In addition to galettes, the food menu also includes paninis and various types of cakes. When work is busy and you can't eat lunch during lunchtime, it's convenient that the café has a food menu even after lunchtime. I've been having galettes a lot at the nearby LeBRETON recently, so I thought I'd try something else and ordered a tomato and cheese galette. Tomato and cheese galette ¥630 (tax included) Fruit tea ¥520 (tax included) The fruit tea is served in a pot. The variety changes depending on the season. The taste of the galette is quite ordinary. I don't feel any special effort. I visited twice because it's nearby, but overall, I can't say that the staff's response is good (laughs). I don't know why it's always crowded (laughs). It might be good for those who like miscellaneous goods. Maybe it's popular among young women? The atmosphere of the store seems to be similar to those in Jiyugaoka, Nakameguro, or Daikanyama. The interior of the store, being a weekday afternoon, seemed to have many young women and mature ladies. Since there is a parking lot in front of the store, you don't have to worry about coming by car. Across from Potter's, there is a coffee shop called Kouda-ya Coffee. For adults, Kouda-ya Coffee might be better.

I stopped by Tanita Shokudo on my way back. The first floor sells miscellaneous goods only, while the second floor offers fabrics & miscellaneous goods with a cafe. It's a stylish space. It was quite crowded, probably because it was during the sale period, and the cafe was full. Since it's connected, it's enjoyable to browse through the miscellaneous goods while waiting for a table at the cafe. I thought the galettes might be recommended here, but since I was already full from Tanita Shokudo, I ordered a cafe au lait. Unfortunately, the cup for the cafe au lait was chipped, which was a bit dangerous near the drinking area. However, I didn't want to bother asking for a replacement due to the full house. Nevertheless, I wish they would check the condition of the cups in a food establishment. Overall, the atmosphere was nice but it was disappointing!

I went to BBB, POTTERSCAFE in Yakuin, Chuo-ku to try the pancakes. They serve pancakes made by Yuriko Yamamoto from the confectionery and cooking research institute. I had the sour cream pancakes, which were delicious! They were served with chunky blueberry jam. The lightly sweetened whipped cream was also tasty.
