I made a reservation, so I was escorted to a private room. I ordered the Phoenix course, which is perfect for those who want to enjoy plenty of crab. The course included appetizers, crab sashimi, tempura, followed by crab hot pot, and for dessert, a choice of green tea ice cream or fruits. As an extra order, I tried the unique crab sake from Kanidoraku. The flavor of the crab was amazing and incredibly delicious. I highly recommend it. The appetizers included crab miso, which was served cold. I decided to warm up the crab miso and dip it in the warm vegetables, creating a kind of "bagna cauda" style dish. I also ordered additional cold crab miso, added it to the warm miso, and heated it up. It was incredibly delicious. The leftover crab miso was added to the porridge, adding richness and making it even more delicious.

I went to Kani Doraku Dotonbori Higashi store for an early White Day celebration. Due to the pandemic, it wasn't too crowded. We ordered a course meal and a bottle of beer in a private room. Soon, the crab vinegar arrived and we enjoyed dipping the crab meat in it while sipping on beer. Then, the sashimi was served. We continued to enjoy our meal with smiles on our faces. The hot pot arrived next. I was so eager to eat that I forgot to take a picture. We quickly cooked the tofu and vegetables, then savored the crab meat. After enjoying the tender crab meat, we had crab porridge, but unfortunately, we were too full to finish it all. Another delicious meal at Kani Doraku!

Lunch: Crab lunch set with crab vinegar-soaked yuba rolls salad, crab miso dressing, crab sashimi, crab shumai, crab gratin with club sauce, crab chirashi, crab tempura, crab sushi, miso soup, vanilla ice cream with matcha powder. I'm not a big fan of crab chirashi, but I want to try the crab tempura and crab sushi, so I chose this course. The crab vinegar-soaked meat is a bit small. The yuba roll salad is my first time trying it. It's pretty tasty. The crab shumai is also my first time trying it. It's juicy, flavorful, and delicious. I prefer ponzu sauce for hot pot, so it would be nice if there was a choice for crab chirashi. The broth for crab sukiyaki is indeed rich in flavor. The miso soup has the same broth as the crab sukiyaki. Towards the end, all the dishes were served together, so the warm dishes ended up getting cold, which was disappointing. It was a late lunch in a private room, so we could relax, but compared to other restaurants in Dotonbori, the service this time felt a bit rushed.

This time, I had a crab kaiseki course at "Koume". The menu included crab vinegar, crab sashimi, crab chawanmushi, crab gratin, crab tempura, crab sushi, clear soup, and fruit. The sauce for today's chawanmushi was very salty. The crab sashimi and crab vinegar were delicious. The crab gratin had less crab flavor, but the Western-style dish was a nice change. The crab tempura was a bit too strong in flavor, overpowering the crab taste. There were two types of crab sushi, and I preferred the one with crab mayo in the nori roll. During the peak of the Go To Eat campaign, I made a reservation to indulge in my favorite crab at "Kani Doraku Dotonbori Higashi Store". I originally wanted to go to the main store near Ebisu Bridge, but it was fully booked so I ended up here. I wondered if there would be anyone doing a "solo crab feast" at 3 pm on a weekday, but when I arrived, I was seated in a spacious room with tables lined up on tatami mats. As I took off my shoes and entered, I noticed that each table had only one person. It was quite a sight! The tables overlooked Dotonbori, creating a charming atmosphere. I started with a bottle of beer and soon my reserved meal arrived. The "Lunch Crab Course 'Temari'" for ¥5,500 included crab vinegar, crab sashimi, crab chawanmushi, grilled crab, crab hot pot, crab tempura, crab sushi, and green tea ice cream. Each dish was delicious, especially the grilled crab which was my favorite. The crab hot pot was served in a unique paper pot, and the white soy sauce base complemented the crab well. The crab tempura was crispy and juicy, providing a nice contrast to the other lighter dishes. The crab sushi roll was a standout with the perfect amount of mayonnaise. The meal ended with green tea ice cream. Overall, the portion size was just right for me, and the crab dishes were expertly prepared. The restaurant had a nostalgic Showa-era charm, but the layout was a bit awkward at times. Despite that, I enjoyed my meal at Kani Doraku.

I hesitated between trying crab sashimi for the first time and boiling it, but I went with sashimi. It was my first time experiencing this texture. I can't even tell if it's delicious, but it must be. The crab sake was also a first for me. It was incredibly delicious. I could drink as many cups as I wanted. I think I had about five cups. New Year's Eve tradition, we went to "Kani Doraku Dotonbori Higashi Store" to eat crab. The popular "Kanimoto" main and branch stores, as well as the "Kani Doraku Honpo" were fully booked once again. We were grateful to be able to dine at the Dotonbori Higashi store this time. The reservation situation was much easier compared to the previous two years. Even walk-in customers had seats available on the day. Our family, which usually consists of 11 people, was down to 7 due to influenza and a type of cold virus. We had the Wakatake course for ¥6,600 and the children had the crab chawanmushi for ¥770. The hall was filled with inbound customers, and the course included crab vinegar, crab sashimi, crab chawanmushi, grilled crab, crab tempura, crab sushi, soup, and fruits. The crab from Russia or the Northern Territories was delicious as always. The difference in taste between the course and a la carte crab chawanmushi was like night and day. Everyone enjoyed drinks like shochu, beer, and highballs. We are grateful to have spent the past year without any major problems, and we ended the year with a delicious dinner. Thank you very much.

I went to the year-end party at the Doboku Higashi branch. There was a robot crab moving at the entrance, which got me excited. The menu was the Crab Kaiseki Suisho, priced at 6,500 yen for dishes only. Crab sashimi was delicious, with a creative display. Crab vinegar dish and crab steamed rice were satisfying, especially in the cold winter. The grilled crab was the main dish with a decent portion and great flavor. The crab tempura and crab sushi were nicely done. The miso soup and dessert were also good. With a group of about 30 people, it can be challenging to find a place for a year-end party, but this place offers consistently delicious food. I don't drink alcohol, so I finished early and enjoyed the second party leisurely. I hope to enjoy Shanghai crab to my heart's content before the end of the year. It was delicious.
