I tried the monthly special course at Kuro Roan, which is packed with the charm of the restaurant. The course included: - Appetizer: Ice-fish and root celery in seaweed dressing - Small soup: Oyster and udo in clear broth with plum, carrot, and fresh ginger - Sashimi: Grilled winter yellowtail, charcoal-grilled sea bream with pine bark, and sea cucumber - Charcoal-grilled dishes: Flatfish wrapped in green onions, grilled turnip with miso paste - Tempura: Cloud ear mushroom tempura - Oyster meat: Large and plump oyster - Meat dish: Black Wagyu beef roast with dashi - Clay pot rice: Salted salmon from Murakami, Niigata, and rice from Yonezawa with green onions - Dessert: Handmade bracken rice cake The tempura was crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, creating a deliciously addictive taste. The oyster meat was large and juicy. The roast beef was tender and delicious. The clay pot rice was filled with plenty of salmon. It was a luxurious and satisfying meal plan until dessert. The atmosphere of the restaurant was excellent, and the staff's service was great, allowing me to have a wonderful time.

I made a reservation for the lunch course and it was surprisingly good in terms of portion size and taste for only 2200 yen. I highly recommend going here for lunch! The interior is very calming and would be perfect for a date. I would love to go back again.

I heard that the menu will be changing to sushi and Japanese cuisine from the 19th of this month, so I went there before the change. It seems that the variety of hot pot rice will also decrease in the future. Hmm, that's disappointing. The restaurant was busier than usual and almost full. "Kouroan is a high-class Japanese restaurant where you can enjoy delicious dishes while experiencing the atmosphere of the chefs in the live kitchen. The exterior and interior have a calm atmosphere, but it was surprisingly noisy on a Friday night because it was fully booked. The popular Shin-Kou course, which includes 9 dishes including dessert, was all elegantly seasoned. There were many fish dishes, which was great. The lava-grilled steak was also delicious! The tai-kama meshi was served for the second time as ochazuke, allowing us to fully enjoy the flavor of the sea bream. It was really delicious and satisfying. I would like to try a different course next time. Thank you for the wonderful meal!"

We reserved the luxurious lunch set "Red Snapper and Seasonal Vegetable Dashi Hot Pot with Red Snapper Rice in a Pot" on this day. The meal started with a finger-sized "Salmon Roe and Avocado Tartare in a Mini Bun". Next, we enjoyed the delicious "Red Snapper and Seasonal Vegetable Golden Dashi Hot Pot". Moreover, the pricing is reasonable. The counter seats were already filling up early on weekdays. There were semi-private tables, private tables, and even complete private rooms available. The course meal was outstanding. The oyster appetizer in the beginning was so fresh and satisfying. The sashimi followed by the grilled cherry snapper with new onions and kujo green onions was a perfect match. The roast beef glistening with broth was also delicious. The meal ended with a clay pot rice dish and warabi mochi, a satisfying conclusion to the course. Watching the chefs work efficiently behind the counter while enjoying the food is great, and the table seating with solid partitions allows for a leisurely dining experience. I went to eat at the restaurant after seeing their Instagram and wanting to try their food. I ordered the "Gokumi Kaiseki" course, which included various dishes such as appetizers, steamed oysters, sashimi, charcoal-grilled dishes, tempura, and more. The course cost 8800 yen per person (drinks not included). I sat at the counter and could watch the chefs cook in front of me, which was a great experience. The food was plentiful and delicious, especially the oysters which were in season. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, with an open kitchen that added to the overall experience. It cost around 20,000 yen for two people. Overall, it was a very tasty meal.

It seems like a famous restaurant, but it was my first visit. The lunch menu looks very good. Although the course menu for dinner seemed attractive, this time I decided to go with a la carte. The staff kept recommending oysters, so I tried the oyster sampler with four varieties. They were all small, maybe it was too early in the season, but it was a bit of a mystery why they were pushing oysters so much. The appetizer had four types, but none of them stood out. The roast beef was delicious. The crab cream croquette had a nice touch with crab miso added to the sauce, enhancing the croquette. The seared meat sushi was average, with lean meat making it light and tasty. I was impressed by the variety of highball options. The Earl Grey tea highball was delicious! I chose the sea bream for the rice pot dish. The broth was well-seasoned, and there was no fishy smell. I would like to try their lunch menu next time!

I had the luxurious seasonal lunch which included: [Appetizer] Golden miso soup with amberjack shabu-shabu [Fried dish] Hiroshima oyster fry [Lava grill] Black beef lava grill [Clay pot dish] Red snapper clay pot rice with hittsumabushi style [Soup] Red snapper with sesame dressing and miso soup. The creamy oyster fry had a rich aroma of oysters that spread in my mouth and was delicious! The amberjack and golden miso soup were also excellent! Eating the amberjack and vegetables together and then drinking the soup was perfect. For the red snapper clay pot, I ate the first serving as it is and the second serving as hittsumabushi style! Both had different deliciousness, but personally, I preferred the hittsumabushi style! The red snapper with sesame dressing had various toppings and condiments, offering a delicious variety of flavors! The restaurant had a stylish atmosphere with a counter and tables, and there was a line before opening, so I recommend going early or making a reservation.

The weather was a bit gloomy on Wednesday at 6:00 pm, and it was also the first match for Japan in the World Cup. I made a reservation and went to the restaurant. By 7:00 pm, it seemed like the place was already full, showing its popularity. I was surprised by the cool entrance as I walked in. The interior of the restaurant was elegant with black, gray, wood, and ambient lighting, making it perfect for a date night. There were mostly couples inside. The open kitchen was spacious with 7-8 staff members working, and there were 3 attentive servers constantly checking on customers. The restaurant felt more upscale than a typical izakaya but less formal than a traditional Japanese restaurant. They really put effort into the service. In the back, I could see a fire burning for grilling bonito, adding to the visual appeal. The draft beer was served in a ceramic glass, creating a beautiful foam. I ordered an oyster tasting set which included oysters from Iwate, Tatsuno, Hokkaido, and Australia. It was fascinating to taste the different sizes and flavors of oysters. Personally, I enjoyed the Tatsuno oysters the most for their concentrated flavor. The Australian oysters were surprisingly salty, probably due to their storage conditions. The grilled and marinated oysters were also delicious. The roast beef soaked in broth and the light tempura were all prepared at a high level. Everything was delicious, but I have to mention that the salted fish roe here was the best I've ever had. Overall, I felt lucky to discover such a great restaurant before the end of the year!

In June, Kouroan Nanba in Osaka relocated and reopened with a new look. The atmosphere is calm, chic, and sophisticated, perfect for enjoying seasonal ingredients and drinks. I tried a variety of dishes a la carte, and everything was delicious and reasonably priced. I had a selection of sashimi, cod milt with ponzu sauce, thick shiitake mushrooms, miso-grilled mackerel, charcoal-grilled Wagyu beef, spring rolls with Fukahire, grilled oysters, grated beef tendon, ham cutlets, steamed matsutake mushrooms with sea bream, Wagyu beef and mushroom butter soy hot pot, sweet potato brulee, and hand-mixed bracken rice cakes. The seasonal oysters allowed for a comparison of flavors from different regions. The dessert, sweet potato brulee, was a highlight. With counter seating, tables, and private rooms, this restaurant is recommended for various occasions. Definitely worth a visit! ❤️

I ordered the "Seasonal Assorted Lunch Box" and the "Wagyu Hitsumabushi" luxurious lunch set. [Appetizer] The surprise combination of avocado and salmon roe in the appetizer was delightful! [Seasonal Assorted Lunch Box] (Sashimi) Today's sashimi was Thai fish. (Simmered) Included yuba, simmered beans, and simmered eggplant. (Tofu) Homemade tofu with Kinzanji mustard. (Vinegared dish) Salmon roe with grated radish. (Grilled dish) Thinly rolled omelette, grilled salmon with miso paste, chestnut gluten, simmered marujuku, and lotus root simmered in soy sauce. Everything was beautifully presented and delicious! [Wagyu Hitsumabushi] The main dish of the meal! When the lid was lifted, glossy Wagyu beef appeared! It was neatly arranged in rows so it was easy to portion with a spoon. The first serving was enjoyed as is to savor the flavor of the Wagyu beef. The second serving was with egg yolk and special sauce for a delicious egg topping. The combination of egg yolk and Wagyu beef was exceptional! For the third serving, I poured carefully prepared broth with bonito flakes and Hokkaido kelp over the rice for a tea-flavored finish. There are private rooms available, but watching the meticulous work at the open kitchen while dining is also enjoyable. It's a great place for a date or business entertainment. We dipped plenty of fresh vegetables in the delicious golden dashi broth in the small pot for our shabu-shabu experience. Every time we lifted the lid of the three-tiered bento box, we were excited to see the abundance of Wagyu beef and red snapper. We enjoyed it in the style of Hitsumabushi, eating it as is at first and then pouring plenty of broth over it for the second serving, which was incredibly delicious ☺️❤️ The luxurious lunch included melt-in-your-mouth beef sushi as well.﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏ The restaurant has a modern Japanese atmosphere with a large open kitchen that catches your eye. The counter seats surrounding the kitchen and the table seats were bustling with customers even during lunchtime. The lunch menu is reasonably priced, starting from around 2,000 yen, and there are various options available. In the evening, you can enjoy live charcoal grilling, straw grilling, and popular fresh oyster dishes. The head chef has 32 years of experience in Japanese cuisine and there is also a sake sommelier present to help you enjoy Japanese sake. The table seats have sofas, making it child-friendly. The dashi in the dishes was exceptionally delicious, and we couldn't help but finish the shabu-shabu broth and Hitsumabushi broth as well ❤️❤️ The hand-twisted warabi mochi dessert was the best we've ever had! Namba, Kouroan ✨ Located behind the Hotel Royal Classic in Namba, this traditional Japanese restaurant offers a lunch menu. The interior is a sophisticated space with black tones, featuring a central cooking area and table seating at the back. It's suitable for both solo diners and groups. The restaurant is operated by Operation Factory, known for its excellent design. I ordered the "Sea Bream and Wagyu Golden Broth Shabu-Shabu" & Three-tiered Lunch Course for 3520 yen (3960 yen on weekends). The menu includes a starter, shabu-shabu with sea bream and Wagyu, crab cream croquette, a three-tiered box with various dishes, miso soup with seaweed, and handmade bracken rice cake for dessert. The course starts with a unique appetizer of salmon roe and avocado sandwich. The shabu-shabu features sea bream and Wagyu dipped in a flavorful broth. The three-tiered box includes meat sushi, meat hittsumabushi, and grilled sea bream rice. Overall, the lunch course was delicious and satisfying. I visited during lunchtime, but I am curious about the evening atmosphere as well. The weekday lunch course is a great deal, so if you're interested, be sure to check it out! ✨
