This is a fugu and crab restaurant in Kita-Shinchi, Osaka. I really like fugu so I go there several times a year, it's always a treat for me. We started with the classic fugu skin in hot water, followed by tessa (fugu sashimi) with ponzu sauce and soy sauce, grilled fugu, and then ordered the grilled fugu fins with sake. The tessa was delicious, so we also ordered grilled fugu ovaries with salt. For the tetchiri, they first put in collagen, then added fugu meat and vegetables as it melted. We also ordered the porridge, which they made inside. Lastly, we had nut ice cream. They offer a special seven-spice mix for the ice cream, but it's fine without it too. Overall, it was good, but I would have preferred the tessa without the cabbage, just plain tessa would have been better. Thank you for the meal!

Course with all-you-can-drink option "Kyo" for 6500 yen including tax. Even though it doesn't come with fried chicken, I'm not really interested in it so it's totally fine! The sake is also all-you-can-drink (with a second cup being a continuation drink), and you can relax as if you're in a private room, so I will visit again! It's not too crowded at this time of year, but it's a reservation battle in the winter.

Had a mini year-end party at Genpin in Kitashinchi. Started with sashimi and of course, Dassai sake, and added some fried chicken skin! It was my first time trying it, and it was delicious! The main dish was a hot pot with additional ingredients, and we enjoyed it with tasty ponzu sauce. The meat was large and tender! The highlight was the luxurious porridge. We added shirako and crushed it into the pot, then added sake and let it simmer. The soup was rich in fugu flavor, and when we added rice and egg, it became a creamy, collagen-rich porridge. It was the perfect way to end the year with a luxurious feast. Thank you for the delicious meal!

For dinner out, I went to a restaurant recommended by a friend. It was cold outside and I was craving blowfish, so this seemed like the perfect choice. However, it turned out to be a place where you need to prepare for something in advance. We ordered the cheapest option, "Kuro", and added all-you-can-drink. We also decided to add grilled blowfish milt. While we waited, we were served appetizers and various dishes, all of which were delicious. The blowfish dishes like tessa and hot pot were tasty, and the grilled blowfish milt was fluffy and delicious. The simple egg porridge at the end was also excellent. We enjoyed several rounds of fin sake, and were surprised by the dessert. I chose vanilla ice cream, which came with a special shichimi pepper. Trying it out, it added a refreshing and tasty kick. It was a great experience. Overall, it felt like a chain restaurant, but it showcased the strength of Osaka cuisine.

Good evening! Once again, I was invited by a friend to A's meeting. We came to Genpin Fugu in Kitashinchi to eat blowfish. This was my first visit. The blowfish sashimi had a satisfying texture. The restaurant is located on the main street near Avanza, in a building basement. Genpin Fugu is a blowfish specialty restaurant. The blowfish skin in ponzu sauce was our starting dish. It was delicious! We also had tessa, which is a blowfish dish that is a specialty of Tokushima prefecture. The blowfish here is known for being delicious and the restaurant has a patented method for serving it in the best condition. We also enjoyed blowfish tempura and blowfish sushi. The blowfish grilled by the chef was amazing. The special sauce and garlic sauce were both delicious. The blowfish sushi at the end was a refreshing finish to the meal. I love blowfish because it is light and the flavors are great. The blowfish sashimi had a lot of flavor and was a direct way to enjoy the taste of blowfish. The blowfish tempura was also delicious. I want to eat only delicious food and gain weight! The blowfish grilled by the chef was my favorite. It was so tasty. I want to give you taurine! The special sauce and garlic sauce were both delicious. The blowfish sushi at the end was a refreshing finish to the meal. I love blowfish because it is light and the flavors are great. If I gain weight from eating this, it's worth it.

Well...last time I went to Volta, I stopped by for happy hour and then headed to the promised restaurant. Today, I visited Genpin Fugu, Osaka Kitashinchi branch. I have been here a few times before. This is a directly managed store, with a more mature atmosphere compared to other branches due to its location in Kitashinchi. The restaurant is located underground and has semi-private rooms, so you can enjoy your meal without worrying too much about other customers. It was T's birthday party, and while waiting for the food to arrive, we snacked on Hone Senbei. Oh wait, it's not Hone Senbei, it's actually Marugoto Hire Senbei (I looked it up). It's a Senbei made by marinating the fins of a tiger puffer fish in a special sauce and grilling it. It's not fried, which is nice. It's crispy and goes well with sake. Recently, for some reason, my drink photos keep disappearing. I asked my companions and the queue, and they said, "You took them before getting drunk, and we even did a toast." Where did they go? Alcohol photos (´;▽;`) Anyway, this is a serving for one person! There's plenty, so enjoy it ❤️ I'm not a fan of puffer fish skin... Puffer fish sushi. The balance between the vinegar rice and the puffer fish is good, so you can eat it in one bite. I'm hungry, so it's nice that it comes relatively early rather than at the end. Puffer fish Karaage. I prefer grilled puffer fish and Karaage over hot pot. Grilled is the best for me. Sprinkle some lemon juice on the crispy fried meat... It's marinated in a special sauce, so it goes perfectly with the flavor of the puffer fish. Original powder is used for frying, and it's hot and delicious. Main dish... From this point on, I switched from highball to shochu, but I don't have a single photo. Maybe my ancestors are telling me not to drink anymore and deleting them... Today I had a long-awaited date with the beautiful opera singer K-chan(•ө•)♡ We have been talking on the phone a lot, but it's been a while since we met in person, so I'm really happy(•ө•)♡ Gentle playboy Mr. A invited us to eat blowfish at Genpin Fugu in Shinchi.. We started with the blowfish sashimi.. Each plate is individual, which is nice.. And just the right amount.. It's light and delicious\(^o^)/ I wonder if this is zero calories! No sense of guilt at all! I don't like the skin.. I prefer the crunchy texture, so maybe that's why.. I don't like fish skin in general, so it might be a visual and emotional thing.. Blowfish tempura.. Crispy and nicely browned.. Juicy inside and addictive.. Even though it's tempura, I don't feel like I'm gaining weight\(^o^)/ Blowfish is a dieter's friend! I was really hungry, so I was happy to have sushi.. Especially in a course meal, I always want to eat the main dish while I'm still hungry.. The rice isn't too big, so it's well-balanced and delicious\(^o^)/ Whenever I come here, Mr. A always recommends the NO6 sake from Shinsei Sake Brewery.. I don't like sake, but this one is easy to drink.. I like the bottle too.. Oh.. Here comes the beautiful salted blowfish roe.. So delicious.. Yum yum.. Just as I was enjoying the blowfish roe, the hot pot arrived.. I was so hungry that I forgot to take a picture.. And as I was saying that, the additional grilled blowfish roe arrived.. If I gain weight from blowfish roe, so be it.. Because it's delicious\(^o^)/ Oh.. Priririlin(•ө•)♡ We also had Kagoshima black beef.. Shabu-shabu(•ө•)♡ There were so many beautiful women that day! We ordered the "Ootorafugu Yaki Course" for 7,500 yen (excluding tax) which included: - Appetizers - Fugu sashimi - Fried fugu - Grilled fugu - Fugu porridge - Dessert Since it was summer, we opted for a simple course instead of a hot pot. The fugu sashimi was served with plenty of scallions and a citrus-based sauce, providing a refreshing and spicy kick. The fried fugu was light and crispy, with a perfect balance of saltiness and sweetness. The grilled fugu was served with a choice of four different sauces to grill at the table, giving it a barbecue-like experience. The "Salt Garlic" sauce was particularly addictive. Lastly, we had the option of fugu porridge or fugu tea rice. Both dishes were flavorful and comforting, with a rich broth. Overall, the experience at "Genpin Fugu" was unique and enjoyable. I was invited to a acquaintance's dinner party on this day. The restaurant was a blowfish cuisine specialty store called Genpin Kitashinchi Store in Kamidori. It is located near Avanza, in the basement of a building. Although I had heard of Genpin Fugu before, it was my first visit. The restaurant was reserved for our party. We started with the famous blowfish sashimi. It may look small, but the thick blowfish sashimi on top of the Chinese cabbage, with plenty of crispy green onions and a special sauce that was spicy and light, was delicious. This portion is for one person. They do not use any chemical seasonings or additives, and their original brewed soy sauce mixed with Sudachi and Yuzu juice from Tokushima in a perfect balance creates a Ponzu sauce. The restaurant has a sophisticated ambiance with lattice partitions, creating a spacious and elegant atmosphere. The blowfish tempura was crispy and juicy, fried with the restaurant's special tempura flour. It was delicious. I prefer grilled blowfish and tempura over sashimi, so I was happy! Highball was smooth and delicious. They have a patented method for their "Grilled Fins" sake, which I tried a sip of since I am not a fan of sake. It had a nice aroma, but I still prefer cold drinks over warm sake. A paper pot was served. Fugu hot pot in the middle of summer? (Visited in early August) But it turned out to be a special course with specially selected Kagoshima black beef shabu-shabu. We quickly dipped the beef in hot water and dipped it in sesame sauce. It was delicious. Grilled blowfish was marinated in a miso soy sauce and then grilled. They only use high-quality tiger blowfish, and the texture and grilling were excellent. The second round of selected Kagoshima black beef shabu-shabu was also delicious. Although it looked thin, each slice was large, so it was filling. My weak stomach cannot handle A5 rank beef, so I appreciated my acquaintance for preparing the shabu-shabu for everyone. My dog Saku patiently waited at the table. The second round of grilled blowfish! You can choose from four flavors: salt, garlic, sweet and sour, and miso soy sauce. I chose the garlic salt sauce. It had a unique flavor that was addictive. I was worried about the strong garlic, but the flavor complemented the thick and elegant white meat well. The sake recommended by my acquaintance was a staple fresh sake from Shinsei Sake Brewery. It is brewed to express the charm of yeast No. 6 directly. Even for someone like me who doesn't like sake, it was easy to drink. I'm in trouble. The decision has been made. We finished with a gentle blowfish porridge. It was delicious when I added the special Ponzu sauce. I was very satisfied. And the landlady was beautiful. I will definitely come back! Despite feeling unwell on the day of the gathering, the evening finally arrived, and the group made their way to the restaurant. The atmosphere inside was elegant and sophisticated, with a typical Japanese restaurant ambiance. The seating arrangement was a bit odd, with the group split between two tables, but they made the best of it. The course menu included various dishes featuring pike conger eel, which were light and refreshing, perfect for the lingering summer heat. Despite feeling under the weather, the dishes were enjoyable, especially the pike conger eel hot pot, which was both visually stunning and delicious. The meal ended with somen noodles in a flavorful broth, and the group left feeling satisfied. The evening concluded without a visit to a second establishment, which added to the overall pleasant experience.

For those hesitant due to their wallet, this is a highly recommended restaurant for fugu dishes in the 10,000 yen range! I've been coming here every few months since my student days, almost 20 years now. I recommend the fugu sashimi over the blowfish cutlet, and the blowfish skin tempura is a hidden gem! The porridge at the end is absolutely delicious!
