Hello! This is Ramen Walking. Today, I visited Chinatown Ramen Ibuki in Tenjinbashi Rokuchome and tried their "Cold Iriko Soba". It has been a year since I started food walking, and I realize that there are so many places I want to try that it's hard to revisit the same place. I remembered missing out on a ramen I wanted to try last year, so when I saw a review from someone I follow mentioning it, I rushed to visit before it ends for the season. I arrived at 6:50 pm with 2 customers already inside. I checked the menu on the signboard outside and went in to order. I ordered the Cold Iriko Soba for 900 yen. The soup is made with Iriko from Ibuki Island, known for its use in Kagawa udon broth. The soup has a strong Iriko flavor without any bitterness, simply delicious! The noodles are thin and flat, with a chewy texture that goes well with the cold soup. They remain firm and do not get soggy even after some time, maintaining their quality till the end. The toppings include sliced chashu, menma, seaweed, and green onions. The chashu is thinly sliced, and the seaweed complements the seafood broth nicely. Despite the overall lightness of the dish, the soup and noodles are outstanding, making the toppings a perfect accent. What's impressive is that all the ingredients are evenly chilled, especially the noodles which were cooked but still cold. I finished every last bit of it, including the soup. If you haven't tried it yet, I recommend visiting before it ends around the end of September or early October. Thank you, Chinatown Ramen Ibuki, for the delicious meal! Today's step count: 11,328 steps. Calories burned: 441 kcal.

I tried the "Chilled Iriko Soba" for 900 yen. It's a flavorful Iriko soup without any animal ingredients. Even though it's served cold, the aroma and taste really come through. The homemade noodles, cut to a sharp edge at 16th blade, are delicious. Perfect!

Located in the bustling area of Tenjinbashi, Ibuki is a hidden gem worth visiting.
🍜 [Irikosoba]
[Noodles] Medium thick straight noodles
[Toppings] Pork cha-shu (2 slices), chopped green onions, menma, wakame
[Soup] Iriko broth
[Preparation time] 8 minutes
The soup, flavored with iriko, was delicious. The noodles were chewy and the cha-shu was tender and flavorful. The menma had a taste similar to pickled radish, which I enjoyed. Overall, it was a light and tasty dish.
🍜 [Reisudachi Tsukesoba]
[Noodles] Medium thick straight noodles
[Toppings] Wakame
[Dipping sauce] Reisudachi iriko
[Preparation time] 11 minutes
The dipping sauce had a prominent sour taste from the reisudachi, overshadowing the iriko compared to the Irikosoba. The noodles, served cold, had a good texture and paired well with the sliced reisudachi. It was a simple yet delicious dish.
Prices:
Irikosoba 780 yen
Reisudachi Tsukesoba 900 yen

I visited a ramen shop that I had bookmarked for a while, and this time I ordered the dried young sardine soba in a large serving. The soup had a clear broth made from dried young sardines with animal fat floating on top to add richness. However, overall the soup was very light and the flavor was subtle. It reminded me more of the famous yellow soba from Kakogawa or Himeji rather than traditional ramen. In the coastal areas of the Seto Inland Sea, it is common to use dried young sardines as a base for noodle soups, often adding kombu and lard, similar to the broth used in udon shops in western Japan. When served with Chinese noodles, it creates a unique flavor. The chashu was well-seasoned and cooked at a low temperature, making it incredibly delicious. I would love to have it served on a chashu rice bowl!

Well, it's Saturday. In the afternoon, I went to the Tenjinbashi Rokuchome area for the first time in a while. My main purpose was to finally try the "hiyashi ramen" that I haven't had this season. Let's go to Chukasoba Ibuki and try their classic summer limited menu♪... Even though it's been 7 years and 4 months since I last came here (≧▽≦) I arrived 15 minutes before opening time. Two people were already lined up at the storefront, so I followed suit. As soon as they opened, I went to the counter seats at the back. The relatively small shop was run by the owner alone. I ordered the "hiyashi iriko soba/900 yen" with toppings of "chashu/+200 yen" and "flavored egg/+100 yen". Truly, a summer tradition of a top 100 ramen shop. Out of the 6 people in the shop, 5 ordered the "hiyashi iriko soba" and 1 ordered the "sudachi tsuke soba". The "hiyashi iriko soba" that was served shortly after was colorful with luxurious toppings. When I took a sip of the cold soup, the delicate flavor of the iriko broth was delicious. Oh, this is really tasty (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و The noodles were firm and had an excellent texture and throat feel. The additional chashu and flavored egg were also very delicious. Be careful, as adding squeezed sudachi for flavor change may slightly blur the flavor of the iriko. It's recommended to change the flavor at the very end♪ It's been a while since I visited a top-notch ramen shop, but I was very satisfied with the experience. I don't usually pay much attention to the status or popularity of a restaurant, but it's good to go once in a while (laughs).

I revisited this ramen restaurant "Chuka soba Ibuki" after about 1 year and 2 months, located about a 3-4 minute walk from the Tenjinbashi Rokuchome subway station. It was a Saturday and I arrived a little after 12 pm, but there was no line outside and I was able to enter smoothly. There were no customers inside initially, but it gradually filled up with about 9 customers in total. I ordered the summer limited cold Illico soba with an additional seasoned egg. The cold Illico broth was as delicious as ever, with a refreshing taste and chewy thin noodles that went perfectly together. The toppings included thinly sliced chashu, menma, naruto seaweed, green onions, and sudachi, creating a well-balanced bowl. The seasoned egg I added was perfectly runny and incredibly tasty. I finished every drop of the soup, which shows how much I enjoyed it. Overall, the cold Illico broth was so delicious that it's a perfect dish for the hot summer days. I've only tried the cold Illico soba at this restaurant, so I definitely want to come back and try other menu items next time. If I have the chance, I will definitely visit again!

This time, I went to "Chuka Soba Ibuki"! I went for lunch and was able to get in without waiting in line. I ordered the Illico Soba (780 yen) with extra noodles (100 yen). The seaweed and bamboo shoots were delicious, but the best part was the chashu! The noodles were chewy and disappeared in an instant! Thank you for the meal!

I visited "Chuka soba Ibuki" located about a 5-minute walk from JR Temma Station. This time, I had the "Hiyashi Irigo Soba" and "Chashu Don". The soup was clear and light, but the flavor of the iriko was strong and delicious. The noodles were thin and flat, with a good texture. The chashu was soft and tasty, and the wakame matched well with the soup. The Chashu Don was also delicious, with tender chashu and a tasty sauce. It was a delicious bowl that was perfect for the hot weather. Thank you for the meal!

I tried the "Chilled Iriko Soba" from Chinatown Soba Ibuki, a popular summer menu by Ibuki-san. It was made with fresh iriko which gave it a fragrant and flavorful taste. The homemade noodles were perfectly firm and delicious. It was a perfect dish.

When in Osaka on a business trip and feeling indecisive about ramen, I always end up at Tenroku (Tenjinbashi-suji Rokuchome)! There are many famous ramen shops here, so for the second stop, I decided on Chinatown Ramen Ibuki! Located suddenly in the shopping street, their Katsuobushi Ramen for ¥780 has a soup that spreads throughout your mouth with the flavor of bonito. The owner's careful work is evident in the gentle richness of the soup. The noodles are a rare medium-thick straight flat noodle, with a gentle texture similar to udon. It was a noodle I had never tried before, with a very pleasant slurping feel, almost like udon. They are understaffed, but there is a strong sense of Osaka's warmth, with many regular customers (except for myself, everyone else seemed to be regulars). The attentive customer service, cleanliness of the store, and kind ramen make it a wonderful ramen shop. The owner lamented about the high price and difficulty in obtaining katsuobushi due to poor fishing.

Summer Cold Noodle Series ❺ One dish I always make sure to eat every summer is the cold Illico soba from "Ibuki"! Every year, I always end up going right before the cold noodle season ends because I can't go during the summer. This year, I visited in July to make sure I didn't miss out, but I mistakenly went on a Thursday, which was their regular holiday, so they were closed. Therefore, I made a revenge visit at the end of August. The Cold Illico Soba (900 yen) that was served was topped with plenty of thinly sliced chashu and wakame, giving it a refreshing appearance. The soup was rich in Illico flavor, creamy yet not too overpowering, with a refreshing taste. The noodles were medium-thick flat noodles with a slight wave. The cold noodles had a firm texture and a great throat sensation. The toppings included thinly sliced chashu, menma, green onions, and Wakame from Naruto. The flavor of the sudachi was excellent, and the cold soup was so delicious that I couldn't help but drink it all at once. The price has gone up by 20 yen from last year, but for 1000 yen, the happiness of getting change back after enjoying the cold Illico soba is worth it. I'm glad I was able to eat it again this year!

There was no wait for the visit at 20:45 on Saturday. I ordered the Cold Illico Soba for 900 yen, which many customers had ordered when I came before. The soup was exquisite, with the flavor of Illico piercing through the nose, a gentle taste with a lingering umami aftertaste. The homemade noodles were medium-thick and had a chewy texture with a firm bite. They had a scent and texture that complemented the light soup. I also tried the Chashu Don for 280 yen. #Ramen #Chukasoba #Illico #Cold #Tenjinbashisuji Rokuchome #OsakaCityKitaWard #Osaka

Chuka soba Ibuki cold anchovy soba ¥1,000. Made with 100% "Seto Kirara wheat" produced in-house, the flat and thick noodles with a sharp edge are great for slurping. This was my first time trying the new season's Ibuki anchovies, and they were delicious. ✨perfect✨

I arrived at the restaurant a little after 8:30 PM! The atmosphere inside was lively, with people having dinner and others finishing their drinks. We had to wait for just one group, and then we were seated! I was torn between choosing a summer limited menu item, but I ended up going with the classic Chinese ramen, which was light and really delicious! The yuzu shichimi for flavor variation was irresistible. I'll try a different menu item next time!

Osaka Prefecture - Tenjinbashi-suji 6-chome, Chinatown Ramen Ibuki "Iriko Ramen (780yen)" 127th bowl (2023) Today is a fireworks display. At Yokohama Stadium, a home run by Oyama was launched. Today, I will introduce a ramen that is as elegant as Oyama. Chinatown Ramen Ibuki in Tenjinbashi-suji 6-chome is a shop that serves soy sauce ramen with a strong flavor of dried baby sardines. It is located past Strikeken and Rakuji Shrine. I ordered the "Iriko Ramen (780yen)" from the menu. Shortly after ordering, the bowl was served, with a very calming visual. When you take a sip of the soup, you will be embraced by its comforting taste. The gentle flavor seeps into your taste buds, masking any emotions you may have. It doesn't have any distinctive features, but that is a genuine compliment. It's not overly strong with dried baby sardines, making it enjoyable for everyone. In other words, this serene ramen is like everyone's mother. Slurping the noodles, savoring the flavor of the rare chashu, and finishing the soup. After paying the bill and leaving the shop, I felt a sense of melancholy as I glanced back at the several groups waiting in line. I will confide my heartbreak story in this ramen.

I look forward to taking long walks every week. Today, I decided to walk to the Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street. I was thinking of having lunch in Nakazakicho or Tenroku. I searched for a ramen shop around Nakazakicho and found this place. It's a reliable top 100 shop! I thought there would be a long line, but luckily I could enter without waiting. I ordered the cold iriko soba as it was listed at the entrance. The restaurant mainly had couples or solo male customers, and the atmosphere was quiet. The owner seemed to be managing the place alone, with only one staff member. The cold iriko soba was delicious. I was surprised by the strong iriko soup flavor despite it being cold. The noodles had a nice texture. I plan to come back next time to try the regular hot iriko soba. A restaurant worth revisiting. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I visited the famous ramen shop Ibuki in the Nakazaki shopping street for the first time. I ordered the warm Illico soba for 780 yen instead of the cold one. The ramen that arrived looked very elegant, and the soup was also very refined and gentle in taste. Before I knew it, I had finished every last drop and bite. It was truly delicious.

The rainy season has ended and it was another hot day today. I rarely eat out for dinner because I find it too much trouble to cook after coming home, but today I chose the Chinese soba at Tengoku called Ibuki. I ordered the kakesoba (made with special thin noodles) for 750 yen, and a separate dish for toppings (menma, wakame, chashu) for 100 yen. They also had chilled Iriko soba today, but the noodles were medium thickness, so I prefer the thin noodles. So, I had the kakesoba that I enjoyed last time. The noodles are fantastic. The soup is light and made with raw soy sauce. I quickly added the toppings and finished the meal in no time. The wait time is a bit long because they are short-staffed, but I don't mind at all as time seems to pass slowly in this restaurant. I enjoyed my meal today as well. Thank you for the delicious food.

Chilled Dashi Tsukemen with Extra Noodles - ¥1,000
This dish features homemade noodles made from freshly harvested Kirara wheat, milled into new wheat flour and cut into thick, flat noodles with a 16-blade knife. The noodles are finished with a refreshing splash of cold water, creating a unique and flavorful experience. Why not try these homemade noodles at least once? Next time, I look forward to trying the "Chilled Iriko Tsukemen" made with fresh Iriko.✨perfect✨

It's hot again this year. I know! Let's go eat some chilled Illico soba! The soup is amazingly delicious. The seaweed goes really well with it. The price has gone up, but they started offering free extra-large portions. So, since I always get the extra-large, it's basically like there was no price increase. I'll definitely come back before summer ends. #Chuka soba Ibuki #Chilled Illico soba #Tenroku gourmet #Temma gourmet #Ramen #Limited noodles #ramen #noodle #noodles #Noodlestagram #Noodle activity #Ramen club #Osaka ramen
