I didn't take separate photos and the potatoes in the foreground are from a different store. I had never tried doten before becoming an adult, but I've been eating it occasionally recently, and this one was really delicious! The tofu and daikon were great too! The meat was also very tasty with no unpleasant smell.

To the restaurant "Sora" in Naniwa Yokocho at Tempozan Market in Minato Ward, Osaka City. Naniwa Yokocho didn't seem to have many tourists, but personally, I found the prices and menu to be attractive overall. While walking through Naniwa Yokocho, I came across a pot simmering with what looked like delicious motsu (offal), so I impulsively ordered the doteyaki (with daikon). It was really delicious!

There is a doteyaki shop in Naniwa Kuishinbo Yokocho that sells for 500 yen. The taste may be too sweet for some, but it could be a regional preference. Overall, it's a decent option for tourists visiting Osaka, especially after a trip to the Osaka Aquarium.

In the afternoon of September 27, 2020 (Sunday), after visiting the Kaiyukan Aquarium, we had lunch. There are various shops in the alley, so we bought some food from a specialty shop that sells Doteyaki and enjoyed it on a bench outside. Doteyaki is a dish with a strong miso flavor, containing beef tendons, pork offal, konjac, and other ingredients. It goes well with alcohol, and the tofu was also satisfying. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Next to the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan, there is a shop in Kuishinbo Yokocho that sells doteyaki. I ordered the doteyaki for 500 yen. In Kuishinbo Yokocho, some shops display prices including tax while others do not. The doteyaki I ordered had a choice of half chicken and half motsu or all motsu. I chose half and half. It was delicious, but I think it could use more miso flavor. I also felt like having some white rice, so I might consider ordering something like a motsu donburi next time. The service was provided by a nice lady. The cost was reasonable. This shop is conveniently located near the aquarium, and since the outdoor seating area is usually filled with tourists, it's a good option to dine at Kuishinbo Yokocho.

The B-grade gourmet Doteyaki in Osaka is something I occasionally crave. This place offers takeout only, with options like Doteyaki for 500 yen, Negi Doteyaki for 550 yen, Dotendon for 650 yen, Dotekare Don for 800 yen, Suji Curry for 600 yen, Dotama for 550 yen, etc. I ordered the standard Doteyaki for 500 yen, which is made with beef tendon and konjac simmered in sweet white miso. It is delicious, with the beef tendon being soft and having a great chewy texture. However, this Doteyaki also includes chicken, tofu, and chikuwa, which I personally feel is a bit off. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

There is a gourmet street called "Naniwa Kuishinbo Yokocho" located next to the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan and Tempozan Market Place. It recreates the atmosphere of the old Osaka downtown, making it a fun spot to walk around. While strolling through "Naniwa Kuishinbo Yokocho," you may suddenly come across a shop called "Sora." Surprisingly, it is a takeout-only shop specializing in "doteyaki," a traditional Osaka dish! You can enjoy doteyaki here without having to enter a pub, with a fast food-like experience. A plate of doteyaki costs 500 yen, while the green onion-topped "negi doteyaki" costs 550 yen. There is a refrigerator next to the shop where you can choose your favorite alcohol or soft drink to go along with your order. The shop counter has the scent of simmering doteyaki, creating a delicious aroma. The doteyaki contains beef tendons, konjac, bamboo shoots, and tofu. The tender meat with the smooth white miso sauce is a perfect combination. The rich flavor pairs well with beer! The portion is probably larger than what you would get at a pub, so it's satisfying, but towards the end, the richness can be overwhelming. I highly recommend this shop to tourists visiting the Kaiyukan. It's a great place to enjoy delicious Osaka-style doteyaki in a casual and easy manner. The service from the lady running the shop is also very Osaka-like, adding to the enjoyable experience.

The beef tendon skewers here were delicious, and I used to take them home every time I visited. However, when I went there recently, they had been replaced with chicken (including giblets). Maybe it's because of the increase in foreign customers at Ichigen? I was looking forward to the tender, simmered beef tendons, but it had completely changed to something else. If it had been chicken giblets from the beginning, maybe I would have been okay with it. I wonder when they made this change? I had been looking forward to the unchanged taste of the beef tendon skewers for years, so I was disappointed.

This is a review of a shop called "Dodenyaki" located in the "Naniwa Kuishinbo Yokocho" at Tempozan Market Place. The shop is set up like a food stall and you can smell the delicious aroma of simmering beef tendons right in front of you. Despite being full, I couldn't resist ordering the "Dodendon Negi Noses" (700 yen). When I visited, there was an elderly lady managing the shop, handling both customer service and cooking. She had a lovely smile and seemed very kind. I assumed she had been running the shop for many years, but from other reviews, it seems that different people take turns cooking. Interestingly, the taste can vary depending on who is cooking. The Dodenyaki I had was tender beef tendons simmered to perfection, with tofu soaked in the flavorful broth. However, the seasoning was relatively light, almost making me question if it was really miso flavor. When eaten with rice, it felt a bit bland. The ingredients were good, so I thought it would have been better as Doden Curry or ordered as a single item. Nevertheless, based on reviews, there are days when the seasoning is sweeter and richer, so it seems that the taste can be influenced by the cook. While reviews may not always be reliable, I hope this review can be somewhat helpful.

Oh no...!! The beef tendon is gone... I used to look forward to buying it every time I came here, thinking it was the same thing for the same price, but now it's just a mishmash of chicken and pork intestines without the beef tendon. Honestly, the deliciousness is completely different... I loved the gelatinous, tender beef tendon that melted in your mouth... Maybe there are various reasons like cost, but did they target inbound customers and abandon repeat customers? It's really disappointing.

Before going to the aquarium, I wandered around the alley looking for lunch - searching for something Osaka-like. I noticed a line at an omurice restaurant, but the lively voices and delicious smell from this shop caught my attention. It's small and a bit chaotic, but they offer samples and are a fair shop. I'm from Nagoya, so when it comes to "dote," the standard is the thick red miso version. Therefore, I usually don't like other flavors, but I decided to give it a try. I ordered the "dote bowl" and it was delicious! The flavor was just right, not too light or too strong, and it went well with the rice. I was struggling to eat in a balanced way, haha. I actually prefer this over the local "dote." I want to try this flavoring at home from now on! My partner even said that this place is tastier than the omurice place across the street.

While strolling through the food stalls at Tenpozan Market Place, I caught a whiff of something delicious. Despite planning to go to a izakaya later, I couldn't resist the temptation. The stall was offering a free upgrade to a larger portion, so I ordered "doteyaki" and a canned beer. My colleague and I shared the doteyaki at a table in the food court, washing it down with the beer. The dish, cooked in a sweet and savory sauce with miso, was a perfect match for the beer. We thoroughly enjoyed this Osaka specialty!

In March 2017, for the second day in a row, I visited Tempozan again~♪ Just like the day before, I went to "Naniwa Kuishinbo Yokocho" once more. The previous day I had tried squid and takoyaki, but this day I started with "Dote Yaki" from "Sora"~ haha. The lovely lady at the shop offered me a sample, and when I tried it, I thought, "Wow, this is delicious~♪" It's not too sweet, cooked just right. I bought the Dote Yaki and enjoyed it in front of the shop. This might be my favorite Dote Yaki I've had recently! The tofu and green onions went perfectly with it, and it was very tasty~♪ Thank you for the meal~ Sora's Dote Yaki is a traditional local dish loved by the people of Osaka since the late Taisho period, and it helped liven up Osaka during the post-war confusion. It continues to be a beloved dish in Osaka. The carefully selected 100% domestic beef tendons are marinated in a secret miso sauce that has been passed down for over 20 years since the establishment, and then cooked in a pressure cooker with care and attention. Sora's Dote Yaki has a unique and exquisite deep flavor that cannot be imitated by other Dote Yaki.

Yesterday, I accompanied a friend to catch rare Pokémon at Tempozan, and unexpectedly, I ended up visiting Tempozan again for the second day in a row. While I achieved my goal of walking over 10,000 steps for my lower back pain improvement and enjoyed a day trip feeling visiting the Kaiyukan aquarium and enjoying Osaka's famous flour-based dishes, my friend's Pokémon hunting spree was cut short due to a lack of batteries, leaving them unsatisfied and having to return home early. So, we decided to visit Tempozan once again by midday, taking the subway. First, we wandered around Osaka Port Station and Kaiyukan to catch Pokémon. We then headed to the "Naniwa Kui-shinbo Yokocho" on the 2nd floor of Tempozan Market Place for some food exploration. Passing by the three-wheeled truck at the entrance, we greeted the police officer mascot and made our way to the "Kuishinbo Ebisu Statue" riding a baby shark, which tells a legendary story that I'll spare you from. We visited the "Sora" shop, famous for Osaka's specialty "Doteyaki." A cheerful lady offered us samples, and we ended up buying the "Negi Doteyaki" for 550 yen and a 350ml can of Asahi Super Dry for 300 yen. Doteyaki is a dish originating from Osaka, made by simmering beef tendons in miso and mirin for a long time. It is cooked in a cast-iron pot with a mound of miso in the center, where the ingredients are grilled and simmered in the melted miso. Yesterday, I refrained from alcohol due to my walking goal, but today, I enjoyed a canned beer while sitting on a nearby bench. The "Negi Doteyaki" had plenty of chopped green onions on top of the beef tendons and tofu, seasoned with shichimi pepper. The shop's Doteyaki is marinated in a secret miso sauce passed down for over 20 years, pressure-cooked to perfection. It was tender and full of flavor. I've had Doteyaki at many izakayas and kushikatsu restaurants in Osaka, but this shop's version might be the best. The tofu was also flavorful, making it a perfect match with beer. I occasionally make Doteyaki at home, but I can't quite replicate this taste. I got some hints today, so I'll try to challenge it soon. Let's move on to some flour-based dishes next! Enjoy your meal!

Osaka specialty "Dote-yaki". I don't remember if I've ever eaten it in my life, but if I don't remember, I wanted to try it again. This shop is located in Naniwa Kuishinbo Yokocho, next to the popular tourist spot Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan in Tempozan Market Place. I don't remember if there was a place to eat in at this shop, but the food purchased at Naniwa Kuishinbo Yokocho can be eaten at the food court in Tempozan Market Place itself, so I ate there. There are several types of Dote-yaki sold in disposable containers at this shop. This time, I bought the standard Dote-yaki. It cost 500 yen including tax. Actually, I wasn't planning to buy it at first, but while waiting for the takeout food to be ready outside the previous shop called Hokkyokusei, a friendly staff member approached me, and I ended up buying it. It's a small container, but it's packed with Dote-yaki, quite a lot to eat. Honestly, it's so generous that I almost got tired halfway through. It might be better if they sold half the amount for 300 yen (;^_^A Inside, there is plenty of finely chopped beef tendon-like meat. It's quite fatty, but it's been cooked until very tender. The seasoning is a sweet and rich miso flavor based on miso and mirin. It's quite delicious, but the flavor is quite strong, so it's hard to eat without rice or alcohol. Well, I'm satisfied that I could easily enjoy a famous Osaka dish. Thank you for the meal♪

A shop at Naniwa Kuishinbo Yokocho! A place for a quick bite before entering Osaka Aquarium! Osaka specialties are lined up, so try one dish at each shop! This is a shop for Doteyaki! The Doteyaki had soft simmered tendons and a quite sweet taste! A flavor that kids would enjoy! The portion size was decent and overall satisfying! You can eat inside the shop as well, but we ate at the nearby food court. There are many other shops besides Naniwa Kuishinbo Yokocho, so it might be a bit challenging to secure a seat! I haven't compared it with other shops, but I think it's a taste that would appeal to everyone. Thank you for the meal.

I used a 50 yen discount coupon for "doteyaki" at Hot Pepper. The restaurant was takeout only with no seating. The main menu items were: - Doteyaki 450 yen - Negidote 500 yen - Dote bowl 600 yen - Beef tendon curry bowl (limited to 30 servings per day) 300 yen I ordered the "doteyaki" using the coupon. The male staff member was very friendly and told me that they use domestic beef and used to be a butcher. He also mentioned that they provide extra toppings for coupon users. I moved to a table in the food court and tried the dish. The beef tendon was soaked in miso sauce, giving it a rich flavor. The beef tendon, being domestic beef, had a delicious umami flavor when chewed. The seasoning was strong, but I finished it quickly.
