A unique Indian curry restaurant located near Osaka Tenmangu Station and Minami-Morimachi Station in Osaka. They are known for serving authentic Indian curry, which I mistakenly thought was only spice curry. They are open for lunch as usual, but only offer takeout in the evening, which is why it gets crowded during lunch hours. It is a popular spot recommended in rankings and guidebooks, so there is often a line, especially on weekends. I had to wait outside with about 10 people this time, but I was able to get a table in about 30 minutes, so the turnover seems decent. They offer the option of curry combination, but it is limited to the daily curry and bean curry. The payment is made upfront. I originally planned to only have the curry combination, but I couldn't resist the tempting side dishes and additional curries displayed under the counter at the payment area. I ended up adding two side dishes and chicken curry. The chicken curry here is cooked just right - tender and juicy with a slight chewiness that enhances the flavor of the curry and meat. The bean curry is light and flavorful. The pickles are delicious, and the broccoli side dish is excellent. Overall, waiting in line was worth it. However, as I left the restaurant after finishing my meal, there was no line outside. It might depend on the timing.

Today's lunch was here. I tried the Hyakumeiten Curry series. I came to Minami-Morimachi for work, so I had lunch at a nearby Hyakumeiten. I ordered the value set curry. There were quite a few solo diners and new customers, making it a welcoming atmosphere for solo diners. Thank you for the meal.

Curry restaurant featured in the Michelin Guide, popular for its authentic Indian curry. There may be a short wait on weekdays, but you can get seated quickly. The atmosphere is casual like a local Indian eatery. The restaurant's name comes from the Hindu gods of prosperity, knowledge, and business, Ganesh. I ordered the special set for 1500 yen, which was a great deal. The mild Indian curry tasted delicious with Thai rice. You can choose toppings and different types of curry, like fish curry or chicken curry, which are rich and flavorful in a Japanese way. Thank you for the meal.

This is a restaurant where you can eat authentic spicy curry. Unfortunately, I arrived at a bad time and had to wait in line for about 30 minutes. I chose Indian rice over Japanese rice, following the authentic style. I'm not a fan of cilantro, so I chose to have it without. Today's special curry was shrimp curry with lots of juicy shrimp. I personally didn't like the Indian rice much, I thought I would like it since Thai rice is delicious, but it didn't work for me. The curry had a unique spice that some people may love or hate. It was quite filling and my stomach felt a bit uncomfortable towards the end. The lassi was delicious! Thank you for the meal.

Located in Minamisono-cho, this curry restaurant had a wait of about 4 groups already at around 11:15 on Saturday, but we were able to get in on the first try. You pay in advance, and when you order curry, you can also order side dishes, snacks, and drinks from the showcase. The cuisine seemed to be Indian, which I am not familiar with, but it piqued my interest. I ordered the "Aigake" for 1200 yen. It had lentil curry and spicy shrimp curry. The curry had a beautiful appearance, and the variety of side dishes made me look forward to it even before eating. The lentil curry was lighter than I expected, as I imagined it to be heavily spiced. The spicy shrimp curry had two large shrimp, which was very satisfying. As expected, it had a strong spiciness from the chili peppers, providing a good kick. Personally, I preferred the shrimp curry. It's easy to visit alone, and they offer a variety of side dishes and limited-time curries that make you want to come back again. It was delicious, but it didn't exceed my expectations of being a top curry restaurant, and in the competitive curry scene, I didn't feel the need to come back here for sure, so I give it a slightly lower rating.

[Accessibility] I visited around 7:30 PM on a weekday. There was no one inside the restaurant, but I saw a few customers for takeout.
[Taste] There are various types of curry and side dishes to choose from. It's the type of place where mixing everything together tastes delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I went to the 258th out of 100 curry restaurants in the "Tabelog 3.75 Curry Hyakumeiten" list. I arrived on a weekday afternoon and waited in line for a bit. I was able to enter the restaurant around 13:20 after waiting from 13:00. I ordered the daily special curry, which was Keema & Keema (mutton and pork).

I visited Osaka Tenmangu Shrine and stopped by a restaurant right in front of the main gate. The entrance had sliding doors with screens. You order and pay first before finding a seat, and I was able to get in right after they opened with plenty of seating options. I chose a seat by the window. I ordered the Kerala Chicken and Bean Curry set, which cost 1100 yen. The Kerala Chicken Curry of the day was made with tomatoes, coconut, and green chilies. The food was served promptly, and I mixed the two curries together before eating. The flavors were a perfect mix of spicy and creamy, with the coconut adding a nice touch. The spiciness level was just right for me, not overpowering the flavors. The atmosphere was calm and soothing, with a view outside the window. It seemed like many of the customers were regulars from the neighborhood. The staff was friendly and overall it was a great dining experience.

I visited a highly rated restaurant nearby. I had to wait in line, but was able to get in relatively smoothly. The spiciness was strong, so it might be a bit difficult for those who are not good with spicy food. The flavors of the spices were also well pronounced. The prices were reasonable and good. Thank you for the meal.

It's been a long time. 'Ganesh n' at Osaka Tenmangu Shrine. Thursday, May 25, 2023. It's been a super long time since August 20, 2020. 'Ganesh n', finally visited again. It's been so long that I couldn't decide on my order. Arrived at 12:32. No wait, only 1 seat left. Ordered. Seated. Curry arrived at 12:40. Chicken liver masala 300 yen, Masala egg 100 yen, Spicy green pepper chutney 50 yen, Rice extra large 100 yen, Total 1650 yen. I was torn between the special set, but ended up with the curry set. The main spicy chicken curry with large chunks of chicken and a gradually increasing spiciness was excellent. The lentils had a gentle spiciness, and the fluffy basmati rice was irresistible. The spicy green pepper chutney was stimulatingly hot, with a nice impact. As expected, it was an incredibly delicious spiced curry. Thank you for the meal. Next time, I'll go for the special set. #Ganeshn #OsakaTenmanguShrine

A curry restaurant near Osaka Temmangu Station. I visited around 12 pm on a weekday and had to wait for about 10 minutes. The interior is a bit small and not fancy, but it has a nice atmosphere of a simple Indian curry restaurant! Good restaurants have this kind of charm, right? This time, I ordered the "Aigake" set for 1100 yen, where you can choose between Japanese rice and Basmati rice. Of course, I chose Basmati rice! The curry included a yogurt-infused pork curry called "Dahi Pork" and a bean curry called "Dal." I love bean curry, and the refreshing sweetness of the beans is just delicious. The "Dahi Pork" also had a strong spice flavor, and when mixed with the "Dal," it created a flavorful Indian curry. It was easy to eat for Japanese people, and it seemed like they had adjusted the flavors well. A well-thought-out Indian curry specialty restaurant. If you want to try deep and authentic Indian curry, this is a good place. Thank you for the meal. It was delicious.

It's been a while since I had spice curry, and Ganesh-san from Osaka was the one who sparked my interest in it. Today, I had the Ai Gake Dahi Pork Bean Curry with toppings of sautéed komatsuna with cumin, masala egg, and my favorite, the super spicy green chili chutney. It's delicious - not too spicy, with a hint of the fragrance of green chilies. Both the curry and the side dishes are tasty, and I love the way you can choose toppings from the showcase. I've refueled with spices and I'm ready to tackle the rest of the afternoon. Thank you for the meal!

I visited this cozy little restaurant for lunch on a regular day. There is no parking lot, and the place has a small counter with 9 seats. When I searched for curry restaurants in Minamimorimachi on Google, this place stood out with the highest rating, so I decided to give it a try.
I ordered the "Aigake" (Indian rice) for 1,100 yen including tax. It came with butter chicken curry and bean curry served together, along with side dishes. The butter chicken curry had a perfect balance of umami, sweetness, and spiciness, showing me how delicious authentic Indian curry can be.
You can choose between Japanese rice or Indian rice (Basmati rice). According to the description, Basmati rice is a premium rice from India known for its long, slender grains and unique aroma. It pairs exceptionally well with curry, has fewer carbohydrates than Japanese rice, and is suitable for dieting.
If you come here, I recommend trying the Indian rice for a better experience. The meal was satisfying and delicious. Thank you for the meal, Ganesh! #Ganesh #MinamimorimachiCurry #MinamimorimachiLunch #MinamimorimachiGourmet

Today's pick is this restaurant located in Temmabashi. It's a bit of a walk from the end of Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street. It's Sunday at 1 pm, pouring rain, with one group waiting. There's no shelter outside, so it's a bit of a hassle. Inside the restaurant, there are only 9 seats and the turnover isn't that fast, so the wait can be long. Upon entering, you place your order and pay at the entrance, then take your seat. I ordered the mixed curry. You can choose between basmati rice and Japanese rice. The curry changes depending on the day, and on this day, it was a white curry made with scallops. The other option was a bean curry. Both curries have a strong and punchy spice flavor on their own. Mixing the two creates a delicious curry.

I ordered the "mixed curry" for 1200 yen. I visited the restaurant at noon on Saturday, which was expected to be very crowded. There were 5 customers ahead of me. The wait time was just under an hour. The good thing about the mixed curry is that even if one side is not to your liking, the other side might be a hit.

I arrived around 2:30 pm and was able to enter without waiting in line. It was my first time visiting, and the entrance was a bit hard to find, but I managed to locate it. I chose my curry, type of rice, and toppings. I selected a combination curry, basmati rice, and added an egg as a topping. I asked for less cilantro. The total came to 1,200 yen. The curry had a strong flavor, as evidenced by its selection as one of the top 100 curry shops. The curry paired well with the rice and other ingredients. However, I found both curries to be very spicy, but I enjoyed the meal despite that. If you're not a fan of spicy food, be cautious! But it was delicious overall!

Visited around 11:40 AM for lunch. There were about 6 groups waiting in line. Waited for about 30 minutes. The turnover rate is not bad, so it seems okay to wait a little. Payment is made in advance. Accepts PayPay and cash.
- Aigake (1200 yen): Pork curry with burnt onions and yogurt, bean curry. The yogurt flavor is subtle, and the meat is tender and delicious. The beans are easy to eat with a smooth texture. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant around 12 pm on Friday. The interior was not very spacious, so it was naturally full with a line forming outside. After waiting for about an hour, I was finally seated! Today, I decided to try the two kinds of mixed curry, Butter Chicken and Veggie Curry. After about 10 minutes of waiting at the table, the dishes were brought out. They were quite voluminous and looked delicious. I took a bite of the Butter Chicken first, and it was amazing! The flavor of the chicken, the sweetness unique to Butter Chicken, the acidity of the tomatoes, and the richness of the butter all blended perfectly, making it one of the best Butter Chicken dishes I've ever had. The Veggie Curry was also delicious, with a great balance of spices and the richness of the beans. The side dishes complemented the curry well, and before I knew it, I had finished everything in no time! It was a fantastic curry restaurant, truly living up to its reputation. Thank you for the wonderful meal!
