I hadn't seen an acquaintance for a long time and we decided to have a meal together. Since this person was not familiar with the geography of Osaka, we reluctantly made a reservation at Mino Yoshiki located inside Hankyu Department Store. I had a preconceived notion that it might be noisy because it was inside a department store. However, the meal and service completely exceeded my expectations. We ordered the appreciation kaiseki, which was priced at just over 8000 yen, so I didn't have high expectations for the quality. But both my guest and I were extremely satisfied with the meal. The main dish was a choice between sweetfish or fillet, and both were excellent. I couldn't believe we could have such a great meal inside a department store. I often see Mino Yoshiki's outlet in the basement food section as well. I would like to try their food if I have the chance.

I visited during lunchtime on a regular day. While other affordable restaurants in the same area had long lines, I was able to get in easily here because it was still early. When it comes to summers in Kansai, it's all about conger eel. I had conger eel shinjo, tempura, teriyaki, and rice, and they were all delicious. I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. The landlady's family owns a sake brewery on Awaji Island, so we were served a special aperitif.

The flavors are stable. This time, the menu is perfect. There is no sweet and disliked white miso soup, the flavorful taro is just right, the miso soup with a good broth, the crab cooked rice, the tender beef fillet, and the chewy black sugar warabi mochi were all delicious.

On the 13th floor of Hankyu Umeda Main Store is Kyokaiseki Minoyoshi. My father made a reservation for a betrothal ceremony, and we visited at the beginning of the year. Even three months in advance, all the private rooms for betrothal ceremonies were fully booked. Minoyoshi has been around since the Edo period, starting with serving river fish dishes by the Kamogawa River in Kyoto. I have tried their side dishes before, but this was my first time at the restaurant. The private room had a nice view with sunlight streaming in through the window, and they had prepared everything for the betrothal ceremony, creating a wonderful atmosphere. We ordered the Premium Special Kyoto Kaiseki "Treasure Ship" for ¥16,500, which included various dishes such as New Year's assorted appetizers, Kyoto-style white miso soup with sweet sea bream, blowfish sashimi, grilled black wagyu beef and grilled spiny lobster, and more. The signature sweet sea bream white miso soup at Minoyoshi was rich and flavorful, with a balance of sweetness from the sea bream. The blowfish sashimi and spiny lobster miso grilled dishes were also delicious. The abalone tempura was a first for me, and it was tender and served with a sophisticated liver sauce. The eel rice, made with domestic live eel, was a delightful surprise. The meal ended with a light fruit jelly and green tea, a rare treat for me. The festive tableware, delicious dishes, attentive service, and smooth flow of the event made for a wonderful time. I researched the restaurant before writing this review, and I was surprised to find that they don't advertise much. I wonder how my father found out about this place for the betrothal ceremony.

I asked for a refill of my tea at Jun Kaisui, but instead of a refill, they brought me a new pot of tea. It's not a big deal, but I guess some people at casual places like Minoyoshi may not be familiar with the traditional Japanese style of pot service. The menu included Pu-erh tea, Jun Kaisui tea, Natsume habucha, dried wolfberries, hibiscus, eel kaiseki, sesame tofu, assorted sashimi, hot pot, turtle soup, rice with eel, rice seasoning, miso soup, and today's dessert.

When I decided to eat casually on the 12th floor of Hankyu, the elevator that arrived first did not stop on the 12th floor, so I walked down the corridor and came across Minoyoshi. Originally, Minoyoshi was located in a joint store on the 12th floor with 4 other shops, but it seems to have moved separately to the space vacated after Tsuruya closed. It opened on April 20th. The group's Tempura Yoshii remains on the 12th floor. The closure of Hankyu was too excessive, so I noticed it late. Chinese tea, beautiful tea, assorted sashimi, and Kyoto kaiseki bento.

As a big fan of Minoya, I want to conquer all the shops, but surprisingly I have never been to this Umeda location. The white miso soup is just amazing. Is there any soup that can beat this? I become confident. Delicious. And the tempura and sake, and finally the meat to finish off, it's the best time. I will definitely go again.

Grilled matsutake mushrooms, mizuna salad, citrus-marinated sashimi, matsutake and remnants of conger eel, steamed in a pot, Japanese beef and mushroom sukiyaki, white rice, miso soup, pickles, today's dessert (grapes, jelly). The taste and aroma of matsutake were not present.
