The highlight of this restaurant is the "straw-grilled" menu. The smoky aroma is delicious! I ordered the straw-grilled asparagus for 499 yen this time, and even though I'm used to eating asparagus being from Hokkaido, the straw-grilling method brought out a new charm in the flavor. Unfortunately, I was already full by the third dish and couldn't eat much more. The appetizer was served with a shichirin (Japanese charcoal grill), where we grilled skate wing and toba (flying fish) over direct flame. It's recommended for those who enjoy grilling various foods. Strangely, the TV in the room showed a live broadcast of the grilling process, which was both mysterious and entertaining. It was fun to watch and think, "My dish is almost done grilling" (laughs). Additionally, this restaurant offers services like lending chargers, umbrellas, and even going to buy cigarettes upon request (I borrowed a charger). The staff were all very friendly! My husband couldn't read the word "straw" (laughs) as the menu is mostly in kanji, so he complained that he couldn't read it (laughs). Thank you for the meal!

I visited this restaurant for dinner during my stay in Obihiro. I chose this place because I wanted to eat sea urchin, but the "uni-kun" dish was mostly meat with very little sea urchin, which was disappointing. The appetizer was a style where you grill it yourself, but it was too tough to chew. The Genghis Khan dish, which is known for its straw-grilled style, didn't have the unique smoky flavor I was expecting. However, the butter foil-grilled leeks and shiitake mushrooms were delicious. The bill was a bit high for not drinking much, so I would say the cost performance was average.

It had been a while since I went out drinking in Obihiro, and every place was crowded. We managed to get into a restaurant where they also offered all-you-can-drink. They had a special where you could get 10 oysters for 50 yen. They offered steamed or grilled oysters for the same price, which was a great deal. We tried various dishes but didn't take many photos. Even though I came with someone from outside Hokkaido, we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience and felt like we were able to fully enjoy what Hokkaido has to offer. I had uni-katsu and straw-grilled chashu. The straw-grilled chashu was delicious, but I couldn't really taste the straw. I wish there was a bit more uni in the uni-katsu, but for 990 yen, I guess it's not too bad to expect more.

The menu that made me feel like I was in Hokkaido was great! I also thought the cost performance was good. The grilled firefly squid served as an appetizer was unique and delicious. In addition to that, there were oysters, sashimi, scallop miso soup, Hokkaido asparagus, various types of tsukune, and more! And on top of that, it was 399 yen for all-you-can-drink on that day! It was a memorable experience!

Today's fifth stop at the bar is at Tokachi Warayaki Robata Isshin. I don't remember much from the last time I came here because I got too drunk, but today I'm fine. The asparagus grill came in four whole pieces, although they were thin. The bonito tataki was very spicy with grated daikon. The all-you-can-drink option is set at a reasonable price, so the place was crowded.

The staff are friendly and provide excellent service. However, they have transitioned all orders to tablets, which can be inconvenient for middle-aged and elderly customers. The appetizers are tasty, but the menu is difficult to read and the details of the all-you-can-drink option are unclear. There is still room for improvement, but overall it was a good restaurant.

First time in Obihiro. After arriving at Obihiro from New Chitose Airport on the Tokachi Milky Liner, we headed to Meito Onsen by rental car. We cleansed ourselves in the open-air bath of the hidden hot spring proudly maintained by the "Japan Secret Hot Spring Preservation Society", and then headed to a night banquet in Obihiro. We arrived at "Isshin", a straw-fired hearth restaurant we had reserved on Tabelog, 20 minutes late, and were seated at a two-person table as the restaurant was almost full. We had reserved the "Spring Special Plan - Selected 14 dishes with all-you-can-drink course" with an upgrade coupon, and started with a toast with draft beer. Sashimi, edamame, live oysters, bonito tataki, pickles, beef steak, beef sukiyaki, thick-fried tofu, corn butter, and other dishes were lined up on the table. There was no time to leisurely take photos with my smartphone. When I tried to order another draft beer, I was told to order it online using a QR code. When I connected to the internet, I found dozens of drink options for the all-you-can-drink menu. Trying not to burn myself on the hot plate, I cooled my fingers with a chilled glass and quickly finished off the snacks on the table. I made a mistake with the Yubari melon shochu highball, which was too sweet, so I refreshed my palate with a cold sake Kubota, followed by a highball, shochu on the rocks, and then another draft beer, trying to make the most of the all-you-can-drink deal. Finally, I had dessert, and it turned out to be a feast of overeating and overdrinking. On the way back, I peeked at the Obihiro specialty "Kita no Yatai" but decided to pass and went back to the hotel for a deep sleep.

The recommended dish is the Char Siu Straw Grilled, it was delicious. The meat, seafood, and vegetables were all really tasty. Especially, you can feel the deliciousness of the vegetables. Ah, it feels like being in Hokkaido. A very satisfying dinner. The store was full of customers. With so many different dishes to try, it's no wonder it's popular. The fact that there is an all-you-can-drink option is also great. Thank you for the delicious meal.

23/04/07 Attended a workplace social gathering with 2 colleagues. Tonight's drinking party was decided on the spot. Our usual go-to place was fully booked (tears). Intrigued by the cheap all-you-can-drink deal, we ended up here. Each person had to place their order using their smartphone. Started with 3 glasses of draft beer before switching to local sake! When we checked the bill after 90 minutes, we found out that the local sake wasn't included in the all-you-can-drink deal (tears). It wasn't mentioned on the smartphone menu, but I saw it on the food review website. Yeah, that was my bad. The food was satisfying. Apologies for this memo-like review...

The restaurant offers oysters from Akkeshi at an amazing price of 50 yen each, with a maximum order of 10 per person. I ordered 10 baked oysters, which were of a decent size and very satisfying to eat. The uni topping was just okay in appearance, but if you want to enjoy Akkeshi oysters in Obihiro, this is the place to go. Thank you for the meal.

The straw-grilled bonito, tachipon, stingray fin, dried salmon, chicken karaage, pickled nagaimo, beer, and highball were all delicious. The chicken karaage had a well-seasoned flavor, and the tachipon was fresh and excellent. The atmosphere was bright and fairly clean. The staff were friendly and recommended dishes, which was highly appreciated. This place is recommended for those who enjoy drinking alcohol. The straw-grilled bonito was incredibly delicious! They also had oysters available.

On January 12, I went on a business trip to Obihiro. Due to heavy snow in Eastern Hokkaido, I unexpectedly had to pass through Erimo Town, making the journey take 6 and a half hours. I used the 2000 yen coupon that I received as a Hokkaido resident at this restaurant. The place was bustling with customers. Dining alone can be tough. I ordered sea urchin, straw-grilled bonito, and nagaimo (Chinese yam) somen. The sea urchin had a slight fishy smell, but it was within acceptable limits. Once you try sea urchin without using alum, you may find it difficult to enjoy other types. The nagaimo somen was unique and I loved it because I enjoy shredded nagaimo. The straw-grilled bonito was delicious too, but I wished it came with grated garlic. The menu is diverse and the prices are reasonable. No wonder it's so crowded! Thank you for the meal.

This is an old review. I went there on a business trip. The inside of the restaurant was full of students or young people. I remember feeling a bit worried while drinking because of the pandemic. I had sea urchin, chicken, pork, which were all delicious and very Hokkaido-like. I wish I could have eaten more, but I was alone so I held back. I would like to go again, preferably with a few people.

In the bustling district of Obihiro, there are several shops with the name "Isshin". Each shop seems to have its own concept, but the best part is that you can drink cheaply at all of them. And if you use coupons, it's even more cost-effective. So, let's choose this place for tonight in Obihiro. "Tokachi Warayaki Robata Isshin" is the name of the place, and it seems that their specialty is warayaki and robata dishes. I made a reservation through a certain gourmet booking site. With the coupon, the all-you-can-drink option is only 390 yen, which is a great deal. It's past 6 pm and the place is quite crowded. It must be a popular spot. We were seated at the counter in the back, where we could see the warayaki being prepared. Let's start with a cheers with a glass of draft beer. The appetizer is salmon roe and stingray fin. We lightly sear them on a mini charcoal grill. Let's order a few more dishes. Today feels like a meaty mood. "Char siu warayaki" for 499 yen. The char siu pork belly is finished with a sweet and savory sauce. We mix it with soft-boiled egg and green onions. You can faintly smell the warayaki flavor. This goes well with beer. "Hokkaido beef dice steak" for 499 yen. Served with ponzu sauce and plenty of grated radish. Surprisingly light and tasty. It's tender and delicious. We didn't eat much because we were mainly focused on drinking. I feel like going to another place for another drink. I had 5 beers and 1 highball, while my wife had 1 beer and 1 Nanchara sour. We were able to drink cheaply.

I was lured in by the sign advertising all-you-can-drink for 390 yen. The dried shishamo fish that was slightly grilled as an appetizer was delicious, and the tsukune and chicken with a straw-grilled aroma were well thought out and tasty. The beef tongue was also enjoyable as you get to grill it yourself in a small Genghis Khan pot. The beef toro bowl was incredibly delicious, especially when you grate the mountain wasabi yourself and mix it with soy sauce. This restaurant was perfect for beer drinkers like me and meat lovers like my husband. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I was invited in by a beckoning sign and found it to be a great restaurant personally. The prices were reasonable and the food was delicious. They have a wide variety of menu options! I recommend this place for casual dining. I look forward to trying out different dishes next time I go.

A few minutes walk from Obihiro Station, you will see a shop with a distinctive appearance, "Rojiro no Isshin". I decided to make this my second stop for bar hopping. The inside of the restaurant is bustling with many customers and the staff are full of energy. We ordered highballs and made a toast! The appetizer was grilled salmon, among other dishes. The charcoal aroma was delightful. For our main dishes, we shared a sashimi platter (tuna, salmon, octopus), asparagus, oysters, rolled straw-grilled pork, and seared bonito. The food was all decent and satisfying, though nothing particularly stood out. As expected from a popular izakaya. The menu was extensive, and there were many other dishes that caught our eye, but for this round of Obihiro bar hopping, we'll leave it at that. Now, where shall we go next?

It seems like a shop targeting tourists with a variety of menu options. They offer reasonably priced all-you-can-drink options with a variety of shochu choices. When visiting with four people, we ordered hokke-yaki, Genghis Khan, toriwara-yaki, and asparagus, and also ordered the usual black kirishima shochu. Hmm? The taste seems a little different. There are few izakayas offering a variety of options in the Obihiro area, so it might be good if you want to enjoy different types of dishes. Thank you for the meal!

I was lured in by a coupon service and ended up at a restaurant called Isshin. Yesterday, they offered a free ikura (salmon roe) bowl! I remember at this restaurant they used to offer a sashimi platter or grilled lamb as a service, but it seems to change depending on the medium, so I kind of mumbled and said it was a free 6-piece oyster service haha. I ate so much yesterday, with the ikura bowl, meat, and fish, that my stomach wasn't feeling great, even a day later. Today, I decided to take it easy and just drink oolong tea. The appetizer cost 500 yen, and it was self-grilled eihire (stingray fin) and grilled salmon belly. They told me to grill it for about 30 seconds. It was quite salty...maybe it would go well with alcohol. The oysters I got with the coupon were very luxurious! Grilled, steamed, with cheese, grated daikon, lemon, yuzu pepper, and chili pepper. They were small but delicious. I also had chicken with grated ponzu sauce and asparagus. It was my first time trying grilled chicken, and it had a smoky flavor like smoked food. The meat was delicious, and the asparagus was tasty too. The salad the customer next to me had was generous, and the rice balls were big. The food here has a good volume. I wanted to try the ramen salad, but I decided against it. I was craving something sweet, so I had the original pudding. It's made with milk from Tokachi, but the sweetness was quite mild. Maybe I should have gone with the creme brulee... It seems like a good place to go with a large group, as you can try a variety of dishes. The staff were energetic and lively. They had many menu items that weren't listed online, so I'll share the menu here. The portions are quite large for one person, but there were a few customers who only had one beer and left, so they might be regulars. It seems like the culture of casual drinking isn't as common in Obihiro, but it works here. Thank you for the meal!

I used this restaurant for a company party. - Despite having a reservation, they mistook my friend behind me as new customers and kept asking "How many people are in your party?" multiple times. - We were instructed to go to the second floor, but there were no staff there, so we had to find our own seats. - We ended up squeezing 11 people into a table set for 8. - The QR code for mobile orders was only available in one spot at the back of the table, making it hard for the person sitting by the aisle to scan it. - They changed the course menu without any prior notice. - Drinks were mostly served at room temperature. - It took 10 minutes for them to return my credit card after payment (it's scary to have my card held for that long). - They have a system where you take off your shoes when sitting at a sunken kotatsu table, but they don't return your shoes until you ask them to when leaving (even though we had finished paying before our allotted time was up). I thought this restaurant, with multiple locations in the city, would be popular, but it was my mistake for not researching enough.
