An acquaintance from a bar recommended me a place to buy fresh sushi ingredients. When I go with my family, we usually get sushi rolls or unique items, but when I go alone, I prefer getting sushi and appetizers. This time, I bought some sushi and appetizers for lunch.
Fatty Tuna Sushi: The tuna was so fatty that it glistened even as I waited in line. The slices were large enough to cover the rice completely, and at 4 pieces for 500 yen, it was a great deal. The meat was tender and melted in my mouth, with the fat evenly distributed throughout.
Horse Mackerel Sushi: This one was also quite fatty, with a layer of shiso leaf underneath the thick slices of fish, giving it a refreshing taste.
Fresh Oyster: I opted for shucked oysters this time, and they were large and plump, offering great value for money at 450 yen for one.
Oysters from Okayama: These oysters were famous for their size, with each one being larger than usual. I got 8 oysters for 200 grams, which seemed like they were larger than L size. They were delicious and well worth the price.
In the past, I have also purchased fresh eel liver, seaweed-wrapped fish, and dried firefly squid, all of which were tasty and reasonably priced. The quality and cost-effectiveness of the seafood at this place are exceptional, making it a go-to spot for fresh and delicious ingredients.

Fresh Market Daiyu, this is my second visit. There are vegetables at the front of the store, and at the back, there is a fresh fish section where locals are bustling around. In the fish section, there is a variety of fresh sashimi that all look beautiful and delicious. On this day, they had fugu sashimi, medium fatty tuna, turbot sashimi, wild sea bream, homemade bonito tataki, and more. Although I was interested in the fugu sashimi, the wild sea bream looked so beautiful that I ended up purchasing it. It was close to closing time, so I got a discount and got a good deal. The fatty wild sea bream was delicious when made into carpaccio. I couldn't find the homemade pickled mackerel that was sold out this time, but I would like to visit again. Fresh Market Daiyu Opening hours: 10:00-18:00 Closed on Thursdays Located right next to a shopping street in Awaji, behind Kirindo (1F Matsumoto Kiyoshi, 4F DAISO).

Fresh Market Daiyu is a shop that always caught my attention with its crowded atmosphere every time I passed by. Finally, I had the chance to visit when I had some time. The front of the store displays vegetables, while the back is dedicated to a fresh fish section. The store was bustling with locals. The fresh fish section had a variety of sashimi that all looked delicious. The thickness of their homemade marinated mackerel was surprising and looked very appetizing. On this particular day, they had wild cuttlefish at a special price, so I decided to purchase some. I had once tried cuttlefish sashimi in Wakayama and was so impressed by its taste that I wanted to have it again. The fatty wild cuttlefish sashimi was incredibly delicious. I am curious to try their homemade marinated mackerel next time. I definitely plan to visit again. Fresh Market Daiyu is open from 10:00 to 18:00 and closed on Thursdays. It is located right near a shopping street in Awaji, behind Kirindo (1F Matsumoto Kiyoshi, 4F DAISO).
