While wandering around looking for souvenirs for my company during my trip to Fukuoka, I came across a line for freshly baked treats and decided to buy one. It was so delicious that I thought I should buy more the next day before heading back. I couldn't eat it that day, so I tried it the following day, and it was soft and had a gentle flavor. If I were a Fukuoka resident, I would definitely buy it as a souvenir to take home.

It looked delicious, so I bought it and had it for breakfast at home! I purchased enough for my whole family, and they were happy to eat it. The price was reasonable, and I think it would make a good souvenir. Since it's from Hankyu Department Store, it has a bit of a luxurious feel, which I liked.

I heard that there is a freshly baked dorayaki at a steam shop in the Hankyu department store basement, so I stopped by! It was like a workshop where they make it on the spot, but it was just a corner in the department store basement. However, there were separate lanes for freshly made and pre-made products, so I was able to buy smoothly. I took it back to the hotel and ate it while it was still warm, feeling happy with its fluffy texture. It had been a while since I had it, but as always, it had a light taste and I ended up finishing it before dinner. They had a limited edition rum raisin flavor at Hankyu Hakata, so I also bought that. I forgot to take a picture, but there were raisins inside, and the rum was soaked into the dough. It had a more adult taste than the plain one, but it was not heavy at all, and I finished it quickly as well. Since I rarely go to Kagoshima (or cannot go), if there is a steam shop in Hakata where you can eat freshly baked dorayaki, I would definitely prefer that~✨ Please open one in Tokyo too...

I love the local sweets here the most! I bought Kasutadon and Doraton. Kasutadon has an unmistakably delicious taste ✨ Doraton was my first time trying it, and the red bean paste inside was plump and very tasty as well. If I feel like eating them again, I want to order them and have them delivered. Highly recommended!!

I purchased this based on a friend's recommendation. It was incredibly delicious when eaten freshly baked at Hankyu. Even the store-bought version tastes even better when warmed up in the microwave for about 20 seconds. It has a gentle flavor similar to hotcakes or castella.

I was happy to be able to buy Karukan and freshly baked donuts, as I have often been unable to buy Karukan recently. When you eat the freshly baked donuts, they are hot and fluffy, with a slightly crispy edge, which I like. The Steamed Bun Shop is very reasonably priced, which is very helpful.

There is a shop located on the underground first floor of Hakata Hankyu on the Hakata side of Hakata Station. There are many customers here. Just like the shop in Tenjin, they also sell Danuts. I bought the classic Karukan Manju for 130 yen including tax. It is a moist and sweet white sponge cake with sweet red bean paste inside. "Karukan" refers to the white sponge cake, and when it has red bean paste inside, it is called "Karukan Manju".

A traditional Japanese confectionery shop based in Kagoshima. They offer popular souvenirs from Kagoshima such as Karukan and Custard. I purchased the Dounatsu from their branch in Fukuoka, which is similar to their other products. The Dounatsu is made without frying in oil, using plenty of fresh eggs and baked moist and tender. The natural sweetness from the eggs is gentle and not too sugary. The moist texture makes you want to have more. The mild sweetness, easy for anyone to enjoy, is a great point.

I was able to buy egg noodle at the local product exhibition in Nagoya! Egg noodle is a popular item, and I got excited when I found it. It's not just delicious, but it also teaches about food culture roots. In Hakata, my friend wanted to buy donuts, but I was more excited about finding egg noodles. It's a bit envy that you can easily buy it in Hakata.

I was looking for souvenirs in Hakata and found these which looked delicious, so I bought them. I purchased freshly baked "yaki-donatsu" and some for souvenirs. The freshly baked ones were fluffy and only available in plain flavor. The ones with longer shelf life came in plain, karukan, custard, limited edition chocolate, and Hankyu-exclusive raisin flavors. I bought a variety and tried them, and the freshly baked plain one was the most delicious! It was fluffy and had a nice sweetness to it. The ones with longer shelf life were also tasty, but they couldn't beat the freshly baked ones. The prices were reasonable and I recommend them as souvenirs to share with others.

On January 3rd, I stumbled upon a steam bakery while wandering around Hakata Hankyu. The sweet smell lured me in, and I couldn't resist stopping by. They sell hot and fresh donuts here for 91 yen each. You can buy them without having to wait for them to be made. I've loved these donuts from here since I was young. 😊

Sunday visit, no wait at 14:05 visit. It was the last time for Karukan. Left at 14:07. It is directly connected to Hakata Station, but being underground may make it easy to get lost. Karukan (rose): The chewy dough with a subtle red bean paste is irresistible.

I received this from someone who I am indebted to. When it comes to steam buns, Custardon is the go-to place, but their donuts are also quite good. I tried the chocolate flavor for the first time. It's moist, but quite dehydrating. It seems like it would go well with milk. The sweetness is also modest, and since it's not fried, the calories are also low. Modest, humble, and wonderful. Thank you! It was a feast.

Non-fried doughnuts made with plenty of eggs and baked with just the right amount of sweetness. When warmed in the microwave for 30 seconds, you can enjoy the freshly made fluffy texture. It was a seasonal limited edition flavor with black sesame and lemon. I enjoyed it very much.

When people from Kansai visit Hakata, they always end up stopping by Hankyu Department Store on their way back. This time, I bought some sweets for the following week at Hankyu. Even though it's Hankyu, I thought it would be Kansai-style, but there was a snack called "Hakata Dounatsu" which is a full-on Hakata treat. Moreover, when I looked it up later, it turned out to be a company from Kagoshima, but at this point, it doesn't really matter (laughs). This "Dounatsu" is fluffy and has a traditional Japanese confectionery-like taste, probably healthier compared to regular donuts. It's nice that your hands don't get greasy from the oil like with other snacks.

Popular as a souvenir from Hakata, many people seem to enjoy Hakata Yaki Dounatsu as a souvenir. It appears that people buy it when they visit Hakata. I found a paper bag in the closet while I was away. The bag seemed familiar as soon as I saw it. It turns out that there are about 13 left in the bag, with two already eaten by someone. I cannot eat Hakata Yaki Dounatsu as it feels like it will get stuck in my throat. They are about 7.5 cm in diameter and cost around 100 yen each. Even though my husband knows that I don't eat them, he still felt the need to hide them. I can only think that he hid them because there is a possibility that he might take them to the neighbor's house. According to my husband, he likes that they are moist and not too sweet. He claims that you can eat up to three at a time, and they taste even better when warmed in the microwave. It seems that they are sold in three department stores in Fukuoka City. To eat them, you either have to receive them from someone or go to the department store.

The shop selling baked doughnuts had a catchy slogan: "Not fried in oil. That's why we want to serve them." These doughnuts are also known as healthy doughnuts that are not deep-fried. While I enjoy fried doughnuts, these steamed doughnuts from this shop are light, sweet, and have a moist and fluffy texture without being heavy. They are not too rich and are likely to be favored by elderly people as well. They have a gentle taste that goes well with tea or coffee, and their unique flavor that does not belong to either Japanese or Western cuisine makes them a great gift option. Thank you for the delicious meal!

As I walked into the Hankyu underground area, I was greeted by a sweet and pleasant aroma, like a crepe or cake. Intrigued by the smell, I followed it to this shop. The freshly baked goods were available, and I couldn't resist getting one. I asked the staff if they had any freshly baked ones, and they handed me a plain baked doughnut for 86 yen each. I found a nearby bench and took a bite. It was soft and had a gentle taste, reminiscent of pancakes, madeleines, or financiers. For less than 100 yen, it was a delightful treat that I would love to have regularly as a snack. They also had options with longer shelf lives, which would make great souvenirs. Thank you for the delicious treat!

I was drawn to buy it because they were doing a live demonstration sale at the Hankyu Department Store in Hakata. I wasn't expecting much, but it was delicious. It looks like a donut, but the texture is like a cross between a donut and a madeleine, which is interesting. It's not a donut that will blow you away, but it's surprisingly satisfying. The donuts from Steamed Bun Shop are the best in the world~ Thank you for the meal. Namaste.

I tried a donut that was not fried in oil. It has a rich black sesame flavor and a slightly chewy texture. It goes well with cold milk. The sweetness is moderate, but each donut has a good amount of volume. It's perfect as a snack when you're feeling a little hungry!
