I found a place where three cows gather, called "Hin = Hishimekiya" - what's that! ★3.28★ It's a friendly shop that explains the different types of horumon (offal) - beginner, intermediate, and advanced - in a way that even amateurs can understand. Despite being near a famous horumon specialty shop where professionals gather, this shop is perfect for beginners. I visited on Wednesday around 7:00 PM, dining alone. I was shocked when I saw the sign in front of the shop - if I had arrived by 6:00 PM, I could have enjoyed a happy hour with special discounts - check out the photo for confirmation! haha. Anyway, it's a cost-effective shop even without the happy hour, so no need to worry. First, I ordered the slow-cooked and fast-cooked horumon. The slow-cooked included harami, biwaharami (sagari), akasen, and upper mino. The akasen was served first, but the fast-cooked dish didn't come. It was a mistake in the order, as the foreign female part-timer was inexperienced. I ordered it again, and when the akasen was more than halfway gone, the fast-cooked dish was finally served. The portions were generous and delicious. Since the shop was empty, the grilled dishes were served quickly. I had to eat quickly to avoid them getting cold! Everything was delicious. I found a unique menu item called "teiru soup no dashimaki" and ordered it. It turned out to be a regular dashimaki. I also ordered a frozen lemon chu-hi, which was delicious. Here, it's a meat and sake bar called Benya! Sorry, I can't read the difficult kanji in the store name. It seems like they are quite the challengers, offering a rare dish of almost raw liver (laughs). It's like, raw something or other. They serve mostly raw meat dishes that even other restaurants might find daring. They must have a lot of confidence, but it's been a while since I've had the texture of raw liver (laughs). The cost performance is good, but the staff have a tough, intimidating style of service (scary). They seem strict with regular customers, I think.

Today, we had a year-end party with my company members. I was craving for motsu (offal) and yakitori, so we went to this restaurant called Koyama. We ordered a course with all-you-can-drink option, and also added yakitori and motsu to our order. We indulged in various dishes like kobukuro (pouch) and tataki since it's the end of the year. After the all-you-can-drink ended, we enjoyed wine, beer, and soda while savoring the skewers. Personally, I liked the kobukuro dish the most. I wish the portion was a bit bigger though. The skewers were all delicious, and the motsu nabe (offal hot pot) was amazing. The taste was very satisfying, but we ended up ordering too much from the a la carte menu, so the bill was higher than expected. Well, it's the last year-end party of the year, so it's okay, right?

In Osaka, my family and I decided to have dinner, or rather a drinking session, at a restaurant in the southern part of the city where we were staying. We walked around the area looking for a place to go and were drawn to this restaurant with a sign advertising various meat skewers. These types of restaurants in Osaka have a lively atmosphere, which we enjoyed. They serve unique skewers made from different parts of the meat. We ordered some skewers along with cucumber and changja, and as we drank beer, more skewers kept coming. The restaurant had cuts of meat that were not commonly found in Fukuoka, and they were delicious and enjoyable. The waitresses were energetic and got us excited, so we ended up ordering more skewers and other dishes. On that day, they offered a 60-minute all-you-can-drink deal for only 500 yen, which made us very happy. We had drinks like green tea highball and many more, and the bill at the end was surprisingly cheap. We decided that we would come back to this place more often in the future. Although lunch service had been offered in the past, it seems they have recently resumed lunch hours (11:30-14:00), possibly due to the impact of the new coronavirus. I chose the yakiniku bowl (double portion) from the lunch menu, priced at 980 yen (tax included). It arrived in about 7 minutes. The price includes egg soup. When asked about rice portion size, I opted for a medium portion. A small plate was provided for temporarily setting aside the meat. The portion of meat was quite generous for the price. The spacious interior is well-managed by the chef with good service and delicious meat at a reasonable price. The sauce for the skewered meat is quite strong, but not unpleasant. The daikon peel pickled in soy sauce is also excellent at only 90 yen. They also offer a fantastic Iwate junmai sake labeled as a hidden gem. Overall, both the taxi driver and their companion were very satisfied and enjoyed searching for taxi drivers as a side activity.

They serve yakiniku in the form of yakitori, a Japanese skewered chicken dish. It's a simple idea - just replace chicken with beef and offal. This restaurant has a flexible mindset and is willing to put in the effort to make it happen. Here's what I had: assorted raw beef tongue sashimi, raw senmai (beef intestine) sashimi, salted beef tongue skewers, top offal skewers, crunchy skewers, offal skewers, skirt steak skewers, and beef cheek skewers. Side dishes included Chinese cabbage kimchi and bean sprout namul. For dessert, I had the "Salt-grilled soba noodles from the bar." If it weren't for the word "skewer" in the menu, you would think it's a yakiniku restaurant. Now, let's start with the skewers. I tried all of them with a salt seasoning. Delicious. Each skewer was so tasty. By the way, what is "crunchy"? It truly had a crunchy texture as its name suggests! It's my favorite skewer. The assorted beef tongue sashimi was something new to me, as I've never heard of it before. But it was really good. All three types were delicious. I visited Nikusakaba Tobikura Nishinakajima store, located just a 1-minute walk from Nishinakajima-Minamigata Station in Osaka, for a solo lunch on a weekday. I ordered the Charcoal-grilled Harami Don with extra meat from the lunch menu for 980 yen. The soup is self-service. The dish arrived in about 7 minutes. It consisted of lettuce spread over rice, topped with seasoned Harami. Even with the extra meat (for an additional 200 yen), I still felt the portion was a bit small. However, it was delicious!
