I bought takeout for myself and my children. This time, I bought Airy Biscuit for 346 yen, Florentine for 194 yen, Financier for 292 yen, and Galette Bretonne for 313 yen. I tried the Airy Biscuit after warming it up. First, I tried it as it is. It was crispy with amazing layers. Delicious. When I poured maple syrup on it, the syrup seeped into the layers making it soft and even more delicious. The maple syrup was sold separately, so it's better to buy it together. The other three pastries were for my children. They said, "Delicious! Is this all there is? I wanted to eat more!" I wanted to try all the items on the menu, so I will definitely go back! Just be aware that cash is not accepted at this place.

Airy biscuit 346 yen, financier 292 yen, and Mont Blanc donut 389 yen were purchased. The Mont Blanc donut had a good level of sweetness and texture. The Airy biscuit is recommended to eat with your favorite jam, but it was not particularly delicious for the price. The financier, which I had high expectations for, had a strong buttery taste and a heavy texture that was not to my liking. The sweetness was also too strong. This may be a hit or miss as a souvenir. If you want to try it out once for the sake of conversation, it's okay. Personally, I prefer the taste and affordability of Henri Charpentier or Joël Robuchon's petits fours.

Cheesecake shop "KAKA" in Yakuin-Sakurazaka has a sister store called "QUEEN". I received the "Airy Biscuit" as a souvenir from the Yakuin branch of QUEEN, which opened last year. The 15 layers of fluffy buttery pastry exude a buttery aroma. I enjoyed it by soaking it in maple syrup until it seeped through the layers. It was my first time trying this type of baked good, resembling a bread-like pastry, and it was very delicious! There are other items that pique my interest, so I would like to visit the store and inquire further.

In April 2022, I went on a trip to Fukuoka after a year and five months. I visited a place near Yakuin Odori Station in Fukuoka City where I usually go, called "Prince of the Fruits", and had a parfait. Then, I found a nearby shop called "Queen". The shop is located at 4-18-15 Yakuin, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, on the first floor. They specialize in freshly baked sweets and take reservations. I didn't have any prior information about this shop, but I was drawn into the stylish interior. I bought two canelés for 292 yen each. They are described as "a sophisticated sweet with vanilla and rum flavor. Goes well with wine." I enjoyed the crispy outside and chewy inside texture of the canelés with a hint of rum flavor after returning to the hotel.

I went to a stylish shop that just opened~. They don't accept cash payments. They have madeleines, financiers, and Breton galettes. I can't decide which one to choose! Each item is a bit pricey. There are 5 employees even though there are no customers... The madeleine with tea for 258 yen is crispy on the outside with a nice flavor of tea and lemon! The galette for 313 yen has a strong buttery flavor and a good amount of filling, very delicious!! The galette has a good portion size and might be nice as a souvenir~ ★

I finally got to visit the famous cake shop "KAKA" which opened a baked goods store called "QUEEN"! It's about a 10-minute walk from Yakuin Station (*^^*), even closer from Yakuin Odori Station. I went there specifically for the Airy Biscuits! Initially, they would sell out quickly after opening, but starting from November, they started accepting reservations (pick-up until 4 pm). I reserved 6 Airy Biscuits for ¥346 each. It's a bit pricey, but they are quite large! They also offered Maple Syrup for ¥30, but I didn't buy it. I also bought a Financier for ¥292. The next day, I warmed it up in the toaster oven wrapped in aluminum foil and it was buttery delicious! It was tasty even without any toppings. I imagine it would be even better if eaten fresh out of the oven! The Financier was decently good. I would love to buy the Airy Biscuits again if I have the chance (*´ω`*)

A shop with a high-end snack-like appearance. No cash accepted. You order over the counter without trays and tongs like a bakery. Feeling uneasy... (laughs) Overwhelmed by the unfamiliar high-end atmosphere (laughs) and can't decide what to get (laughs). I ended up choosing the Airy Biscuit. Thought it was expensive, but considering the interior and service, it's worth it. The Airy Biscuit is surprisingly substantial and safe for takeout. When I got home, I took a big bite. Mmm!!! This is amazing!!! Layers! Thick layers for a biscuit! But thin layers for a biscuit! Layers but thick! It's like a pie! Croissant! Bread! What is thissssssssssssssss!!!!!! Strong buttery flavor, strong saltiness, delicious. What is this? It's so simple yet complex. Definitely going to buy it again!

Cheesecake popular "KAKA" has opened a sister store specializing in freshly baked sweets. They bake everything in-store and are particular about serving items fresh out of the oven. The nearest station is Yakuin-Odori Station, a 3-4 minute walk away. The exterior and interior of the shop are stylish. Although there were reports of long lines online, when I visited after 11 am, there was only one customer ahead of me. The baked sweets looked delicious, and the aroma was enticing. According to the shop's website, they use carefully selected ingredients such as cream from Kagoshima and fermented butter. I purchased a total of 5 items from 4 different varieties for 1372 yen, with a 10 yen charge for the bag. Payment is cashless only, no cash accepted. The items I tried were as follows: - Financier (292 yen x 2): The butter flavor was not too strong, and the almond powder provided a nice balance of flavor and sweetness. - Florentine (194 yen): Although the slices were thin, the generous amount of almond slices made it a good value. The texture was pleasant and the taste was delicious. - Airy Biscuit (346 yen): This biscuit had multiple layers of folded dough, resulting in a moist texture. It seemed a bit pricey to me, but the effort put into making it was evident. - Baked Donut (238 yen): A small, lightly sweetened donut. Among the four items, the Florentine was my favorite. They also offer gift boxes, making it a great option for souvenirs.

When passing by, I saw a lot of people lined up at the storefront and thought, "I wonder what it is? Oh, it's a bakery selling baked goods!" I heard it was the sister store of "Cheesecake KAKA" and decided to visit. I entered at noon but there were only three types of baked goods left. I bought 3 of each. They were definitely delicious! #Queen #baked goods #cheesecake #KAKA

I heard that a new pastry shop opened in Yakuin, so I went to check it out. It seems they don't accept cash here. I bought the signature Airy Biscuit and Galette. The Airy Biscuit is like a premium version of the biscuit that comes with a famous fried chicken chain set. It's crispy and has a gentle sweetness. It's recommended to eat it with maple syrup, but it's delicious even without it. The Galette is fragile and crumbles easily when picked up, but it has a nice buttery aroma and tastes really good. The Florentine is also delicate and crumbles easily, especially the caramelized almond on top. Personally, I prefer it to be more crispy. The Financier was tasty, but I prefer it to be more moist. Although the variety of pastries displayed in the shop is limited and the prices are a bit high, the satisfaction level of the pastries is high.

I brought home an almond Florentine. It was decent for the price. Since there is no parking lot, I don't feel the need to go out of my way to park in a parking area.

This was my first visit. Finally, it was open. I had tried several times before but it was always closed. It was just average. The food was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

My daughter visited Hakata with her friend on a concert tour and bought some cookies for me. Unfortunately, the photo of the other baked goods she brought back disappeared, so I only have a picture of the cookies. We received three types of sweets. The Airy Biscuit (no image) has a subtle buttery aroma. It's like a pastry with layers of dough stacked on top of each other, quite dense and large in size. You can warm it in the microwave and re-bake it in the toaster. It can also be enjoyed with maple syrup (sold separately), but we had it as is. The dough was a bit too heavy for my liking. The Galette Bretonne (no image) also has a dense dough with a very thick texture. It was a bit difficult to eat due to its thickness. The buttery flavor is strong, but we might prefer it with half the thickness. The bag of cookies (image included) was my favorite among the three sweets we received this time. It's a crispy chocolate cookie topped with white chocolate and raspberries. The balance was perfect, with the sweetness of white chocolate and the acidity of raspberries adding a nice touch. Thank you for the souvenir. It was delicious!
