I thought the cream inside was custard, but it was actually a delicious cream that also had a milky taste. I found out that it is an original cream made by mixing custard cream and fresh cream. The slightly sweet and fine-textured sponge cake melts gently in the mouth, and the balance of the lightly sweet and airy cream is just right. The sugar grains on top also add a nice accent. When I brought it as a souvenir for my grandmother who is over 90 years old, she found it so delicious that she finished it neatly in a few minutes. I entered the shop thinking it used to be a different store. I purchased financiers (pistachio, plain), sablé soleil, and galette. The financiers were moist and had a wonderful buttery aroma. Inside the light and fluffy dough made of fine meringue, egg yolk, flour, and sugar, there is plenty of custard cream and whipped cream. It's a soft and light sweet that melts in your mouth. The occasional crunchy texture on top makes it delicious. The price of 170 yen per piece is reasonable.

The plain Baumkuchen is a moist type of Baumkuchen with a strong sweetness that is not overwhelming. The moist texture is irresistible. It is a simple but excellent treat. Delicious. Favori Prue, a popular cake and cafe shop in Kuchinetsu, opened a branch at Amu Plaza on December 1, 2020. I found out about it at Living Kitakyushu, so I registered and visited the store in advance. The main store is located near another popular shop called Kikutaro, which specializes in Japanese sweets and has already expanded with a branch, gaining a lot of popularity. The store is relatively small, with two rows of display cases, making the aisle narrow. It's a bit concerning in these times as social distancing may be a challenge. Although the Color Baum, a popular item at the main store, is available, I didn't find it particularly delicious when I tried it there, so this time I opted for baked goods. I also purchased the popular cream puff-like "Sliel". The Sliel features a sponge cake with a subtle sweetness and a custard cream that exudes elegance. The powdered sugar adds a crunchy texture in some places, indicating the meticulous preparation. Among all the Favori sweets I've tried, this one is my favorite. I plan to save the rest for tomorrow's office snack, so I'll share my thoughts another time (laughs). While the Color Baum I had before didn't impress me, I have now completely changed my mind.
