The taste was disappointing as the butter flavor was completely missing from the kamameshi. I thought maybe it was just me, so I tried mixing it more, but the butter flavor never came through until the end. I wonder if the kitchen staff or the servers checked on this? Also, the service from the staff was just basic, nothing more or less.

You can choose between cold and hot soba with the Fukutei set, and it arrived in less than 5 minutes, probably because it was pre-ordered. I tried some of the "Gorgeous" set from my companion. The steak was very tender and delicious, and the egg was sweet and tasty. The Pork Cutlet Set arrived in less than 10 minutes, and the pork was flavorful with a sweet and savory sauce that went well with the rice. The soba had a chewy flat noodle with a nice texture. The atmosphere was calm and enjoyable, but the portion size was a bit small and on the pricey side, so I probably won't come back unless I'm invited.

Both were delicious. The menu clearly stated that it used beef injected with fat, but if it tastes good, that's all that matters. The Hormone Teppanyaki had a subtle saltiness and let the natural flavors of the ingredients shine through. However, there was very little hormone, and it was too mild to be a good accompaniment to rice. The Dried Koma Fish was perhaps dried for too long or frozen for too long, as it was overly salty. The Caesar Salad was tasty with plenty of cheese. My companion dislikes onsen tamago, so she requested not to have it included, which was accommodated. The interior looked upscale, but the food was average. The presentation and plates were beautiful, but the food itself felt like a typical izakaya. Maybe I made a mistake in choosing the dishes as I didn't order much seafood. However, the only rice dish we had, the kamameshi, was delicious. The menu seems to cover everything from snacks to meals, so I think I will visit this place frequently.

I was drawn to the "3-hour all-you-can-drink" offer for 3,500 yen, so I decided to have our New Year's party at this restaurant. It's rare to find a place with a 3-hour option in Kushiro. The price is very reasonable, but unfortunately, they didn't have draft beer, only a third beer option with malt and hops. We were served sparkling wine as an aperitif (you can choose from 4 types). The hot pot was a tomato-based bouillabaisse with seafood, which was delicious - the umami of the seafood and the acidity of the tomato matched well. There was so much seafood in the pot that the three of us couldn't finish it all. For the finale, we had cheese on okayu (rice porridge). I wish there was more cheese, but the okayu was very tasty. We also had potatoes, cod fry, pizza, tofu salad, and dessert, so we left feeling full. Considering all this for 3,500 yen, I think it's a fantastic deal!

"Kushiro Fukutei" is a famous Japanese cuisine restaurant in Kushiro with its main branch in Sakae-cho. They only operate in the evenings, so it's sad that they don't have a lunch service. The Kushiro Fukutei Kairitei-ro Ashino branch has a stylish izakaya concept, different from the main branch in Sakae-cho. While the dinner menu has izakaya prices, they also serve lunch which is quite reasonable and always crowded. This time, I decided to try their lunch menu at "Kushiro Fukutei Kairitei-ro Ashino branch". The non-smoking seats had a 20-minute wait, but I didn't mind waiting. The seats were sunken kotatsu style. The daily lunch specials are appealing, but this time I chose the Tokachi Ayami Gyuu Sukiyaki set. It was more generous in portion than the menu photo. The sukiyaki pot was quite filling. The "Tokachi Ayami beef" was amazing! The side dishes were colorful and delicious. The sukiyaki pot was so tasty that I couldn't resist having more rice, which was a bit disappointing as they didn't offer rice refills. I wish they had that option. However, watching the children run and dance with all their might made me realize how much I've been lacking in giving my all lately. The sports festival started earlier than scheduled and ended around 10 pm. We went to Kaiteiro for lunch before 11:30 am. It's a good idea to make a reservation as there were already several groups waiting when we arrived. The interior of the restaurant is still clean and spacious, suitable for large groups, parties, or business dinners. The only downside is that the noise tends to echo, making it hard to hear conversations clearly. The Oyster Mayo dish was delicious, according to those who tried it, while the Tartar Zangi was a bit too greasy. The children's lunch plate had more sushi rolls than listed on the menu, and the Ebi Mayo made with a whole prawn was a hit. The Tsubu Sashi had a great texture and flavor, but the presentation could have been better. The Seafood Rice Bowl set had fresh and tasty seafood, especially the salmon and tsubu. Overall, the food quality varied, with some dishes being excellent while others were a bit heavy. The seafood dishes were a safe bet, and the restaurant offers private rooms for groups, starting at a reasonable price with a choice of hotpot options.
