I tried my best at the Hanshin Championship Sale, but it ended yesterday. For lunch, I went to the 5th floor basement of a department store where there are not many places to eat. The fried rice was delicious. The ramen had Chinese-style vegetables in it and the broth had a Chinese flavor. I thought if they could serve these flavors at each branch, it would be great. Since there were no walls, we could see people waiting, so we quickly finished our meal and left. On the outer wall of Hanshin, it said "Looking forward to next year." Maybe in 18 years?

On such days, a quick dinner option is the cold noodle set. In Kansai, both chilled Chinese noodles and Korean cold noodles are called "cold noodles" (＾ω＾). It's been a while since I visited 551. The staff at the store explained everything according to the manual, which was great. The huge nikuman (meat bun) is their specialty. I usually buy nikuman as a souvenir, but this time it was for myself. My favorites are the sweet vinegar dango (rice dumplings) and shumai. The 10-piece sweet vinegar dango has a lot of delicious sauce. And the shumai is big, heavy, and tasty. I also bought a meat chimaki this time. I heated it up at home and it tasted great. Oh, it was so delicious. Thank you for the meal. They don't sell chilled shumai here.

The deliciousness of stability. Today, I purchased char siu buns, pork buns, and sweet vinegar dumplings. There is always a line whenever I go, but it's fun to watch them being made while waiting. Ice candies are also being sold until the end of this month, so I bought some as well. It's been a while since I last had them, but they are still delicious!

This is my second time at this restaurant. Even after 3 pm on a weekday, there were still a couple of groups waiting for seats, so it's definitely a popular spot. I ordered Tianjin rice and pork buns, and as always, they were delicious!

I arrived at Hankyu Sanbangai's Grill Ron around 11 o'clock in search of lunch, but surprisingly there were more than 10 people waiting outside on a weekday. I hurriedly moved to Grill Ron in Hankyu underground, but there was a long line there as well. What incredible popularity! I gave up and went to the nearby 551 Horai, where there was no wait. I ordered the seafood fried soba set for ¥1280, and it was delicious. I happened to see the cold noodles set next to me, so I've decided that next time, I will definitely try the cold noodles.

I was surprised by the incredibly slow service at this Chinese restaurant, it didn't feel very Chinese at all. More than half of the tables had no food on them. Even after being seated and placing an order, it took a long time for the food to arrive. The chefs didn't seem to be slacking off, but the pace was definitely not quick. I ended up feeling tired of waiting. The ramen was too salty and the shrimp was cold. The spring rolls were messy, but everything else tasted average as usual. The best dish was the almond jelly.

I used the eat-in service at 551 for the first time. I had the restaurant's specialty seafood yakisoba and mini mixed fried rice set. Both the seafood yakisoba and fried rice were delicious, but I was surprised by how tasty the complimentary soup was. There were also many other appetizing menu items, so I would like to visit again!

When I had some time, I went to the gourmet street in the basement of Hankyu Department Store! You can take out or eat in. I didn't have much time, but I wanted to eat a little with my friends from Kanto. It was perfect! I had shrimp chili fried rice and dumplings because I had recently eaten pork buns and shumai. They were delicious! My friends from Kanto also enjoyed it, so it was great. Thank you for the meal!

From Kobe, JR was delayed so I returned to Umeda via Hankyu and had dinner alone. I walked around inside Hankyu Department Store looking for a restaurant and found a 551 shop. I was led to a counter by the back where the staff were going in and out of the kitchen. Not the best spot. I ordered the seafood mixed vegetables and asked if I could have a half portion of fried rice as well. The seafood in the seafood mixed vegetables was scarce. The taste was gentle. The fried rice was even more bland. The soup was also bland. A set of three bland dishes. The half portion of fried rice was more expensive than I expected.

I had some time before making a pairing, so I wanted to try a famous Osaka specialty. Instead of taking it to go, I decided to eat it on the spot for a freshly made experience. The outer layer was thicker than I expected, but since the size was already big, the filling was packed nicely inside. The flavor was rich and well-balanced, making the dough and filling complement each other well. Since one piece is quite filling, it's a perfect snack to satisfy your hunger.

Food bloggers love gourmet TV shows ♡. One of the shows that airs every Wednesday on MBS is "Magical Restaurants", and on that day (September 28th), they featured a special item called "Char Siu Man" that is only sold at Marugame Seimen and 551 Horai. According to my family who went to buy it, it is only available from 11 am and the quantity is limited (the exact number is unknown). Also, they only sell boxes with 2 pieces each, so getting 3 or 5 pieces is not possible. At dinner time, we warmed it up in the microwave and it smelled so good! Let's dig in♪ When I cut it in half, I found chunks of char siu inside. I took a bite and it was delicious! It has a slightly sweet flavor, and the other ingredients like shiitake mushrooms and onions are cut into larger pieces. The char siu is roughly chopped, giving it a satisfying texture. It costs 450 yen for a pack of 2, which is only 30 yen more expensive than a regular pork bun. Hankyu Umeda Department Store B1. It seems like they renovated this area. It's like a proper food court in a nice store. I was wandering around, but then I saw "551" right in front of me! A place where you can eat in at "551"! I'm genuinely happy! I asked my friends, "Can we drink at 551? Can we drink at 551?" (laughs) Today, it's "551." I'll have some dumplings, meat buns, shumai, spring rolls, and other dim sum with drinks! The original concept of the store is probably more like "a meal with a side dish and a drink," but it's totally fine here! (laughs) I love it all! The draft beer is a great deal! I added some fried chicken and yakisoba. I love everything! (laughs) It was delicious. The staff is also very friendly. Last time, I tried to buy them at Itami Airport before boarding, but there was a long line and I almost missed my flight, so this time I purchased them here with plenty of time. I had already decided what to buy in advance, so I was able to make my purchase smoothly. The young female store clerk was very friendly and made the experience enjoyable. I also bought some meat dumplings recommended by my friends in Kansai. The pork buns, shumai, and shrimp shumai were delicious as expected, but the meat dumplings were also very tasty.

I had a meal with a client in Temma, then we took a leisurely walk back to Umeda. We wanted to eat at another place, but it took a while to find one suitable for my client who doesn't drink alcohol. By the time we decided, we ran out of time and ended up sharing fried chicken, spring rolls, and dumplings from the new food court in Hankyu underground. We also got pork buns and beer. I'm in Osaka. In Osaka, there is Kita, Umeda. This shop is located in the basement of the Hankyu Department Store. I visited on Christmas Eve. While chicken-related shops were crowded, this one was relatively empty, so I quickly bought a pork bun and a meat shumai. They also have shrimp shumai, but I prefer the meat shumai for its volume. The staff were surprisingly efficient and friendly. I took them home, and the slightly warm pork bun was delicious! I carefully peeled off the wooden tag on the back of the pork bun, cut it in half, added plenty of mustard to the minced pork filling, and enjoyed it. The remaining half was drizzled with Worcestershire sauce. The shumai, dipped in sauce with mustard, was savory and went well with beer. Even without chicken, Christmas Eve was enjoyable and delicious.

After finishing watching horse racing at Hanshin Racecourse, I said goodbye to my local friends and headed to Osaka Station. I still had plenty of time before my return Shinkansen. As I was wandering around, I found myself in Hankyu Department Store. I have been to Hankyu a few times, but this is my first time at Hanshin. Osaka's city layout is quite convenient with JR and Hankyu, but other areas seem surprisingly inconveniently located. I stumbled upon "551" and immediately got in line. Even though the food was handed to me piping hot, with the expiration date being that day, I couldn't resist buying it. I'll take it home and eat it later, even if I can't finish it today. This is the first time I bought shumai. It tastes like the filling of a pork bun turned into shumai. The filling is so similar that I thought, "Isn't it the same?" But it's delicious. It has a gentle onion flavor. If they're the same (well, they're probably different, haha), then shumai might have fewer calories because the skin is thinner. But oh, the pork bun skin is chewy and delicious too. I really can't decide. 551 is such a dilemma, haha.
