Since my college days, I have been a regular at "Gyoza no Ohsho." The first time I went was at a shop along Shirakawa Street in Kyoto. I remember being surprised when I saw the old man in charge of frying the karaage using his fingers to fry them (laughs). Isn't it hot?! ... The power of getting used to things is scary. In Kitakyushu, there used to be many Gyoza no Ohsho restaurants. The first one to open in Kokura was located underground across from the Yamaha music store in Uomachi. It was a small shop. There was also a branch in Shintsuru, beyond Shimizu, but when I bought takeout Tenshinhan and gyoza and opened the lid to eat, there was no sauce on the Tenshinhan! Such a restaurant, of course, was eliminated. In Kitakyushu, the number of Gyoza no Ohsho restaurants has significantly decreased. However, the "Gyoza no Ohsho Seaside Moji Branch" has managed to survive as a popular restaurant. At meal times, even if the timing is slightly off, there are always many waiting customers, showing how popular it is. On this day, I waited for about 15 minutes and was seated at the counter by myself. When you think of Ohsho, you think of "gyoza," and when you think of Ohsho, you think of "Tenshinhan." Back in college, I believe Tenshinhan was 280 yen and gyoza was 7 pieces for 150 yen, but that was a long time ago. Memories are somewhat unreliable (laughs). On this day, I ordered: - Gyoza (6 pieces) x 2: 237 yen each - Tenshin Fried Rice: 626 yen - Asahi Dry Zero: 324 yen Gyoza with beer is the best, right? Come to think of it, I remember Ohsho beer (large bottle) being 280 yen back in college, but I wonder if it's still available now?! The passage of time surely erodes memories. That's why this memory is also dubious (laughs). The gyoza... it's so delicious. But maybe two orders were a bit too much. The Tenshin Fried Rice... it's tasty, but it really fills you up (laughs). Maybe it's because of the rich flavor, but I feel the volume. It's easy to eat if it's a lighter Tenshinhan, but the fat and strong flavor really pile up in your stomach (laughs). My usual order at Ohsho is definitely Tenshin Fried Rice and gyoza (*^^)v Managed to finish it all - thanks for the meal!
