I had lunch at a restaurant in Nakasu Kawabata in Hakata, and stopped by a shop on the 1st floor of Hakata Riverain. I ordered the Guinness Curry for 650 yen and sat at a table. It was a little past 1 pm on a holiday, and there were a few customers enjoying lunch beers, including a woman sitting alone. The curry came out in 1-2 minutes. It was a rich beef curry, which may not be very filling for those looking for a large portion, but it was delicious when enjoyed with the free refill coffee.

I watched the World Cup here and enjoyed a craft beer called Yggdrasil to lift my spirits. Yggdrasil is clear and refreshing, easy to drink. It has a refreshing citrus-like taste and a very nice aroma. The set that allows you to compare it with other craft beers is a great deal. Watching soccer while drinking beer is a classic combination. It's sad to think that the next opportunity to enjoy this will be in four years.

On the way back from Marine Messe, I felt a little hungry so I had a hamburger for 800 yen and a beer for 450 yen (during happy hour). It was around 4 pm on Sunday, and the restaurant was quite busy with about 80% of the seats filled. Despite the old-fashioned belief that it's better to eat a set meal if you're going to have an expensive hamburger, I decided to go for it and I enjoyed it. It was simply delicious.

On a holiday afternoon, with some free time, I had a glass of highball. It was half price until 7 pm, so it was a good deal at ¥220! I sat on the terrace by the river where I could smoke, and enjoyed a leisurely time watching passing families and the scenery of Nakasu. Feeling like an adult, haha.

Sometimes, I decided to try this restaurant for a change, but actually it was because I wanted to use a certain point. The location and atmosphere of the restaurant are great. They were showing a baseball game on the monitor, so it kind of felt like a sports bar at night. There is also an open space next to the river, which would be nice to enjoy a drink in the cool evening. Now, about the lunch menu, I ordered the hamburger plate lunch for 950 yen with an extra 50 yen for extra rice. It came with a drink. The plate lunch was okay, but it looked a bit lonely, haha. The volume of the hamburger was decent, but it was a bit tough - I couldn't cut it with chopsticks, had to use a knife and fork. The taste was okay, but in terms of cost performance... well, it was average. Thank you for the meal. I would like to come back for a bar time next time.

The snacks around 400 yen were really delicious and highly recommended. The shrimp tempura-like dish was flavorful and tasty, especially when dipped. It goes well with alcohol. Thank you for the meal. The rehearsal music added to the excitement.

A British-style pub with a wide variety of drinks. There is no cover charge, which is appealing. They were offering a drink service or discount on the regular prices. I went alone, but the atmosphere was nice so I felt comfortable. I wanted to drink on the terrace, but there were restrictions like needing a group of 5 for some seats. The fish and chips were delicious. They had regular and large sizes, but the regular size was enough for one person.

Drinking in Nakasu, I headed to the quieter side of the river at Ribarein. I aimed for a terrace seat! Luckily, there was one available (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) Terrace seating is perfect for this season \( ˆoˆ )/ I left the people saving seats and went to pay. Even late at night, there were still quite a few customers. I ordered a highball, and for food, I got a plate of prosciutto, sand liver confit, and nachos! The prosciutto was a mix of two types. The sand liver might have been confit? It seemed a bit tough, like it was cooked too much. The nachos were great though! As I chatted happily, a dog came over. A dog?! Soon, what seemed to be the owner appeared. "Oh~ Sorry, sorry." A foreigner? They seemed to have been drinking at a nearby table and spoke Japanese fluently. Since it was a terrace seat, pets were allowed, which was nice. The dog here was friendly and cute, not barking at all. So adorable~(*´꒳`*)♡ The owner asked if it was okay for the dog to eat the sand liver, so I offered it to the dog, and it happily ate it, so cute~(*´꒳`*)♡ Later, the owner gave me a drink as a gesture. I felt a bit guilty, but I enjoyed it. I'm not sure if they were a regular customer, but they seemed like they come here often, so I feel like I might see them again if I come back. The terrace seating for drinks is the best, I've visited three times already! I'm posting a bunch of photos all at once ╰( ^o^)╮-=ニ= The daytime and nighttime breeze along the river feels amazing. They have a wide variety of drinks and the food menu is also great, so I'm happy. The terrace seating is pet-friendly. I wish more restaurants had terrace seating, that would be great!

After work, it's nice to have a quick drink at a place where you can just relax. Lately, with the longer daylight, it's great to be able to drink while it's still bright outside. The terrace seats are cool and the breeze feels amazing. This time, I had spicy potatoes and my colleague had an onion fry tower. It was so tall that when the waiter brought it over, it actually fell on the table! We just laughed and ate it as it was, without asking for a replacement.

I had some time to spare before my appointment, so I decided to have a quick drink here. It was quite crowded, and only outdoor seats were available despite the cold weather. I had a quick drink and left immediately because it was too cold. I'm glad I didn't order a pint. They have a good variety of beers, so it might be fun to have a few drinks here.

I occasionally visit this stylish and delicious restaurant with my coworkers. It's a self-service and self-payment system, so we don't have to worry about who pays. We place our orders at the entrance, and for dishes that take longer, they bring them to us with a number tag. The food has a strong and delicious flavor that goes well with alcohol. It's a great place to enjoy with coworkers!

Nakasu Kawabata is a British Pub called MORRIS' HIPPO in Hakata Riverain. This pub is popular among Western foreigners and has a very mature and calming atmosphere. Enjoying a bottled beer while looking at the scenery makes time pass by slowly and peacefully!

Paulaner's Lager and Mixed Nuts Paulaner are German beers. They are of the Hefeweizen type. I tried it for the first time and it was really good. Especially as it warms up, a thick banana-like aroma comes out strongly and it tastes delicious.

This is my first visit to a British pub for lunch. It seems that there are three branches in the area: 1st branch in Daimyo = RED FOX = red fox, 2nd branch in Daimyo = BLACK SHEEP = black sheep, and Hakata Riverain branch (this branch) = HIPPO = hippo, fox, goat? When I input "hippo" and convert it, it becomes "河馬" (hippopotamus) in kanji. I completely forgot about the English word "hippo"... Oh, this is a food review. The fried chicken was more crunchy than crispy, with a strong flavor and a good amount of garlic, making it perfect to order with beer. This place offers beers from around the world, so it's probably better to come at night. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant is located near the Nakasu Kawabata subway station in Hakata-ku, Fukuoka. It's perfect for a pre-dinner drink before a night out. The place is convenient and I sometimes stop by when dining in the area. They have counter seats, table seats, and a terrace. Due to COVID, the terrace is popular. The customers are mostly young and don't seem to be locals. I tried their craft beer this time, which was good. I usually go for their recommended local beer. For food, I had the sand liver confit, which was delicious. Once you try it, you'll be hooked. It's easy to make at home too. I would love to visit again when I have the chance. This restaurant is located right after leaving the Rinkai Line. In the past, Rinkai Line was known for its high-end dining options, but the image has changed over time. This restaurant offers surprisingly good value for the price. The half-pound hamburger plate costs 890 yen and comes with all-you-can-drink coffee. The hamburger itself is delicious. Connected to Nakasu Kawabata Station, there is a bar on the 1st floor of "Riverain". On this day, I ended up becoming a lunch refugee as my errands took longer than expected, and I arrived after 2:00 pm. I decided to try this place, even though it was past lunchtime. It had been a while since I last visited, but the interior of the restaurant seemed unchanged. - Lunch Menu: You order at the counter and pay there as well. I received my drink immediately, and the food was served in less than 10 minutes. - Chicken Karaage Plate with Drink (680 yen including tax) - The chicken karaage consisted of 4 large pieces. They were seasoned, but I enjoyed them more with the tartar sauce provided. The chicken was freshly fried and delicious. - The side salad had a slightly sweet dressing. - The quality of the rice was average. - You can choose your drink, so I opted for grapefruit juice. The portion was generous. In terms of portion size, it might not be satisfying for men, but it was just right for me.

Weekend. The rugby match in Fukuoka was over. However, the impact of rugby was huge, and the British pub was full of foreigners watching rugby. Even though it's only around 8 pm, the Heineken Grand Size draft beer was sold out, so they had to switch to bottled beer. Empty bottles and glasses piled up on the tables of the foreign customers nearby. When the replay of the Japan rugby match was shown on TV, more customers gathered. The foreigners took photos happily. It seems like this is how sports are enjoyed in a British pub. The atmosphere is perfect for enjoying drinks. After taking a break at Shirokuma Charo, I headed back out to the night in Nakasu. It's not often that I have the chance to come to Fukuoka, so I really want to make the most of it. The chosen restaurant was the British pub Morris Hippo Hakata Riverain branch. It's a nice pub with a terrace along the river. They were sold out of oolong tea. Can you believe a restaurant running out of oolong tea (laughs)? I ordered a gin and tonic, fish & chips, and Bismarck pizza. The fish was incredibly huge in portion. I couldn't believe it (laughs). This is not good. Adding pizza to this was too risky. The terrace seating here is really nice♪
