Since moving to Kitakyushu, I've been heavily influenced by Daio-sama and after two years, the titles on my food blog have lost all meaning. Who cares about titles anyway! Satoki. "Hokaoya" is a souvenir shop in Kokura Station, completely unrelated to Hodogaya. I completely overlooked it and happily went inside. I'll buy anything edible! Even coffee filters, breaking the rules. Turns out, I had completely misunderstood. I thought it was a cookie sandwich with chocolate or cream, but it was a prince sweet. Well, it's not bad though. They accept Suica.

There is a shop on the 1st floor of OPA in Kokura. They have a lot of souvenir items. The fugu bone senbei in the first picture was from about 15 years ago. Back then, it looked better than it does now, so I used to receive it as a Valentine's Day gift instead of chocolate. I remember receiving it from a girl I was close with at the time, who said, "I thought you might like this better than chocolate." But I would have preferred chocolate, to be honest (laughs). If I had received it, I would have displayed it on the household altar and worshipped it as a divine object. Memories are bittersweet. This time, I bought fugu fins. Of course, they are for making fins sake, but unlike the cheap ones sold at supermarkets, the ones sold here are thick and large. The fins sake turned out great! I have to say, if I ever feel like drinking fins sake in the future, I will definitely come here instead of going to the supermarket.

Amo Strawberry Chocolate Cookies. This is a Fukuoka exclusive. Plus, it uses Fukuoka-grown Amo strawberries. The box is bright red with a photo of real strawberries printed on it, making it super cute (*☻-☻*) It's also great that they are individually wrapped. Each cookie is 61 calories (´°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥ω°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥`)

There were various items for sale, such as Nagahama Ramen and Yasagahonoka cookies. On this day, I bought grilled udon, which is typical of Kokura. It was delicious with a sauce flavor. When I looked at the paper bag I received when purchasing, I found out that the headquarters is located in Otsu-cho, Kumamoto Prefecture, and they have stores in various locations in Kyushu and Yamaguchi.

I visited Fukuoka and did some shopping at Kokura Station. I found a cute corner on the first floor of Amu Plaza called "Hoga-ya Kokura Store" and decided to buy a souvenir for my daughter. I purchased the limited edition "Amaou" Milky for 540 yen. When I tried it, the already sweet Milky became even sweeter with the delicious sweetness of strawberries. It's a nice souvenir to bring back, especially since Fukuoka is known for Amaou strawberries.

That's my opinion.

I've been really into souvenir hunting lately, and I tried buying some souvenirs online that are being sold here. Just as the online reviews said, they were delicious, but they tasted similar to Mor** Seika's Pack** Cho. The strawberry cream was quite rich. It's tasty, but it's a flavor I've had before, so I might not buy it again.
