I wandered around the shopping street near Sekime Station on the Keihan line. I found a popular cake shop on Hanabaku Avenue and decided to buy some desserts after dinner.
- Fruit tart
- Smooth pudding
The fruit tart was filled with fruits like strawberries and kiwi, adding a nice touch of acidity. Although it was small, it had a satisfying taste, and the reasonable price was wallet-friendly. The contrast between the moist and fluffy cake base and the crispy tart was exquisite, offering a deliciousness not found in shortcakes.
The smooth pudding had a guaranteed custard taste, not too smooth but just the right firmness. If you have a family, you might want to reserve a whole cake, and they even included a Christmas cake flyer. They have a wide variety of options, and the roll cake looked delicious too. Thank you for the meal.

Located near the Keihan Sekime Station, just a short walk from the Sekime Guard intersection. Heading east from the intersection, past the entrance to the shopping street, you'll find this shop. The exterior exudes a strong Showa era vibe, making me wonder if I'll find the kind of cakes I want to eat here. Nonetheless, I decided to step inside. As soon as you enter, you'll see a glass display case, with the cake workshop in the back. Inside the case, there are classic cakes like Strawberry Shortcake, Mont Blanc, and Chocolate Cake (Sachertorte), reminiscent of the cake shops I used to visit with my parents as a child. The cakes are on the smaller side compared to those in department store food halls, and the prices are quite reasonable. I ended up purchasing the classic Strawberry Shortcake, Mont Blanc, Sachertorte, and an Apple Pie. The staff were very friendly and attentive. However, it was a bit inconvenient that they only accepted cash and not cards. When I got home and tried the cakes, the Strawberry Shortcake had slightly sour strawberries but delicious sponge cake and chantilly cream. The Mont Blanc had a nostalgic yellow cream that wasn't too sweet and quite tasty. Considering the price, the cakes were satisfying in terms of portion size and taste. I might find myself buying from this shop occasionally when passing by.

(^_^) As shown in the photo, there were refreshing summer desserts lined up. From left to right, there are mango and pineapple, grapes, dekopon and kiwi, white peach and cranberry. Each dessert consists of three layers of clear jelly, white mousse, and fruit sauce topped with fruits. The apple pie is a bit on the pricier side at over 300 yen, but it's quite large and delicious with its sweet jam, apples, and crispy crust. I also included a photo of it cut in half. The classic New York cheesecake and chocolate cake are also quite tasty. The chocolate in this chocolate cake is as rich as the Sachertorte from Ikari Super.

I felt like eating delicious sweets. Where should I buy them? Hmm... Maybe I'll go to Genre Plan nearby. It's close from here. Let's walk there. As usual, I walked there step by step. When I entered the shop, there it was. My favorite cream puff. The ones here are so delicious. I love them. I have to eat two. And I also got a pudding. Let's save it for tomorrow's dessert. The pudding here is also amazing. It's so delicious!! I was very satisfied with the delicious cream puffs and pudding.

In December 2015, I visited a cake shop that is essential for Christmas. The atmosphere was different from usual, with many saleswomen behind the counter. As I looked at the cakes in the showcase, a woman said, "The Strawberry Short Special is 700 yen excluding tax." This is in Kita Ward, Joto Ward, not Umeda or Shinchi. The train line has changed significantly since the store first opened. Once it gets this expensive, I won't buy it. I can't buy it anymore. It's a shame that I used to think this was a good store.
In August 2011, I visited a shop in Miyakojima Ward, Joto Ward, and Tsurumi Ward, and found a shop that perfectly matched my taste. The shop is located a 3-minute walk from Sekime Station on the Keihan Electric Railway. My first encounter was with Sekime Custard. At that time, it was a 100 yen cream puff, but the size was large, the amount of custard was generous, and the taste was unique. As time passed, it seems difficult to sell at this price now, as the size has shrunk and the price has increased. This time, I felt like having a tart, so I chose Peach Tart and Cheese Delight. The tart was perfectly sweetened and tasted great. The Cheese Delight had soft cheesecake with raisins, and it was delicious too.

The cakes look really delicious (*⌒―⌒*) and the prices are reasonable. We shared them among a few people (´꒳`*)乂(*´▽`)ノ
- Fruit Jelly: 357 yen
- The fruit is delicious (*≧ω≦*)
- Cheesecake Mousse: 200 yen
- This one is just delicious \(*^▽^*)/
- Apple Pie: 294 yen
- The pie is crispy (ノ*^▽^*)ノ, the apples are crunchy...
- Blueberry: 336 yen
- The blueberries are delicious ((ヾ(≧∇≦)〃)), but the whipped cream is not good (´ω`*)
Overall, the cakes are reasonably priced, but the taste doesn't always match the appearance. The fruit cakes are recommended for their delicious fruit, but it's better to avoid the sweet and mushy whipped cream (´ω`*) Just for your reference (*´U`*)...

JAN RUPURAN Sekime store. It is said to be a shop of Mr. Miyake, a famous patissier. I often pass by my mother's house nearby, and since it has a good reputation for being delicious, I decided to go and buy some. The back of the store is a workshop, with several craftsmen working busily. And it's no wonder, with the constant flow of customers, the busyness is understandable. Even though it's in a residential area, the customers keep coming. Wait, what day is it today? Hinamatsuri? It feels like that. (It's just a normal Sunday.) I had a strawberry cake, and it wasn't too sweet, which was delicious. The sourness and sweetness of the strawberries combined with the cream were just right. It's a shop I'd like to use for souvenirs.

My father bought this cake for my birthday. I knew about this shop but it was a bit far from home so I couldn't go. The cake looked delicious and tasted great, not too sweet! Even if you close your eyes and eat the fig, you won't know what it is, but it looks amazing! The white cream and yellow custard cream were both elegant in taste. I think it would make a great gift. If I have the chance, I would like to visit the shop myself and try different types of cakes.

I received this baked snack as a souvenir before, and the madeleine cake was moist with just the right amount of sweetness, and the cookies were crispy and delicious. So when I recently had the opportunity to visit nearby, I decided to try their fresh sweets as well. The shop was small, with enough space for about 10 customers. It was a Saturday afternoon, so it was quite crowded, with many people buying birthday cakes. I wasn't sure what to get, so I asked for recommendations and ended up ordering a fresh pie and the Classic Chocolat cake. The Classic Chocolat cake was a rich chocolate cake with plenty of whipped cream on top. It was not too sweet, easy to eat, and satisfying with just one slice. The fresh pie looked like a strawberry shortcake at first glance, but when I tried it, it was like a roll cake with whipped cream in the middle, topped with strawberries and surrounded by pie crust pieces. It had four strawberries and plenty of cream, but it wasn't too heavy, and the texture of the pie was enjoyable. I thought it was definitely worth recommending, especially since it was priced in the 300 yen range. If I'm nearby again, I might buy it again.

I know there are other shops, but I always end up buying cakes here. The cakes here look voluminous and beautiful, making them seem delicious. Sometimes they are not too sweet or the strawberries are not fully ripe, but considering the price, it's worth it. The cakes look luxurious, making them perfect for gifts. I usually stop by a chain coffee shop nearby as well. I can't really tell which one is exceptionally delicious, but that's the kind of cake shop it is.

While strolling through the shopping street, I came across a cake shop. The name seemed familiar, and it turned out to be the same shop I had read about on a food blog. I decided to try their cream puffs. Here's what I purchased:
- Cream Puff: The custard inside was overflowing when I split the crispy shell open. It was delicious and I felt happy eating it.
- Sachertorte: Layers of chocolate cream and sponge cake with a hint of almonds on top. The sponge was moist and had a subtle taste of alcohol.
- Lemon Tart: The meringue was crispy on the outside and slightly gooey inside. The lemon cream was refreshing and I loved it.
- Chef's Roll: A roll with a generous amount of egg-rich dough, cream, and nuts. The balance of flavors was great.
Overall, the desserts were delightful, especially the cream puffs. I rated them 4.5 out of 5. I would definitely go back for more cream puffs in the future. Thank you for the delicious treats!

The cheesecake here is delicious, but my favorite is the apple pie. It's big and has a satisfying taste (although it can be a bit challenging to eat without making a mess). The cream puffs are also delicious with a generous amount of cream. The gift wrapping is very elaborate and changes with the seasons, making it perfect for souvenirs. While they are wrapping up your purchase, they sometimes offer samples and occasionally include a broken cookie as a bonus, which is a nice touch. The almond roll has been a classic here even before the trend of roll cakes, and even men who don't like sweet things enjoy it. The Sekime store is takeout only, but the Tsukishima store has a cafe as well.

JAN RUPURAN CHEZ MIYAKE, with its main store in Miyakojima. The main store offers takeout only, although there is also an option to dine in. In addition to cakes, they offer a variety of baked goods with cute packaging, making them great for gifts. I had never tried their baked goods before, but I bought some with round nuts and white sugar powder on top, wrapped in adorable packaging. I got some for my friends as gifts and some for myself. As for the taste...hmm, it was just okay. I was expecting more nuts and a crispy texture similar to Stella's cookies, so it was a bit underwhelming. It tasted like a regular cookie.

It is a popular takeout-only shop with always a lot of customers. Located right by the Keihan Sekime Station, this shop is a local favorite in the shopping street. It may be small, but the taste is really delicious. They have a variety of cakes, but the most delicious one is the "Cheese Delight". This cheese, which is also the shop's signature, is a great gift when boxed up to take home. The small amount of raisins at the bottom adds a nice touch to the flavor and it's super tasty. This is always my go-to item for bringing as a gift to my friends' homes.

I bought a cake from a popular cake shop as a souvenir, but their cream puffs are also popular and huge! The choux pastry is moist and thick, giving a satisfying bite. The cream is only custard, and it feels like it's packed with cream more than any other cream puff I've had before. The cream has a strong egg flavor and is not too sweet, making it easy to eat. Be careful, as the cream overflows when you take a bite. Personally, I prefer it a bit sweeter.
