I stopped by before going sightseeing in Dazaifu. When I turned into a side street from the main street, there were shops, and it was less crowded than the shops along the main street, but there was a wait for about 5 groups during lunchtime on a weekday. I ordered the oyakodon. The seasoning was strong, and the chicken was a bit tough. The texture was good, but personally, I prefer the chicken to be a bit softer. However, overall it was delicious.

When I visited Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine in Fukuoka, I stopped by for lunch. Despite it being a weekday, there were quite a few visitors, possibly due to COVID-19 restrictions easing. I decided to try the soba at Namiman, a restaurant with the word "shokudo" (dining hall) in its name. I had planned to have their soba from the beginning, but after seeing the number of visitors, I decided to go earlier, which turned out to be a good choice. I arrived right at opening time and was able to be seated immediately, but soon there was a waiting line. This time, I had the zaru soba and kitsune soba. Despite the slightly higher prices for a dining hall, the soba was delicious. I particularly liked the lightly seasoned broth. It reaffirmed my preference for a refreshing broth with zaru soba.

I arrived at the restaurant in the early afternoon and it was full inside. I wrote my name down and waited in line. It took about 30 minutes until I was seated. Even though my name was called while I was a bit far away, they still let me in a few groups later. I ordered the warm shrimp tempura soba and it was delicious! It was worth the wait.

A restaurant located on the approach to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. I had the parent and child bowl (¥990) and two kashiwa onigiri (¥330). The parent and child bowl had a rich flavor with egg over rice topped with egg yolk. The chicken meat was tender and delicious. The kashiwa onigiri was made with burdock and sweet and savory chicken, highly recommended. The restaurant is a bit hidden off the main path, so it can be a bit hard to find. It was crowded at lunchtime, so be prepared to wait. I received a 5 yen coin on my way out, hoping for good luck.

We visited Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine and heard about the popular matchmaking restaurant Soba Namimaru. We waited for about an hour to get in, but it was worth it. I had the Tempura Soba for 800 yen, and my wife had the Ebi Tempura Soba for 1,300 yen. The food was delicious.

The reviewer found the chicken to be crispy and firm, but personally felt it was all crispy. The fluffy egg was delicious. The soba noodles had a great texture and were very tasty. Sprinkling salt on them allowed the flavor of the soba to come through well.

I had a parent and child bowl. The taste is quite strong. It's so strong that it makes you want to drink something. I personally prefer it a bit lighter. I'm not a big fan of pickles. The appearance is impressive, but the location is a bit hard to find. It seems like a place of destiny, as there were things related to destiny around. When paying the bill, I received a 5 yen coin as a symbol of destiny.

While wandering around during my trip to Hakata, I stumbled upon a charming restaurant known for its delicious oyakodon. The place had a lot of character and seemed quite old-fashioned, which I liked. I started with a glass of draft beer and a mixed tempura platter to satisfy my thirst and hunger, then ordered the famous oyakodon. Perhaps because I was already full, I didn't find it particularly impressive after finishing it. Next time, I'll stick to just the oyakodon.

We shared the tororo zaru soba and oyakodon at a hidden gem-like shop in the alley. I also wanted to try the kashiwa musubi, but unfortunately it was sold out. The soba had a great aroma and a smooth texture, it was incredibly delicious. The dipping sauce was also tasty, I couldn't stop eating until it was finished. The oyakodon was good, although I may have had high expectations. The interior had a traditional Japanese style, making it a great place for a date.

Today, I visited the Kyushu National Museum in Dazaifu for the final week of the Hokusai exhibition. I decided to have a light lunch at a restaurant along the Sandou street, and I was drawn to the soba and oyakodon at "Enmusubi Shokudo Soba Namimatsu" restaurant. The location was a bit hidden, set back from the main street, but the atmosphere was nice and calming. Despite it being a holiday and somewhat crowded, I managed to get a table without waiting. The interior was dimly lit with a traditional Japanese house feel. I ordered the oyakodon for 900 yen, while my wife opted for the kitsune soba for 880 yen, which was light and satisfying. The oyakodon arrived after a 10-minute wait, and although it didn't have the visual impact I expected with a large egg yolk in the center, it was still delicious. It had two types of chicken meat - one with a slightly chewy texture and the other more tender. The broth was a bit on the spicy side, but overall it was tasty. My wife enjoyed her kitsune soba, which came with three pieces of fried tofu, providing a good amount of filling. The prices were a bit high, but considering the location near a tourist spot, it seemed reasonable. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

【Restaurant】A soba restaurant in Dazaifu that renovated an old folk house. It has a charming retro atmosphere, making it a lovely place to dine. It seems to be quite popular as I visited on a holiday around 12 o'clock and had to wait for about an hour after signing in. 【Food】 - Tempura soba (¥1,760) Many people were ordering this dish, so I decided to try it as well. The soba had a sweet taste with every bite. The tempura had a thin, crispy coating and was freshly fried, not greasy at all, and very delicious.

I visited around 11:30 and it was already crowded due to the holiday. The interior of the restaurant is in a traditional Japanese house style, creating a calm and cozy atmosphere. The dish had eggs on top of eggs, and it was delicious with a slightly sweet sauce over rice. At the checkout, I received a 5 yen coin as a token of good luck. As I left after eating, there was a line forming outside. I highly recommend this place.

I finally had the chance to visit this soba restaurant that I've been curious about for a while. I heard it gets crowded quickly, so I arrived 15 minutes before opening. By the time they opened, there were about 6 groups waiting behind me. The atmosphere is nice. Although I heard the parent and child rice bowl is delicious, I didn't feel like eating something heavy in this heat, so I opted for soba instead. The broth was rich, and the soba had a strong flavor and a texture that didn't seem like it was made from 80% buckwheat flour. The staff were also very friendly. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

I stopped by this restaurant after visiting Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine and finding it on Tabelog. It is truly a hidden gem with a great atmosphere inside. There are both tatami and table seating options, all neatly arranged. I ordered the Maruten Soba (hot) for 880 yen and the Oyakodon for 990 yen, but I felt they were slightly overpriced due to being in a tourist area. The soba had a rich soup that was very delicious. The Oyakodon had a silky scrambled egg with a generous amount of raw egg yolk on top, also very tasty. However, the chicken in the dish was too tough. It made me wonder if they used cheap chicken. Overall, it was a satisfying lunch, but I wouldn't say it's a must-visit place. If asked if I would visit again, I would consider it in a few years.

Located in the back streets of the approach to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, this small, traditional restaurant is often crowded during lunchtime due to its proximity to a tourist spot. The parent and child bowl is richly flavored with a generous amount of egg yolk, making it delicious. The portion size is not too large, so even women should be able to finish it. On your way out, they give you a 5 yen coin with the wish "May you have good connections." With a name like "Namimatsu," which means "matchmaking," this restaurant is also recommended for dates. Wishing everyone good connections! ✨

Visiting Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine for New Year's prayers is great, but deciding on where to have lunch afterwards is always a dilemma. The nearby dining options either offer regular cafeteria menus at high prices, or delicious food at even higher prices. I wanted a calm atmosphere with a Japanese touch, not the usual ramen or Chinese food that I love but always go to. After researching various options the day before, I found a promising restaurant. I suggested it to my wife and kids, and they immediately agreed. We decided to go to the shrine first around 10 am to avoid the crowded parking lot and approach to the shrine. We finished our prayers smoothly and then headed to the restaurant just a short walk from the shrine. We arrived 10 minutes before opening and were the 5th group in line to be seated, which was lucky. The restaurant had a traditional Japanese atmosphere, and the outside crowd seemed like a distant memory. We quickly ordered: I had cold soba noodles, my wife had oyakodon (chicken and egg rice bowl), my son had a large portion of cold soba noodles with oyakodon, and my daughter had warm soba noodles with grated mountain yam topping. The warm soba noodles had various topping options, and the prices varied depending on the original menu and toppings. The restaurant staff recommended starting with a pinch of salt for the first bite of cold soba noodles, which was a nice touch. The soba noodles had a distinct color and a strong flavor, with a firm texture that released a delightful aroma as you chewed. The dipping sauce was flavorful, complementing the soba noodles perfectly. The oyakodon, a popular dish, was indeed delicious. The slightly spicy sauce paired well with the egg, chicken, and rice, creating a perfect balance of flavors. We all enjoyed our meals, and although we were reluctant to leave, we promised to try the kashiwa onigiri (oak leaf wrapped rice balls) as a side dish next time we visit.

I stopped by a quiet little shop a bit off the main path on my way back from visiting Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. It was almost noon on a Sunday, so the place was just filled up. I asked how long the wait would be, and they said there was space available at the small counter. I ordered the popular oyakodon and also some zaru soba, which looked small in the photos. The zaru soba was delicious. The oyakodon had more volume than I expected, but personally, I found the saltiness to be too strong and the chicken to be too tough. The staff at the restaurant were kind and the atmosphere was nice.

It was located a little off the approach to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. I found it quickly because there was a sign. It was a retro-style soba and udon restaurant that also served oyakodon. They accepted PayPay and LINE Pay. The texture of the grated yam on the cold soba was strong and it adhered well to the noodles. I first tried the soba with just salt seasoning to savor the flavor. It was a new experience for me. Then I dipped it in the sauce with wasabi and green onions. It tasted richer after eating it with salt. After paying, I received a lucky 5 yen coin.

I searched to eat soba in Dazaifu and found this place. It was a bit hard to find as it's not facing the main street, but turning down a side street gave it a hidden gem vibe, which was nice. The place looks stylish with retro signs on a renovated old house. I ordered the famous oyakodon and grated soba based on reviews. The grated daikon had a nice texture being a bit coarse, and it was good with salt. The oyakodon with the yolk on top was really delicious. They accept PayPay. There is a matchmaking well in front, which is an interesting service to receive a good match. I want to try the tempura soba next time.

I visited the matchmaking restaurant Soba Namimaru near Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. The restaurant is located a little off the main street leading from Dazaifu Station to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, in a building that is about 100 years old with a traditional atmosphere. The soba noodles were delicious, and the oyakodon (chicken and egg rice bowl) was exquisite. It contained different parts of chicken, including a crunchy part, and you can enjoy changing the taste by breaking the egg. It is a must-try for oyakodon lovers. The soba noodles were also tasty and paired well with the rich oyakodon. I waited for about an hour, but it was not a problem. It may be difficult for first-time visitors to find the location, but it is definitely a restaurant worth stopping by when visiting Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine.
