I came to this knife-cut noodle restaurant that I had seen here and there on SNS. It is said to be an authentic Chinese restaurant from Heilongjiang Province, so I came as soon as it opened. There is a parking lot in front of the store where you can park two cars at the last minute, but it's difficult for larger cars. There is also a vending machine for insect food in front of the store. The lunch menu is somewhat fixed, but I saw the orthodox knife-cut noodle lunch for 1000 yen. While waiting, I could hear the pleasant sound of the robot in the kitchen handling the noodles. It was brought to me in about 10 minutes. The side dishes seem to vary depending on the day, and it seems that side dishes sold in the showcase in the store are included. First, the soup... Yes! It's quite spicy. The knife-cut noodles are chewy and delicious. It's spicy but stimulates the appetite. The side dishes are unusual and have the authentic Chinese seasoning. I've never seen finely sliced tofu like this before! As I ate, sweat started to pour out. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

SNS famous restaurant. The reason is that the robot that shaves knife-cut noodles is so impactful. Because it's a robot, it just shaves them expressionlessly and mechanically. It's so interesting. I wonder why they chose that face for it?? I was just curious to see the robot, didn't expect much from the taste, but it was surprisingly delicious!!!! I ordered the knife-cut noodle lunch for 1,000 yen. It came with 300g of knife-cut noodles, rice, and two side dishes. You can opt for no rice and get a large portion of noodles instead. The side dishes were authentic and had ingredients I didn't recognize, probably tofu skin and tripe among others, about 4 items. They were mostly sweet and spicy. The soup for the knife-cut noodles was quite spicy. It had a spicy kick that made my throat tingle. But it was really delicious. It's completely different from Japanese-style Chinese food. I liked the unique texture of the noodles as well. The rice went well with it. It felt like authentic home-cooked food, like a local Chinese restaurant. I got hooked, so I'll definitely visit again.

The parking lot at the lunch place is small but available. I ordered a regular size of cold noodles and a small size of knife-cut noodles. The cold noodles have very long noodles that are clumped together, so you need to cut them with scissors before eating. Unlike the firm noodles you would find at a yakiniku restaurant, these noodles are soft and more similar to somen noodles. The soup is not spicy at all, making it easy to eat. The knife-cut noodles have a curry-like spice and a delicious spicy flavor. It starts off tasty but gradually becomes spicier, so be cautious if you are not a fan of spicy food.

My colleague recommended this place, so I decided to go even though it's a bit far from Hakata Station. I arrived at 11:45 AM and there was a long line... It seems like I've been waiting in line for my entire business trip in Hakata. Since I was already there, I had to wait. There were a lot of solo customers, and there were only tables for 4 people with no shared seating, so the line was not moving quickly. In the meantime, many customers were getting takeout dishes. Finally, I got a seat. I ordered the knife-cut noodle lunch. It seemed to retain the taste of Heilongjiang Province, and the flavor was unique and delicious. It was my first time trying knife-cut noodles, and they had a texture similar to wontons. Sometimes I choked a bit while slurping the noodles. The machine used to make the knife-cut noodles was too intimidating for me to take a picture... The staff and customers were speaking Chinese, so it felt like I was experiencing a taste of China.

When driving on the back roads of the urban area, I came across a shop that caught my attention. I wasn't sure if it was open or closed, but there was a vending machine outside selling "edible insects"! Quite a unique vending machine! I decided to check it out and was greeted by a lively female staff member who asked about my nationality right away. I introduced myself and was welcomed inside the shop. The first thing I noticed was the showcase of side dishes. I thought it was a deli, but I saw another customer slurping noodles at a table, so I headed to a seat at the back. The shop turned out to have high-tech noodle-making staff, which was quite surprising! I ordered the hand-pulled noodle lunch set for 1000 yen and discovered that the shop was called "Torinishi Daireimen". The small side dishes were served ala carte, and on that day, I got shredded potato salad, finely chopped meat and zasai salad, spicy minced tofu, and fried tofu. The hand-pulled noodles were made right in front of me, and the dish was served with a flavorful broth and plenty of ingredients. It was delicious, with a good balance of flavors and a satisfying amount of toppings. The side dishes were also tasty, especially the crunchy minced meat and the unique fried tofu. Overall, it was a great meal, but the strong flavors of the hand-pulled noodles made the overall saltiness a bit overwhelming. It would be nice to have a set with just side dishes and rice. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the delicious hand-pulled noodles and unique side dishes. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely visit again.

"I visited to satisfy my craving for 'Negi Abura Toso Men' priced at 780 yen and 'Yaki Gyoza'. The fragrant Negi oil on the Toso Men was delightful. With the first sip of the soup, I couldn't help but exclaim 'Wow!' The chewy and firm noodles, bouncy squid and shrimp balls, and the optional fragrant coriander sprinkled on top were a treat. The large gyoza had a chewy skin, filled with plenty of chives and filling, and was refreshing with black vinegar and chili oil. Both the Toso Men and gyoza were delicious! I will definitely visit again! Thank you for the meal!"

I saw a post about this restaurant on Instagram and had been wanting to go for a while. Finally, after a few months, I was able to visit. I ordered the cold noodles, but the texture of the noodles was too rubbery for my liking.

After visiting colleagues and clients at a company, I suddenly felt like eating knife-cut noodles and vaguely remembered a restaurant near Meijima that serves them. I searched on Google and found a place that serves knife-cut noodles in the Meijima area where I have been exploring for lunch recently. I discovered "Torisai Daireimen" tucked away near Meijima Athletic Park while driving towards Fukuoka City on the left side of Fukuoka Urban Expressway Kaizuka Line. Initially, I only saw a udon shop and parked my car in a nearby coin parking lot. After a thorough search, I found "Torisai Daireimen" a bit further back. I entered the restaurant and was greeted by a variety of Chinese-style side dishes in a refrigerated case on the left. The decorations and posters on the wall added to the authentic atmosphere. In the kitchen, there was a robot that looked a bit intimidating cutting noodles from a lump of kneaded wheat flour. I ordered the "Knife-cut Noodle Lunch" for 950 yen, despite being warned by a Chinese staff member that it was a bit spicy. The lunch set seemed to be limited to weekdays. The knife-cut noodle robot started working, and the "Knife-cut Noodle Lunch" arrived in about 10 minutes. It consisted of spicy knife-cut noodles, two Chinese side dishes, and rice. The side dishes included shredded potatoes salad, konjac with sesame oil, and stir-fried dried tofu and pig's ear. The meal was more filling than expected. I took a bite of the main dish, the knife-cut noodles, and indeed, they were spicy. However, it was not overwhelmingly spicy, and with caution, it was enjoyable without causing any problems. The noodles, made by the robot, had a chewy texture characteristic of knife-cut noodles. Eating the side dishes in between helped balance out the spiciness. The restaurant was almost full, with a high proportion of Chinese customers, likely regulars. The staff also spoke Chinese, giving the feeling of an authentic Chinese restaurant. Despite the novelty of the knife-cut noodle robot, the taste was authentic, and the side dishes were delicious, making it a surprising discovery. Thank you for the meal.

The other day, I saw a video on TikTok of a machine (humanoid) cutting noodles. When I looked into it, I found out it was from "Chicken West Cold Noodles"! I decided to go check it out. There is a paid parking lot near the restaurant, so you can also go by car. Inside the restaurant, there are five 4-person table seats! In the back, there is that humanoid machine I saw in the video. I looked at the menu and ordered the knife-cut noodles! The staff asked me if I was okay with cilantro, and I said yes. After a while, the humanoid machine was making the knife-cut noodles vigorously. And here comes the knife-cut noodles! The bright red soup warms you up just by looking at it. The noodles are chewy and really satisfying! The soup, which seems to contain many Chinese herbs, warms up your body with just a few sips. I recommend it to those who want to eat knife-cut noodles (^^)

A bowl full of pig ears. "Jisei Daikengmen" in Meijima. Located along the urban expressway in Meijima, this Chinese restaurant "Jisei Daikengmen" is a bit hidden at the entrance. The interior has a very Chinese atmosphere, with Chinese conversations going on and giving a feeling of being in a Shanghai neighborhood. I had a draft beer and chose an appetizer from the Chinese side dishes near the entrance. They only had pig ear salad left, so they kindly served me a half portion for 440 yen. It was crunchy. The total bill was 940 yen. A nice place for a casual drink. Restaurant Information: Jisei Daikengmen, 3-29-13 Meijima, Higashi-ku, Fukuoka City. Opening hours: 11:00-21:00, closed on Mondays.

I was craving knife-cut noodles so I searched everywhere and finally found this restaurant. I was excited to see they had a noodle cutting machine, and when I tried the noodles, they were delicious! The most popular dish is the super spicy knife-cut noodles, but if you don't like spicy food, they also have a sweet knife-cut noodles in onion soup base, both of which are tasty, it just depends on your preference. The noodles are on the softer side. They also sell side dishes in the restaurant, and at the entrance, there is a vending machine that sells edible insects... It's a bit quirky, but the atmosphere is great with regular customers chatting with the staff in different languages, making you feel like you're traveling in Asia. Definitely worth a try.

Named Island is known as one of the top noodle spots in the Higashi Ward. There are various ramen shops, and even regular diners serving ramen. It's been a while, so I'm not sure if the diner is still open... Was there such a place? From Jōhama Danchi towards Meishima Ramp, just past the Seven-Eleven on the left side. It was just before noon on Sunday, so I was the only one there. Since it's a knife-cut noodle shop, I decided to go with the knife-cut noodles... There was an option with scallion oil, so I chose that. "Would you like cilantro on top?" asked the staff. I'm not a fan, so I asked for it without. Lunch sets are also available, but only on weekdays. There was a knife-cut noodle machine in the shop, which was quite amusing. The mannequin's face was eerie, but I almost burst out laughing. The noodles were prepared after ordering, so the sound of the machine echoed. It arrived in about 10 minutes. The soup looked quite rich, but surprisingly it was refreshing. There was a lot of scallion oil, so it's inevitable that there's a bit of oil left in the mouth. To offset that, cilantro or Chinese broccoli is added. The knife-cut noodles were chewy. They had a bit of a Hakata udon-like texture. But they had a good chewiness. There was ground fish paste in the middle as a topping. The soup was sweet, but the fish paste was even sweeter. It was a bit of a strange sensation. After finishing, the scent of scallions lingered in the mouth. After 12 o'clock, Chinese residents in the area started to arrive one after another. The staff were also communicating in Chinese. It must be the authentic taste.

I was planning to eat ramen, but I found a shop that serves knife-cut noodles and changed my plans to visit. The small shop was filled with the strong smell of spices, and the Chinese side dish corner near the entrance had a strong presence. What's more, the knife-cut noodle robot in the kitchen was quite impressive. I ordered the knife-cut noodles and looked at the side dishes. Just as I was eyeing the spicy beef tripe, here came the bright red knife-cut noodles. Spicy, sweet, delicious! I can handle spicy food pretty well, so I ate it normally, but I couldn't stop sweating. It was nice that they brought me a hair apron. After finishing it in one go, I took the spicy beef tripe to go and went home. I had it for dinner, and it was also very delicious. The dumplings looked delicious too, and I would like to share them with a few people and try various dishes. It was a great restaurant!

I wanted to eat knife-cut noodles so I went back to Kyonishi Daireimen where I had been before. The chewy and slippery noodles are my favorite and they were delicious! I forgot to take a photo, but there is a doll cutting noodles that will make you smile. Definitely check it out! ❤️

There is a horror-themed robot cutting ramen! I spent four years in China, and the taste is closer to Chinese cuisine rather than typical Chinese food, and it is delicious.
