There is a sushi restaurant in Momoya. The wonderful head chef, full of human warmth, is in charge. And you can enjoy a high-quality course at a surprisingly cost-effective price. Foie gras. Sea urchin. Eel and cucumber. Grilled oyster with bonito flakes. Norisore chawanmushi. Squid with shiitake mushrooms, with a sweet and creamy texture. Firm and punchy shari. The acidity and saltiness are gentle yet distinct. Small fish with a crispy and beautiful texture. Striped jack with a glossy smooth fat. Halibut, matured to enhance the aroma and sweetness. The texture is also adjusted to provide a chewy delight. Lean tuna with a strong flavor. The aroma is also strong. Medium fatty tuna with a refreshing fat. Red snapper fin, with a sharp and tangy flavor. Ark shell with a refreshing fragrance. Sweet shrimp with a dense sweetness. Seared golden eye snapper, with perfectly melting fat. Ark shell mantle, with a pleasantly heightened fragrance. Spot prawn, with a light and sweet flavor. Sea urchin. Crab meat. Conger eel, with a dense and melty texture. The aroma is also pleasantly toasty. Ume with tamago, with a refreshing aftertaste.

At the recommendation of a friend, we chose a sushi restaurant for our special day. We had a relaxing meal at the counter with my wife, enjoying dishes like foie gras, scallops, and large marinated tuna. Our bellies were full, and we also enjoyed some recommended Japanese sake. The pace was a bit fast, but overall we were satisfied. Thank you.

In Tennoji Ward, I made a reservation through BM after reading an article about a certain credit card company. The Edo-style sushi was delicious with a Kansai twist of sweet red vinegar. The eel appetizer and the shrimp and conger eel nigiri were served piping hot, and the knife skills were impressive. Surprisingly, the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food. (//∇//)

I visited this restaurant for the first time for my master's birthday dinner. From the reservation to the end, the service was very polite and I felt at ease. The timing of each dish from the appetizer to the sushi was wonderful! Every dish was delicious. Despite the number of dishes, I think the course was very reasonable. I would like to visit again.

I had been hearing rumors about this sushi restaurant in Momoya for a while. It's located in a residential area a short walk from Momoya Station. Since I don't usually go to Momoya, it feels fresh. The restaurant has only 8 seats at the counter, a bit small but clean and cozy. The chef is very nice. It starts with appetizers and then moves on to sushi. They serve classic appetizers like ankimo, sashimi, a big oyster stew, and scallops grilled with seaweed, typical of a sushi restaurant. Also, quietly, they served shishamo from Hokkaido, which made me happy as I love shishamo. The sushi has a perfect balance of vinegared rice and toppings, along with small bowls of various dishes so you don't get bored. I like trying different things besides the main dish, so I appreciate when there are some unique items on the menu. And the bill was truly surprising. Sushi restaurants are getting more and more expensive, but I can definitely come back here multiple times! I will visit again!

Located in Momodani, this sushi restaurant is frequented by the president of the most famous soy sauce ramen shop in Western Japan. The atmosphere, clientele, and dishes served are all very sophisticated, catering to an adult crowd. Even children and teenagers feel like they are stepping up their game here. The restaurant is easily accessible from the station: a 5-minute walk from Momodani Station (Exit 1), an 11-minute walk from Teradacho Station (North Exit), and a 15-minute walk from Tsuruhashi Station (Kintetsu East Exit). For inquiries, you can contact them at 06-6779-8823. The address is 4-2-20 Katsuyama, Tennoji-ku, Osaka City, in The White Residence 1F. It was my partner's birthday, so I took them to a sushi restaurant that we both love, "Koiki" in Momodani, Osaka. The omakase course has increased in price, starting from 10,000 yen to 15,000 yen. The chef is very reliable as he informed us about the price increase when we made the reservation. Despite his stern appearance, the chef is actually a kind person. We started with a toast with Sapporo Red Star beer to celebrate the birthday. December is a great season for seafood, and we enjoyed a variety of dishes like oysters, bonito sashimi, salt-grilled kamasu, scallops with nori, and steamed shirako. The sushi course included squid, flounder, pickled fish, fatty tuna, kawahagi with liver, sweet shrimp, snow crab, and more. The highlight of the meal was the sweet shrimp, snow crab, and sea eel. We also enjoyed a selection of sake from Tohoku, such as Jouzen Mizunogotoshi from Yamagata, Hakurakusei from Miyagi, Suminoe from Miyagi, and Bakuren from Yamagata. The night ended with a mouthwatering dessert of "noshi ume" pickled plum. It was a delightful and satisfying dining experience.

I went to a sushi restaurant called "Koiki" that my partner reserved for my birthday at the end of the year. It used to be located in Shitennoji Temple a few years ago and then moved to Momodani. The place is not very well known yet, but it seems to be a hidden gem where hospital staff often visit due to its location. When I mentioned the reservation name, I was guided to a seat at the end of the counter. My partner seemed very familiar with the place, having been there many times before. We started with some appetizers and then moved on to nigiri sushi. The food was delicious and the sake was flowing. The balance between the appetizers and the sushi was excellent, and the quality of the ingredients was top-notch. The restaurant pays attention to detail and the flavors were amazing. Overall, it was a fantastic birthday celebration, and I would love to visit this place again. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

This is my first visit to "Koiki". I heard about "Koiki" a few years ago, and I tried to make a reservation a few times, but it never worked out. "Koiki" ended up moving to a new location, which wasn't too far, but I never got around to visiting because it was unfamiliar territory for me. This time, a classmate made a reservation for me, and I finally had the chance to visit "Koiki". The weather on the day of the reservation was rainy, so I took a taxi from home to the restaurant. Ironically, the rain stopped by the time I arrived, so I could have used the taxi fare to enjoy more sake. I got off the taxi at the Katsuyama 4 intersection and headed towards "Koiki". The entrance of the restaurant was small but elegant, with a high-class feel. The bicycles parked in front of the entrance added a nice touch to the atmosphere. Inside, the white wooden counter gave off a luxurious vibe, and the distance between the chef and the customers was quite close. I started the course with a toast of Sapporo Red Star beer with a classmate who had arrived before me. The first dish was flounder sashimi, a great start for those who love white fish. The second dish was seared scallop topped with sake lees. The texture of the scallop was perfect, with a nice balance of charred and tender flavors. Next, we had Hokkaido shishamo with grated daikon radish. It had been a while since I had real shishamo, and it was even more delicious than I remembered. The abalone simmered in its shell was a challenge to eat, but it was worth it for the taste. The oyster was creamy and delightful. The bonito was a long-awaited treat for me, and it paired perfectly with the sake. Then, the sushi course began with squid, followed by kelp-cured sardine. The grilled throat blackfish in a small bowl was a unique and tasty dish. The tuna, fatty tuna, and horse mackerel sushi were all exceptional. The striped jack was meaty and flavorful. The sea urchin was fresh and delicious, and the sweet shrimp was a delight. The spotted sardine was rich and satisfying. The sea urchin miso soup was a comforting end to the meal. The steamed abalone was tender and tasty. The grilled conger eel was crispy and fragrant, a personal favorite. The meal ended with egg sushi, which was subtly sweet. The bill came out to exactly 14,000 yen per person, which was surprisingly affordable for such high-quality sushi. This delicious sushi experience truly enriched my life.

The head chef is kind and the prices are wallet-friendly at this sushi restaurant that I visit regularly. It's enjoyable to exchange opinions with the head chef about the restaurant and ingredients. I always go with the chef's choice, including the sake. They put an extra touch on seasonal ingredients, making them delicious. Today, my only request is to roll up all the ingredients in the sushi. It was so delicious because we shared and had a lot to eat. Next time, I'll ask to reserve the entire restaurant.

I visited a while ago and I had been holding back, but I can't forget it so I decided to post about it. I visited with special feelings for a year-end party, but it was very disappointing. Interior: When sitting at a corner table, a draft kept blowing and it was uncomfortable. Sushi: If the sushi was good, I wouldn't say it's a shame. Whether it was mackerel or shellfish, the quality of work was very low. The mackerel was too salty, the shellfish smelled raw, and the tuna was full of sinews. The only thing that was delicious was the shrimp. Service: They had a sense of superiority and if they served good sushi, it would be fine, but when the food wasn't tasty, I almost voiced my dissatisfaction, but I held back because there were other customers around. I learned that the "Amakara Techo" (sweet and spicy guide) is not reliable. Please be careful.

I visited the restaurant "Koiki" in JR Momodani for the first time, which I had been wanting to try for a while. I called and made a reservation for 4 days later from 17:00 to 19:00 as they had availability. The omakase course included 5 dishes such as octopus and junsa's vinegar dish, oysters, steamed abalone, grilled mackerel, and bonito tataki, all of which were delicious and well-prepared. The nigiri sushi consisted of 14 pieces including sword squid, flounder, marinated tuna, medium fatty tuna, and more, all with a perfect balance of vinegar blend rice and high-quality ingredients. I also added a piece of true turban shell. The total bill came to 11,000 yen per person, which was reasonable for the quality of food. The atmosphere was great, and the friendly chef made the experience enjoyable. Overall, it was a satisfying and value-for-money sushi restaurant that I would definitely visit again.

They served quite a variety, so I left feeling satisfied with a full stomach.

Osaka Momodani Koiki-san's sushi research! The counter has 8 seats and the chef is like a monk. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very kind. The sushi rice had a slightly firm and fluffy impression with red vinegar. The chef frequently replaced the rice to maintain the temperature. Let's line up the dishes! - Omakase (Chef's choice) for 10,000 yen - Tsubugai (whelk) - Noresore and hotaruika (firefly squid) - Tatudachi grilled - Hotate seaweed - Natural Isagi from Bungo Strait - Crab chawanmushi (steamed egg custard) From here, the nigiri sushi: - Sayori (halfbeak) - Kensaki ika (swordtip squid) - Pickled katsuo (bonito) - Hirame (flounder) - Chu-toro (medium fatty tuna) - Kohada (gizzard shad) - Purple sea urchin from Oma (good aroma) - Hokkigai (surf clam) - Amaebi (sweet shrimp) - Kuruma ebi (Japanese tiger prawn) - Steamed awabi (abalone for about 3 hours) - Shime saba (vinegared mackerel) - Nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch) seared - Aji (horse mackerel) from Kyushu - Unagi (eel) lightly grilled, disappearing softly in the mouth - Tamago (egg) - Noshi ume (pickled plum) It was a very enjoyable experience! Thank you for the meal. Thank you!

I started using Tabelog from September 2018 and today is my 100th review☆彡(о´∀`о) I visited my favorite sushi restaurant "Koiki" in Momodani. Have you heard the phrase "kaogasasu" before? It's a Kyoto term that is commonly used in the Kansai region, meaning "to attract attention from people nearby" or "to feel awkward when meeting acquaintances." This sushi restaurant, in particular, always makes me feel "kaogasasu" because I often run into people I know here. The chef used to have a restaurant near Shitennoji Temple but decided to start fresh and opened this place last fall, just a 5-minute walk from Momodani Station. The restaurant is small with only counter seats, and the atmosphere is calm and elegant with a bright and clean design. The chef, although he may seem stern at first, is actually very kind, gentle, and a bit shy. He pays close attention to each customer and is a meticulous and dedicated craftsman. The sushi omakase course included Sapporo Lager Beer, scallops with salted fish roe, kawahagi, ankimo with Nara pickles, Hokkaido oysters, grilled salted salmon, bonito tataki, and more. The sushi selection featured black porgy, marinated tuna, swordtip squid, aged yellowtail, shimekohada, sabatro, and carabinero prawn. The sake served was Hakuraku Hoshi from Miyagi. The meal was simple yet meticulously prepared, with a perfect balance of flavors and textures. The chef's timing in serving each piece of sushi was impeccable, tailored to each customer's pace. It was a luxurious and delicious dining experience, and I feel grateful for being able to enjoy such exquisite sushi.

Koiki in Momotani is a really delicious sushi restaurant. It has good value for money and I can confidently recommend it. Despite not being a trendy spot, it is quite popular and getting a reservation can be difficult. The small sushi portions are great for eating a variety and are recommended for women as well.

As always, it was a reliably delicious meal! The careful preparation of the ingredients and lack of flashy presentation may not be showy, but I am always impressed by the quality of the ingredients and the meticulous preparation. The balance of the dishes is also wonderful! It was a night where I thought, "this is really delicious!"

On the evening of July 25, 2021, I visited this restaurant for the first time. It was my third visit overall, coming from the previous location. It had been 7 years and 5 months since my last visit. I had a great impression from my past visits, so I made a reservation to revisit after moving to Osaka. The head chef is Mr. Naritaka Hoshino. The restaurant used to be near Shitennoji-mae Yuhigaoka Station, but it moved to the current location in September 2017, about 800 meters east from the previous spot. They used to operate à la carte, but switched to an "omakase course" style after the move. The head chef wanted to focus on the "omakase" style, and he seemed very lively and passionate about it. The price for the course at the time of my visit was exactly 10,000 yen, which is quite reasonable for an omakase sushi restaurant in Osaka. The balance of price, taste, and portion size was excellent. In the area around Momodani, especially inside the loop line, there are not many prominent dining options, making this restaurant a hidden gem in Momodani. Unfortunately, it will be difficult for me to revisit after moving to Tokyo. It seems that the prices have changed since my visit, so if you plan to visit, it's best to check beforehand. [Items Served] - Sake: Akahoshi (small bottle) - Sake: 1 cup (forgot the brand) - Appetizers: Ankimo, Scallop with sake lees, Oyster with vinegar, Flounder with kelp, Grilled Hokkaido shishamo, Uni, Hairy crab - Sushi: Squid, Red snapper, Amberjack, Tuna, Toro, Kohada, Ishigaki shellfish, Sweet shrimp with kelp, Surf clam, Horse mackerel, Small bowl of blackthroat seaperch, Spot prawn, Uni, Conger eel, Tamagoyaki - Miso soup with seaweed and plum jelly Total bill: 13,000 yen [Visit Details] - Date & Time: July 25, 2021, 5:00 PM - 4 customers before me, 2 customers after me - All customers seemed like regulars - Dining time: 100 minutes [Location] - Nearest station: Momodani on the loop line - Inside the loop line (Tennoji Ward) - Area is mostly residential and offices, with few dining options nearby [Restaurant Details] - Counter seating for 8 - Welcoming entrance - Staff of 2 including the head chef - The head chef didn't remember me but treated all customers equally [Restroom] - Located at the back - Unisex restroom with Western-style toilet (LIXIL/INAX) - Provided hand soap, paper towels, and Biore U hand sanitizer [Memorable Moment] - Visited during the Tokyo Olympics. After finishing my meal, I arrived near Momodani Station and saw the live broadcast of the men's judo match, witnessing Naohisa Takato's gold medal moment, which was exhilarating. (June 23, 2023) Average rating: 3.97 from 32 reviews. 2 reviews from MyReviewer with an average rating of 3.17.
