Lunch at Yabaton in the basement of Namba's Shochikuza. Since Shochikuza is closed on this day, it's empty even during lunchtime. The Rib Tonkatsu Teppan Set for 2,210 yen with miso soup for an additional 150 yen is quite pricey. It's 200 grams so it's quite a generous portion.

Dotonbori is packed with tourists, but we were able to get in easily, probably because we visited later in the day. There were a lot of Uber orders coming in. The miso katsu was delicious, and the pork cutlet was tender. If the prices were a bit cheaper, it would be easier to visit more often.

"Hiretonkatsu set meal - Large 2300 yen
Natural jumbo shrimp fry - 1400 yen
Located in the basement of the Shochikuza theater. It was a weekday evening, so there were no other customers. I went there specifically for the black pork, but they were not serving it at the moment. I ordered the Nagoya specialty miso katsu and the shrimp fry. It arrived in about 10 minutes. The miso was not poured on top but served separately for you to pour yourself. It was warm miso, so enjoying it hot was a great experience! The miso was sweet and savory, with a rich flavor that paired perfectly with the rice! You could also get a refill of rice. The meat was cooked thoroughly, with a nice chewy texture and a crispy coating even with the miso on top. The shrimp fry, which may not look as big in the photos, had a great texture and was very satisfying to eat. You could fully enjoy the juicy shrimp with the tangy sweetness of the tartar sauce. It was great to be able to enjoy authentic miso katsu in Osaka! Thank you for the meal."

I always come back to this quiet restaurant where I can enjoy Nagoya specialties at my own pace. The authentic miso katsu with sweet miso sauce is irresistible! The rice and cabbage are free refills, so I can eat as much as I want. The staff are very attentive and made my dining experience enjoyable.

[Visit Date] Dinner on 2/10/2022
[Order] Premium Rib Teppan Tonkatsu Set with Green Onions
I wandered around Namba on this day. I was having trouble deciding on dinner, so I ended up at the familiar Yabaton. I've eaten at the main store in Nagoya before, and this is my second time at the Osaka branch. It seems like you can eat it anywhere now, so it's no longer novel. Perhaps due to the impact of the pandemic, there were zero other customers besides me. The taste was average, and the service was so-so. Thank you for the meal.

After a long time, I was wandering around Namba wondering where to have lunch, when suddenly I spotted a Yabaton restaurant. I was drawn in and entered. It was past 1 pm, so the restaurant was empty and they had good COVID-19 measures in place. I decided to go all out and ordered the Yabaton special, but it was so much food that I struggled to finish it. I didn't expect them to have apple pie... it was delicious so I made sure to eat it all. The miso katsu sauce was incredibly tasty! Even though this is Osaka, good food is good food no matter where you eat. The service from the staff was also excellent. Overall, it was a very satisfying weekday lunch.

I have visited Yabaton in Nagoya with the intention of supporting President Takumi Suzuki. It was my first experience visiting a Yabaton outside of Nagoya. The restaurant has expanded nationwide and globally under the leadership of the current president. Although the restaurant in Dotonbori seemed empty during my visit, the staff provided excellent service. I ordered the tenderloin and sirloin, along with large shrimp fry and additional oyster fry. The frying of the dishes was perfect, with a slight pink color in the center. The original miso sauce was also delicious. The tartar sauce for the shrimp fry and oyster fry seemed a bit weak in comparison. Overall, the meal was delicious and I appreciate the experience.

I tried the famous miso katsu from the renowned restaurant Yabaton in Nagoya, but in Osaka! The rich red miso sauce paired perfectly with the tonkatsu. I found a branch of the famous Yabaton in Osaka and ordered the miso katsu set meal. The crispy tonkatsu with the rich red miso sauce was delicious!

The miso pork cutlet set meal for 1500 yen is delicious. The miso sauce poured generously over the cutlet is incredibly tasty. It's also delicious when dipped in cabbage. The pork cutlet has just the right amount of fat, making it flavorful. You can get refills of cabbage and rice. I felt that it was even more delicious than when I had it in Nagoya.

Today, I went to Takashimaya in Namba to send a year-end gift. Of course, I had to have lunch somewhere, so I made a reservation at this restaurant registered on GoTo and visited. I had a bottle of beer and a premium 200g rib tonkatsu as a single item. My wife ordered the teppan hire tonkatsu set with less rice. When the food arrived, they poured miso sauce in front of us. They explained that sesame and mustard on the table go well with it. The red miso and sweet Haccho miso were delicious. The pork was thick but tender, making it easy to chew. We enjoyed the taste of Nagoya. I made a reservation through GoTo at this restaurant and used the points I had from my previous visit. The bill brought to the table had a "T" mark and the number 2000 written on it, so I was able to settle the remaining balance without showing my reservation confirmation on my phone. Thank you for the meal. It was a calm restaurant, so I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

Checked out of Best Western Hotel at 11 am and took a leisurely walk towards Namba. The weather is nice today. It's been a while since I walked through a shopping street at this time. For lunch, I tried the Nagoya specialty miso katsu at Yabaton Osaka Shochikuza store. They accept the electronic coupons from the regional common coupon of the Go To Travel campaign. I ordered the pork cutlet set meal. They topped it off with miso sauce at the end. It felt lighter than I expected, but the sauce was surprisingly delicious. My perception of miso katsu has changed. It was a nice experience!

When I went to Nagoya last month, the restaurant I was looking for was closed for renovations so I couldn't try their miso katsu. To make up for it, I visited the restaurant in Osaka for a GOTO dinner. It was 7:30 PM and there was only one other customer. The restaurant was quite empty as they were operating with shortened hours until 8:00 PM, which was the last order. Since it was my first time at Yabaton, I ordered the miso katsu donburi set, which seemed to be a popular choice. They mentioned that you could get extra rice and cabbage, but since it was dinner time, I tried to avoid eating too much rice and focused on eating the miso katsu with the cabbage. The miso sauce looked dark but wasn't too strong in flavor, so the katsu was tasty even on its own. The miso sauce didn't have any strong flavors, so I think it would be well-liked by everyone. The meat was tender and easy to cut with chopsticks. The side dish of doteni (pork offal stew) was also flavorful enough to eat without rice, and it didn't feel heavy when eaten with the miso katsu. In the end, I was able to enjoy the miso katsu on its own without relying too much on the cabbage, and the cabbage was delicious with the dressing. Looking at the leftover rice covered in sauce, I regretted not ordering half a portion of rice.

Abeno Harukas, Daimaru Shinsaibashi, and even Umeda Sanbangai have a store, and it feels like you can eat at any time. The well-known "Yabaton" has opened a store in Dotonbori during this season, which is really quiet, even the basement of the Shochikuza theater is empty. The restaurant also seemed really quiet. Despite this, I came to eat, but I was avoiding carbs at night, so I ordered the "Premium Rib Teppan Tonkatsu" (single item 1,500 yen). After being provided with a thick and solid cloth towel and paper apron, I waited for a while. The dish arrived with steam rising so much that the camera lens fogged up. The staff poured sauce (miso) over it to finish it off. A tonkatsu with quite a thickness and amount was served on a hot plate over shredded cabbage. The taste becomes miso-flavored, so the umami of the pork itself is blurred. But this sauce and cabbage really go well together. Since there was no rice, I finished it in no time. Thank you for the meal ( ̄ーΑ ̄)フキフキ I visited the main store in Nagoya only once, but I have to visit again to try the Waraji Katsu.

Yabaton, located in the basement of the Minami-za theater in Dotonbori, is a famous restaurant known for its miso katsu, a specialty of Nagoya. I ordered the mixed miso and regular sauce with the set meal, which comes with a choice of mixed barley and white rice with free refills. The slightly sweet and savory miso sauce, sprinkled with sesame and shichimi pepper, was just the right amount of deliciousness for me. I hope they open a Yabaton branch specializing in pork shabu-shabu in Nagoya as well, especially now that they have opened a new store in the renovated main building of Daimaru Shinsaibashi.

It was a bit quiet being on the basement floor of the building, even though it was Saturday afternoon. This is one of the charms of Yabaton! It's always empty because not many first-time visitors come. This time, I had the double sauce pork cutlet for 1600 yen! I've been wanting to eat tonkatsu since yesterday, so I didn't hesitate! It was so delicious. The barley rice was tasty too. If they also provided cold towels and ice water during the summer, it would definitely be a perfect 5 out of 5.

After watching a live performance with my daughter at Namba Hatch, we were thinking about where to eat on the way back. It was getting late, and we needed to hurry home to avoid getting scolded by my wife. Then I remembered there was Yabaton located under the Shochikuza theater. I asked my daughter if she was okay with having miso katsu, and she said yes. Since it was close to closing time, there were no other customers. The jumbo-sized tonkatsu with special miso sauce was delicious. The tonkatsu was tender, and the miso sauce was not overpowering. My daughter, who was trying miso katsu for the first time, said it was delicious. Yabaton never disappoints. It's great to be able to enjoy it in Osaka as well.

I will have tonkatsu in Namba. I didn't know there was also a Yabaton in Osaka. I found it while looking at Google Maps and decided to visit. It is located in the basement of Osaka Shochikuza. The interior has counter seats and table seats. I am dining alone, but since there are available seats, I am guided to a table seat. I ordered the Kagoshima black pork loin tonkatsu set meal. The Kagoshima black pork loin tonkatsu set meal costs 2400 yen. It is a tonkatsu with the loin cut open like a Kannon. It is not thick, more like double the size of a normal tonkatsu. Even two pieces of pork loin tonkatsu would be enough (laughs). You can enjoy it with tonkatsu sauce, miso katsu sauce, or salt. Rice is all-you-can-eat, but the rice served initially... is a bit too casual. It doesn't feel very trendy, and I wonder if it is influenced by the original Nagoya style. The black pork flavor is also faint, and I thought maybe the regular tonkatsu would have been better.

Today, I visited "Nagoya specialty miso katsu Yabaton Osaka Shochikuza store" in Minami for work. This place is known for serving Nagoya's famous miso katsu. I decided to try the "Rosu tonkatsu set meal ¥1,100" from the menu. The tonkatsu covered in miso sauce was delicious and different from eating it with sauce. The rich miso sauce goes perfectly with the tonkatsu. I quickly finished the large tonkatsu. They also have other options like Waraji tonkatsu and miso katsu don.

I wanted to eat miso katsu in Nagoya, and I finally got to try "Yabaton" which I had been wanting to visit, located in the basement of Osaka Shochikuza. I ordered the "Waraji Tonkatsu Set" for 1600 yen, with an additional 150 yen for miso soup. The total came to 1750 yen. I chose to have a mix of miso sauce and tonkatsu sauce for the sauce. The rice was also special, with a choice of "Tsuyahime" white rice and "Mochi barley rice", so I had the barley rice first and the Tsuyahime rice second. Overall, the price seemed a bit high, and the meat was just average, not the best. The katsu with miso sauce was as expected. The sauce was also average. The tonjiru soup for an additional 150 yen was also average. The white rice and mochi barley rice were delicious, but overall, the cost performance was not great.

Whenever I feel like eating delicious miso katsu from Nagoya, I always come here! I often order it on Uber too!! It's usually not too crowded, the restaurant is clean, and the taste is great. I have nothing to complain about. I will definitely go again!
