"KASUYA? Really? The Kitsune Kasu Udon was disappointing... The name of the restaurant is 'KASUYA' and they have 'Kitsune Kasu Udon' written in big letters on the sign, but there was hardly any 'katsu' in it. It was just a tiny bit. Have you ever complained about it? I've had Kitsune Kasu Udon at various places, but this is the first time I've been so disappointed. Will I go back? No way."

I took a long weekend off and decided to visit a restaurant that I had been curious about. I went there on Friday evening, not long after it opened, so I seemed to be one of the first customers of the day. I sat at the counter and looked at the menu. They had various types of udon such as curry udon and mentaiko butter udon, as well as a variety of toppings like eggplant tempura and shrimp tempura. They also had a good selection of drinks. Soon, my katsu udon arrived. It was a bit small in size, with plenty of meat on top. The udon noodles were not too firm, but not too soft either. The broth had a good amount of meat fat, allowing me to enjoy the true flavor of meat udon. Overall, it was a delicious and well-balanced udon. I look forward to trying their rice bowl menu next time. The katsu udon was 580 yen.

I visited around 4 am after finishing drinking. Today's finale was a set of Harami rice bowl and mini katsu udon for 980 yen. The Harami rice bowl had a light sauce and the Harami was juicy! The katsu udon had big pieces of katsu which were impressive and tasted delicious without any unpleasant smell. I would like to visit for lunch next time.

I have been to KASUYA, a udon brand operated by Global Kitchen that is also featured on their website. The atmosphere or something made the taste feel different compared to before. It's not that it wasn't delicious, but maybe it was because it was close to closing time. Even when comparing my own photos, the oil katsu udon I had at Hozoji still makes my mouth water (lol). I really love the oil katsu udon. Thank you for the meal.

I am a fan of kitsune udon. I also like Donbei kitsune udon. Although katsu udon is said to be a Kansai specialty, I didn't have much familiarity with it. I went to a nearby restaurant that serves katsu udon for dinner even though I prefer kitsune udon. First, I ordered a beer, the one-coin set (draft beer and assorted hormone skewers), and white senmai. I was looking forward to the senmai because I like it, but it turned out to be very thin senmai, which was a bit different from what I usually have. The texture was strange, not the usual chewy texture. It wasn't bad, but it was different. Next time, I won't order it! The hormone skewers were not explained, but I think they were pork hormone skewers. They had a good chewy texture and were juicy and delicious. Finally, I had the katsu udon small, which was the main reason I came. The broth was delicious! It had a rich flavor from the katsu, sweetness, and the topping of shredded kelp did a great job! This is what katsu broth tastes like! It was so delicious and had a nice texture. I didn't drink the broth because my stomach was full from the beer, but it was so good that I wanted to drink it all. It was a bit difficult to get the attention of the staff because of the layout of the restaurant, but I was able to enjoy a leisurely meal. There were many customers using the restaurant as an izakaya. Next time, I'll try the rice bowl and udon set. Thank you for the meal.

I have tried KASUYA's katsu udon at places like Hozanji, but I heard they opened a new branch in Fuse so I decided to check it out. The katsu udon at different places can have unique flavors, but this shop's version was delicious without any strong flavors. The noodles were especially tasty, different from the Sanuki udon noodles, they were medium thickness and slightly firm which I really enjoyed. The soup was very hot but also delicious. There was shichimi and ichimi on the table, and when I added shichimi, it gave the dish a different taste. The interior had a counter with 6 seats, 4 tables for 4 people, and 1 table for 6 people. The staff consisted of 2 men in the kitchen and 1 woman serving. There were tissues and disposable chopsticks on the tables.

KASUYA Higashi store】 has opened in place of the former "Chuka Soba Fujii" in Fuse, so I went to check it out right away ( ´∀`)◆KASUYA Udon Kasuya Co., Ltd. Global Kitchen◆Kasuya operates 22 stores in Kansai and 5 stores in Kanto, making it a huge chain of udon restaurants. Their management philosophy is "Originality," which means constantly challenging new things without being bound by preconceptions and aiming to be the only one. This is the ideology that the company is committed to in order to enhance the brand power of KASUYA and satisfy customers. (※excerpt from Kasuya Co., Ltd. Global Kitchen website)The main store opened in Fujiidera in 1995, and the second store opened in Habikino City in 2009. Since then, they have expanded their store network through franchise operations. It took 14 years to open the second store. In addition to operating Kasuya, they also engage in the import and sale of meat and food processing. It's amazing how they started with just one udon restaurant in Fujiidera and have grown to this size (゚д゚) I always think chain restaurants in the food and beverage industry are amazing!----------------------------------------------------This property was previously occupied by "Chuka Soba Fujii." I remember being quite impressed by the taste, although it was oily and high in salt content, the soup was delicious and it was a flavor I liked. However, after about 3 years of operation, they closed (TдT) and the space remained vacant for about a year. It was a ramen shop in a slightly hidden location in the drinking district of Fuse. I thought someone would move in right away, but it took a while for the next tenant to come in!! I wonder if Fuse has a bad image? I've been curious about what would come in for a long time. And then Kasuya came in♪▪️Entering & Ordering-----------------------The atmosphere inside the restaurant has changed quite a bit from when Fujii was there, with mainly table seating separated by tall walls, creating a sense of "private room" and "enclosure"! I sat at the end of the counter♪ There is a fan on each counter ( ´∀`) which can be taken home and serves as promotion for the restaurant♪ A cute lady with brown hair and glasses brought me water♡ "Let me know when you're ready to order!" she said, and I looked at the menu... I was in the mood for rice dishes rather than udon (even though I'm in an udon restaurant lol), so I decided to go with the 【Beef Harami Bowl and Kasuya Udon (small) Set 980 yen】! As I was about to call the lady to place my order, I couldn't see her because of the high divider ('A`)Me: "Excuse me!" and from behind the divider, the lady: "Yes!" with a cheerful response ( ̄ー ̄) I ordered the 【Beef Harami Bowl and Kasuya Udon (small) Set】, and then the lady said, "Would you like a drink with that?" Wait, what Σ(´∀`||;) I was surprised by the unexpected question! However, I immediately understood...this is one of Osaka's most unique drinking districts. It's an area where old men and guys drink until morning! By saying this, it leads to "Oh...yeah, I'll have a beer then (´∇`)" "I won't drink anymore...oh, I'll have an oolong tea (´∇`)" "Hey! Give me a beer! And bring the lady over here for a drink too (#゚Д゚)" That kind of flow! This is a great strategy, isn't it? It's great to have a friendly and cute lady suggest it, I think lol By the way, they also have an all-you-can-drink menu♪ While waiting, I took pictures of the menu and the interior☆ When I looked behind me, there was an oden corner! This Kasuya has udon and rice dishes, as well as "motsunabe," "oden," and "all-you-can-drink courses," so it can be used not only as a "finale after drinking" but also as a "first stop before drinking"! Kasuya meets the double demand, they are truly remarkable (゚∀゚) And this restaurant allows "smoking throughout the venue"! I thought it was a good fit for the needs. With elements of both an udon restaurant and an izakaya, the decision between smoking and non-smoking can be tricky! I visited KASUYA Fu-se store, which opened on July 27, 2018. I arrived at the restaurant around 6:00 PM on a Saturday. Upon entering, I saw many customers enjoying yakiniku and beer while making a lot of noise. The main seating area had tables with partitions, and there were only 4 seats at the counter. A female staff member led me to the counter seats. Looking at the menu, I noticed they had a variety of udon dishes as well as meat bowls, skewers, and grilled dishes. This time, I ordered the basic Kasu udon for 556 yen and a 100-yen oden (beef tendon and egg). The oden arrived first, and I found the beef tendon to be tough and lacking in flavor, probably due to insufficient simmering time. The egg, on the other hand, had a slightly salty and flavorful taste, which I enjoyed. Soon after, the Kasu udon arrived, and I was delighted to see plenty of my favorite kasu toppings. The broth had a slightly oily and sweet-savory flavor, with a moderate amount of bonito umami, making it quite tasty. The noodles seemed to be frozen, with a smooth and bouncy texture that I found satisfying. Overall, it was a delicious meal. Thank you for the food!
