Today, I walked a lot from the morning. According to my smartphone, I walked about 19 kilometers. My feet are throbbing. When I arrived at Kyobashi Station, I felt more tired and sore than hungry. On days like this, when both my partner and I are in the same state, I don't have the energy to cook when I get home. So, I have to decide whether to eat out or buy something on the way back. Even if I decide to buy something, today I feel too tired to bother searching and carrying it. So, eating out is the way to go. However, even searching for a place to eat feels like a hassle... My mind is sluggish from walking all morning (;´д`) So, I decided to eat at a place under the train platform where there are several options like soba, Chinese, udon, and Western food. I thought my partner would choose the soba place and imagined a set meal with katsudon in my head, but she chose this place instead. Her eyes were drawn to the sign for cold tantan-men! I'm fine with Chinese food too. We entered the restaurant. I thought she would stick to her initial choice, but she seemed indecisive between the tantan-men and mapo tofu. In the end, she stuck to her initial choice ^ ^ The menu was limited here, and I don't have any dislikes, so if my partner wanted mapo tofu, I thought that would be fine. So, we ordered the mapo tofu and ebi mayo set, and also the recommended ankake yakisoba to share. If we share everything, it's fine ^_^ The staff here are attentive. Or maybe they're just following the manual faithfully? It's a pleasant service! When we entered, there were only two-person tables and a messy four-person table, but they asked us to wait a moment and promptly cleaned up a four-person table for us. In the past, this kind of service was common, but nowadays I feel like many staff members have become careless. They don't think ahead or lack motivation in their work. Well, if you go to an expensive restaurant, it's a different story, but in this situation, with just the two of us, they should have seated us at a two-person table, but this male staff member seemed to notice my large size or the slightly bigger bag I was carrying and accommodated us. Maybe he's the manager? I thought. Staff like this are treasures for the restaurant and exemplary as employees. At this point, if the food isn't bad, I'll probably come back again. I'm a low-budget commoner. I want to go to a low-cost restaurant where I feel good. It's human nature ^ ^ The yakisoba, mapo tofu set, and cold tantan-men arrived at the same time. The male staff member who served us the set meal brought two bowls and two small plates even though we only ordered one set. He must have noticed that we were going to share, and bringing them before we asked was truly thoughtful. The taste of all the dishes was satisfactory for me. If I had to pick, the mapo tofu could have been a bit more flavorful with stronger Sichuan pepper and more richness. Was this how Chin-san's taste was like? I tried the cold tantan-men after my partner gave me a taste, and it was better than expected, with less sesame paste and a nice discovery for a summer cold dish. Thank you to the staff for a pleasant meal. Thank you very much.
